Returned a comforter which was spewing its stuffing all over. CuddleDown claims never to have received the return package. They told me it was my tough luck and they had no way of knowing if I was scamming them or not - they did not believe me. They did not honor the return/exchange. I'm out ~$300.00!
I just had a similar experience with Amazon which resulted in a much better outcome. A package status indicated "delivered to customer" however I never got it. (Probably stolen from my door step). I contacted Amazon and within 2 minutes I had a full refund - they considered the package lost and took responsibility.
I love their sheets but I have had to place multiple phone calls, been on hold for over 12 minutes, been "guaranteed" delivery for 4 different dates, and yet I still do not have my order. Very frustrating! I wish I'd read these reviews prior to placing my order.
Have ordered ever pillow we own in both our houses and gifts for our daughter-in-law. Most recent purchase had an expensive shipping charge and then the surprise $14.95 charged to cc for some VIP service they claim I signed up for. I called, said I had not signed up, they said I did, told them I would no longer order from them as I do not agree with their sneaky new policy, customer service rep said "okay"... I imagine they will soon be out of business at this rate
Watch out for this company. They sell you sheets and then put you on a monthly VIP billing of $14.95. What a scam! Never buy from this company
Received gift certificates. Placed an order June 30. Multiple calls and emails since order never received. Copy if order sent to customer service. Still no satisfaction. Their response is consistently to wait a few more days. Ok I know it us not life and death here but I recommend never ordering from this company.
I placed an order for an "in stock" item (on cart page). Paid $21.99 for shipping. Once the confirmation email arrived, I clicked through to my order status which was immediately "backordered."
I went back to the site, placed the same item (inc. Same color/version, same item #) in my cart again only to yet again be told that it was "in stock" while staring at another tab listing it as "backordered."
Plus I feel like their VIP Program, while perfectly legal, relies on people not reading the small print. They charge $21.99 for shipping (or more), and offer a big VIP splash screen showcasing free shipping, but reading the small grey print carefully would reveal a $14.99 recurring subscription charge. You have to decline the VIP at least twice during checkout. This is what I call a "dark pattern" business practice, and seems predicated on consumers not reading the small print or forgetting about the recurring subscription. It is legal but immoral.
Maybe it's not for everyone, but 5% cash back from stores such as Walmart, Sephora, Lowe's, and hundreds of others definitely is worth $14.95 a month for me. Also the shipping rebates are incredible. I know it's a shock to see that on your bank statement every month if you didn't sign up for it, but before freaking out and thinking someone is out to get you, maybe think about if you might be able to use this service. (Also, it doesn't hurt to review your bank statement every month and then ASK about charges.) I mean of course they should tell you, but did you sign up for it for the free shipping and not pay attention? NO I do not work there and I only purchased blankets for Christmas presents one time. (They ended up being perfect.)
I ordered four sets of towels - monogrammed - for Christmas gifts and was assured
They would arrive in time though I would have to pay more for expedited shipping which I did. Needless to say they never did arrive before Christmas and every time I called to check on them it took forever to get through to customer service which when I did, they just said the towels would be arriving soon.
They did refund me $30 which did not come close to the cost of 'expedited' shipping - not to mention the fact that I had to send them on when they did arrive because the kids for whom I ordered them were only here for Christmas and live in NY and SC!
Both daughters-in-law who received the towels said there were many loose strings and they are not as absorbent as described and take forever to dry!
The company is supposedly headquartered in Maine, but they in no way exhibit the same work ethic or quality that I would expect from a local Maine company.
The bottom line is that I would NEVER order anything from this company.
I placed an order for a duvet cover with matching pillowcases. I was charged shipping at the time of the order for both, but Cuddledown only shipped the pillowcases. They sent a slip with the pillowcases that said the duvet cover was on backorder and then... nothing. No email, no phone call, nothing. I finally logged into my account to find out they canceled my order for the duvet cover and it's now out of stock. So I returned the pillowcases and had to pay return shipping. My account was credited for the pillowcases, minus return shipping. But they didn't return the initial shipping cost I paid for the duvet cover I never received. After several emails back and forth with customer service, they finally agreed to return the shipping cost I pay for the duvet cover. A good company would have told me my order was canceled and returned the shipping for that item. A better company would have refunded all the costs. I'll not be ordering from them again, there are other better companies out there.
I recently placed two orders through the Cuddledown website. The items in both orders were confirmed when the order was placed, however BOTH orders were only partially fulfilled when shipped. I reached out to their customer service email address and was then told that the items were no longer available. It is unacceptable and terrible business practice for them to confirm an entire order, and then not reach out to the customer when they can not fulfil it to determine if the customer wishes to cancel or not. I will never purchase from their company again.
Rebate check for purchases from Cuddledown VIP program made in October 2017 was never received by me and not cashed on their end. Still had to wait three months before able to request a replacement check on Feb 15,2018. That has not arrived and is now also overdue. I agree with other posts that their Customer Service is lacking. Every time I call for a status check, I end up having to repeat the entire scenario again. It appears they don't add notes to account files. I have kept track of dates, persons spoken to and actions to be taken so I have my full record. Very, very frustrating to deal with. Cuddledown products are nice but very over priced. It was a splurge for me to purchase the duvet cover, two pillowcases and two pillows. The rebate of $79 ($38 of which was shipping costs) would slightly offset my buyers remorse of paying $400 for the items. Still waiting.
Customer service does not exist. They mess up orders. They offer VIP trial membership and don't follow through. Four phone calls and no action yet. Most of their products are nice although overpriced. Shipping charges are outrageous.
I lived in Maine for several years. When I called Cuddledown I heard that good Maine accent. I do not know where they are outsourcing their customer service but these people are not from Maine. Deeply annoyed. I called this time, the operators could make no sense of what I was trying to ask... I am an articulate person. I will no longer order from Cuddledown. There are plenty of other companies that will sell me the same sheets now that realize I am no longer supporting employment in the state of Maine
This company must be under new ownership. It is NOT the company I dealt with many years ago. My last several orders have been disasters.
First of all, they LIE on their website about whether or not items are available, indicating that the item is "in stock." However, once you place the order, they then tell you it will be FOUR weeks before they ship the item. If you attempt to cancel an item and reorder something that actually is in stock (supposedly), they charge additional shipping charges. And their shipping charges are EXTREMELY HIGH - no doubt, they pad the charges for profit or don't offer their corporate rate, as most reputable companies do. I went around and around on the phone with one of their "customer service" reps about how it was "my choice" to re-order and, therefore, I had to pay the additional shipping. This after a previous CS rep told me to call back to get shipping waived. Unbelievable.
In the past, when I cancelled an order due to their error, they went ahead and shipped it anyway. I had to dispute that charge with my bank.
I ordered a cover from them, and THREE times, they sent the wrong size - labeled incorrectly. I finally tried to cancel and they fought me on it.
If you try to call regarding an existing order, you will get a foreign call center person that does not speak English well and cannot understand your questions. They just keep reciting from script.
They try to push their frequent buyer program, for which there is a charge, and which is administered by a different company. Impossible to deal with as well. Once they have your money, good luck getting it back.
I can't believe I was stupid enough to try again. Never, ever again. Disgustingly evil people.
Wow, what a strange experience. I wanted to exchange my two down pillows for a softer firmness, so I called the customer service number and found myself speaking to a call center in the Philippines (I'm pretty sure it was because I used to set up call centers in the Philippines myself for companies wanting to save money). The representative had no idea what to do with my request, so he transferred me to another customer service rep who sounded American. I was shocked when she said she was not familiar with Cuddledown products, but advised me (in between long intervals of silence) to write the return address on the box, pay for return shipping myself, and enclose a note with the item number of the item I wished to return. I said, "Can't you just send me an email with an RMA and shipping label like everyone else?" Nope. At this point, I wondered if I had accidentally ordered off a fraudulent website. Now, I'm just going to return the pillows rather than exchange them and hope they'll refund me.
I bought a king sized down comforter from this company back in August of 2017 and paid extra for 2 day express shipping- I never received it as of December 2017, when I called customer service they told me it was on back order and if I wanted to pick a different color that it would be shipped out the following Monday. Monday came and went and it was never sent out, now (2 weeks later) I called their 1-800 number and customer service is telling me that they haven't been able to get to my order yet because they fell behind on their orders after a snow storm- This company is so unreliable and unprofessional.
1. Do not respond to emails
2. They sent two items instead of one (took money for both)
3. The promised Smart Post return label is not included in the package
4. Get refunded is too long
A nightmare dealing with cuddledown. I've spent about four hours on the phone over two weeks including one hold wait time of 55 minutes (but so desperate to get my problems resolved I held) They never sent my order even though I paid extra for two day shipping. After two days I called to see why I hadn't been sent a shipping notice-- they said they couldn't process my card because when any order is over 300$ they have to verify identity first. I asked why they didn't email or call to tell me this as it was obviously a time sensitive order. They had no answer. I was transferred to about five people several hardly knew English. Then I was supposed to get 10% VIP discount but two said I wasn't signed up, one said I was, then two more VIP reps had no clue but said try faxing my receipt when it comes and in 6 weeks maybe I'd get the discount. Long saga short I finally cancelled the order and begged them to go away I can't handle the stress for trying to order 600$ of bedding it should be very good service. To this day two months later a credit card charge shows as still pending from cuddle down. They said they can't remove it unless I give them contact info and a fax number for someone at my credit card company. Sounds precarious and fishy. This is ludicrous. I'm just cancelling the credit card now so they don't incompetently run the charge through for products I cancelled and so didn't receive. Insaine!
Ordered bedding for approximately $300. Wanted to return the too soft wedge pillow, cotton wedge pillow cover and one sheet. Foreign-sounding Customer Service Representative with poor English and broken phone connection put me on hold for ten minutes when I called to verify the return procedure. Finally figured it out for myself. Visa reimbursement pending. More later...
** WILL NOT ORDER FROM CUDDLEDOWN AGAIN **
What has happened to Cuddledown?
I was not given an order number when I put in an order this morning totaling more than $300. When I called back, the order was not found. I was told to
Call back again! Really? I'm the customer.
This will probably be my last order.
Answer: Not sure. The product seems accurate, the rest of the processes, customer service, shipping are barely there.
Answer: You can contact them but you will not receive any help from them. I am stuck with a comforter cover that I never received the matching pillow shams.
Answer: Quality got me there - and their customer service and incompetence sent me running away! It was HORRIBLE and it still ain't over -
