Deviantart used to be a great place for artists of all types and mediums to post art. Only complaints about the old days were the art thieves, which are of course still present on any platform.
Now the site, ever since the switch that no one wanted, runs like garbage and has turned more into a fetish art site. Despite the ToS restricting certain types of content it still runs rampant on the site as a whole. As the website is thirteen and up one would thing that isn't a problem, right? Wrong as anyone can make an account claiming they are over eighteen to see the eighteen and up content. Artistic type medium for adults has always been accepted and I even appreciate it, but some of this "art" being made now is not that.
Basically, the site now lacks proper moderation, and lacks proper maintenance for it's functions and appearance. I miss the old days so much!
The ultimate site for those who want to share their art, whatever form that is. It is really a niche but I hope this niche market will not find another site to go to and Deviantart should now look for a way to strengthen their UX and other things to keep up with the modern times.
The staff ruined the site with the new awful, broken buggy and messy design, deleted all the characteristics that made the site remarkable and now they are unfairly and blatantly forcing us to use it when almost all of us were fine with the old design. And as if all that were not enough, they blatantly ignore their community. It's simply outrageous and shameful. That shows that they're a bunch of shameless coward arrogant inept incompetent morons. They don't deserve respect.
I remember the old classic Deviantart. Since the new updates things have changed, also not to mention it's pretty weird now. The Staff doesn't help you and don't care what problem you have. I've had an account for 9 years that I believe was hacked and they couldn't help or believe the account is indeed mine and I know my information is correct. So much hard work and dedication to that account lost... I'm disappointed is this company.
Anyone in the graphic arts who wants to share their more private artistic work comes to deviantart and it really is a great website that is free for all artists. Photographers, poets, graphic artists... everyone is welcome. The forum can get a bit unruly at times but overall it is a great community
I absolutely love Deviantart, I will admit that I am a Deviantart addict. It is a great site where you can post any kind of art from visual art such as drawing, painting, etc. to digital art, to photography and photo-manipulations, to literature including novels and poetry, to even videos and homemade or digital movies and so much more. The site is active and people on the site are kind. While you may not always get comments on your works you will know they are great my the number of people who add your works to their favorites. You can join groups and enjoy the works of other while making new friends and having loads of fun in the process.
DeviantArt is full of wonderful art (like the picture listed), and stories. There are alot of groups you can join and alot of chats you can talk on. You can sell art and join competitions when they are on.
Aside from this... If you fall down the rabbit hole then you will get lost in the dirty, messed up side of this website. Not to say that other websites don't have a dark side, Deviantart's dark side is way more toxic than the normal.
DeviantArt is not a good site as it once was. It has sadly become a place where bullies lurk and people will rapidly start flame wars with one another. While I do have some good friend there, sadly, the site has devolved from an art site to another hive of scum and villainy. And the worst part is while the site does have guidelines, more often than not, the bullies and haters abuse the report system and make false child porn claims just to get a certain user's account suspended or even terminated. The abuse is rare, but it does happen, and the worst part is the dA staff does not do anything to stop the abuse. In fact, they act immediately when they get the report instead of taking the time to actually look over the claim to see if it's even legit. If you are a fanartist, stay away from deviantArt. It has become a place where the bullies reign and the staff has no clue how to properly enforce the policy.
Worst art site ever. It used to be the best, but when I reordered Core Membership after it expired, I never got the features again. It costs $50 for one year of Core. Mom got charged for buying this, so after two weeks, I contacted them to see why I don't have the features, but received no response. Their phone support sucks, too. They don't answer. You have to leave a message. Then they're supposed to call you back. They DID NOT call back at all. And so I checked the site more to see if I had forums to ask for this help instead, but there aren't any. And I also asked my friends on the site about the problem, but they had no idea why I didn't get the features. So overall, a very bad site that I would NOT recommend anymore. That's about it.
All you have to do is give an opinion or just simply be different and that's enough to tick somebody off! I've seen people get away unpunished with posting autism comments, such as calling something they don't like autistic or autism or even outright hate speech against autistic people, such as how autism is apparently synonymous with mental $#*!ation (it's not), and popular users may be the nastiest people alive! They can get away with writing a polemic journal against you, effectively sending their MASSIVE fan base after you to attack you, that actually lead someone I once followed into suicide! I even reported that this person caused their death and the staff heartlessly DID NOTHING! This murderer is still roaming free on the site after what they've done.
And trust me, suicides by bullying are VERY common on this site!
I checked this site out after reading the reviews of others on sitejabber. Some very neat and well done photography and drawings. I am not a huge art fan but still enjoyed flipping through the photos. There are some talented people out there! The site seems well put together, very cool site to check out some well done images
I have had different accounts on DeviantArt.The first few years were fine until it started degrading into fetish drawings, Sonic recolours and MLP rip offs. Admins do not do their jobs in practicing quality control. I have had to report several pieces due to sexual nudity that should have seen set to private. The forums are filled with nothing but whiny teenagers. I closed my last account permanently after trying to spark a revolution for the true artists, which basically led to being told to stay off the Internet.
There are also art thieves galore.
Not a real art site since it was purchased and changed ownership. A lot of pedophilia, fetishism, and perverts and cell phone shots of cam girls T&A. If you don't believe me, just look at their front page or in the search engine or the other previews about this site from other members at the bottom of the page. And forget about reporting this stuff to DA staff, you will be the one to get in trouble.
The major famous artists that used to use this platform moved on to places like Artstation. Real artists are no longer celebrated. This company only follows the money now. I wouldn't want to associate my art with this place. Not too mention the virus and spam for sex messages you receive in your inbox daily... Now with eclipse rolling out, they're trying to be like station's jealous little sister by mimicking them, but DA's quality of art will never amount to Artstation. Eclipse is basically shiny pretty bows and gift wrapping to a pile of perverted poo.
The new reworked site is horrifically stupid, though it still allows the hoes to sell their dirty under pants and filthy photos that are in no way artistic nudes-- where kids are, good going deviant art you now are amongst the ranks of myspace. This site has very little to do with real art especially these days. There is a big difference between artistic nudes and flat out porn shots, don't even waste your time reporting the insertion photos, deviant art is nothing but a hack, porn site at this point, a decade ago it was contests and fan art, now just wow how low you have sunken, not to mention the pedos trying to lure children for nude drawings? WTF?
This is a photo sharing site that used to be good, but is getting a bit out of hand. At first, it was a good site for photographers to have their photos critiqued. But for the past few years it's become a low class porn site which has lots of members uploading any jpeg file they wish, and downloading any poorly done porn they like. Comments are imbecilic. They are no longer critiques, just observations on the models it has been overloaded with lots of semi-porno type images, which seem to be the most popular. It is free to join, but don't, under any circumstances take the site administrators money for any supposed premium service.
This site used to be great. Now it just feels like an artsy form of instagram; big, quick and superficial for popular art. And hey, if you like quickly consuming art, it'll be a great site for you! It just doesn't care about the deviant arts anymore. The exploring is gone, reading has become awful, and the mods just don't seem to care. I miss DeviantArt terribly. This isn't the site I loved.
I joined this website somewhere around in april, at first I didn't really know what else there was. But then as soon as I got deeper into this website for 5 minutes, things started to turn into a slow turn in a bad side. Meaning that I was already seeing things I should not have seen. Things such as nudity and inappropriate behavior. Also a lack of use of vulgarity. I know this is a place to show your art and all, but at this rate its like its mostly a mental asylum. As if I'm the only normal person here. Honestly, this app would do a lot more better if there wasn't such horrible recommendations and such fetish farming. I really hope this website would possibly get deleted, and all the people making such cursed things would finally go outside and experience nature. Instead of just being on their phones and seeing things they shouldn't be looking at.
Cool Graphics and some unusual and unique photographs and techniques. Good source of inspiration and admiring beauty and creativity of artists. If you have not been to this website you are missing something graphical...
I love this site. So many talented people with awesome ideas. Every time I visit their site I see so many new things and learn so much and have met some really cool new friends who share similar interests..
The art is great, but beware the website. In downloading a 'free' image, it also loaded several other programs and junk to my computer, changed my browser, my homepage and corrupted Chrome. And that was after I unchecked everybox that asked if I wanted any extra crap with my photo. It took me a solid 24 hours of screwing with the computer to restore everything. I guess you get what you pay for.
Answer: They not care cyberbully
Answer: I've been on dA since 2009 and have already lost so much business due to the layout changes. So many previous customers are jumping ship because of how bad the website changes are.
DeviantArt has a rating of 2.1 stars from 157 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with DeviantArt most frequently mention and core membership. DeviantArt ranks 488th among Graphic Design sites.
