Garmin is clunky, not intuitive, and has issues connecting and staying connected to my bluetooth devices. It's very frustrating when you need to get on the bike quickly and various components are not synced properly. So I can listen to music but not make a phone call, or make a call but not listen to my podcast...
I always feel welcome when I go to cycle gear. They don't make me feel like I don't know what I'm doing or don't treat me any different because I'm a dirt rider. I've been to other bike stores that make you think you don't know what you're talking about or make me feel a bit whatever because I don't ride street any longer. 10/10 it's my go to store and I like the closeout sales they have sometimes.
The people who work at Cycle Gear are very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. I went in, having surfed the website, thinking I knew what I wanted to buy. I left with something different because of the information I received from the salesperson. He explained features I didn't know about and gave me options that I hadn't considered. I left with something very close to the price I was planning on paying for a better piece of equipment.
I can't recommend them highly enough.
I was sent a battery that had a defect on the bottom corner which leaked acid. I contacted customer service and was informed where to take the battery for disposal, and was sent out a replacement within a couple days. This battery was in perfect condition. Would recommend
Shopping and shipping were excellent. Packaging was great and the product was awesome. CycleGear did their part. However, they may want to choose a better shipping partner (FedEx) as my delivery was delivered to the complete wrong address. I had to find and retrieve it myself based off of the picture they sent me in my "item delivered" email.
I visited my local store (Chattanooga, TN) in person to review merchandise and ask questions of salespeople. I found a helpful knowledgeable crew.
A later placed an order online with cycle gear website and had that order shipped to store.
Order came in earlier than expected and arrived to pick up helmet and communicator.
Staff positioned and installed communicator for me.
Overall good experience in store and online. Will continue to shop at cycle gear.
I recently purchased the AGV K1S White helmet from CycleGear, and I couldn't be more satisfied with both the product and the shopping experience. The helmet arrived in perfect condition, well-packaged, and on time.
The K1S is a fantastic upgrade, offering a sleek design, excellent aerodynamics, and great ventilation. The fit is snug yet comfortable, and the interior padding feels premium. The improved visor mechanism and integrated Pinlock-ready shield are great additions for clear visibility in different conditions.
CycleGear made the whole process seamless, from ordering to delivery. Their customer service was responsive, and the pricing was competitive. If you're looking for a quality helmet with solid performance, the AGV K1S is a great choice, and CycleGear is definitely a reliable retailer. Highly recommend!
The website was easy to search and the equipment I bought was a perfect match. The service in the store was good as well. Two suggestions… I couldn't figure out to apply my military discount to an online order (so didn't get it). Also, the service of installing the new faceshield was great but the used pinlock insert wasn't checked for cleanliness. As a result, I have clouded vision.
Cycle Gear has been around for decades, and their management model is on display at the San Jose Cycle Gear. Not only do they have multiple staff that are experts in their products, but I've also received great contacts with other related vendors when Cycle Gear didn't have my sizes (kevlar lined jeans in 36Wx38L).
I'm just another customer, but these folks at the SJ Cycle Gear deserve recognition for keeping their shop top-notch. Thanks!
I had to contact CycleGear to find out why my order didn't get past "processing". I finally made contact and was told that the was an "error" and it did not get processed. I never got told what the error was and I had to initiate by the complaint to get any movement.
Shopping at CycleGear is always an awesome experience, if you either get help in store or over the phone the associates are so helpful and polite. 100% recommend people to check it out, you won't leave empty handed :) at least I never do 😆
I had a great experience with the salesperson when I purchased the product. They were very helpful, patient, and everything was delivered on time, just as promised. However, when I went to have the Cardo intercoms installed on the helmets, the service wasn't up to the same standard. The person who did the installation seemed rushed and didn't do a good job—it was poorly installed. I think paying more attention to that part of the service would really improve the overall customer experience.
I ordered a REV IT jacket online and requested to ship to store. The product reached on time. The customer service was really good. They addressed all my questions about the product. Only issue is stores doesn't carry all prieducts and everytime I hv to make a ship request

Mirrors fit pretty good on triumph, do note though that the stems of mirrors are short, but still work for a small guy like me. Taller people would have a hard time seeing past shoulders from mirror
My experience with the shop is great. Delivery kept on getting delayed and was irritating. I think you guys need to work on not delaying your shipping several times
Tire was best overall price and delivery but still wonder if the item is 'in stock' why it takes 3-4 days to get it moving. Otherwise positive experience.

Found my item easily. Exactly as advertised. Sai exact fit, needed modification to fit though. Solid product, looks great, works well after modifications.
Answer: Your local dealership will almost inevitably be superior to CycleGear, in every respect. The reason for that is your local dealership will cease to exist if they don't offer their customers the service, support, and products that they are looking for. You might not find it on the shelf right then, but every dealership has the ability to order in what you want and they will price it fairly, because they know that you can go elsewhere. These internet retailers need to be put out of business, by us. All we have to do is shop locally.
Answer: There's nothing legit about the website. They have stores in many different cities around the US, but their customer service is almost as bad in-store, as it is from their corporate call center and internet department.
