As soon as I posted a comment about their cash back exclusions, CouponCabin cancelled my account. I had been with them long enough to earn over $1,100. What kind of company doesn't appreciate constructive comments and rewards faithful customers with cancellation?

As part of our Cash back program, participating stores have the ability to set cash back rates for certain products, brands and categories at their sole discretion. Please know that if it were up to us, there would be no cash back restrictions (ever). Cash back exclusions are prominently shown in multiple places on CouponCabin.com, including, and among others, under the store's logo on their dedicated coupon page and in highlighted and bolded text on the popup that appears after clicking coupons. Please just refer to these sections when shopping online to avoid any missing cash back due to exclusions. Please contact success@couponcabin.com for any cash back-related questions regarding your account.

I stumbled upon Coupon Cabin by accident and SO glad I did. I have always used another site, but I find I head to Coupon Cabin before I shop now. CC pays pretty much when I want; I don't have to wait months for a payment. There customer service was great. I recently contacted them because a merchant did pay as expected. Within a couple hours they had contacted the merchant and the full credit was in my account. Out of about 15 shopping trips, that was the only time there was a credit issue, but they resolved it right away.

I read a few of the below posts and I have the same experience. They did refund me the first maintenance fee they charged BUT throughout the months, I tried to make other purchases so that the maintenance fee wouldn't kick in, but I forgot not only they charge a maintenance fee after no eligible purchases within 365 days, they start charging you monthly maintenance fee after that, so the next month they charged another fee. Below someone mentioned $4 fee, and Coupon Cabin said only $2 which is not true, because I'm charged $3.50 (twice) which one they waived, but they wouldn't waive it again. However, their rewards are extremely hard to get. Most of my purchases don't qualify.

I asked very politely and nicely if they're willing to waive the 2nd fee, because I finally found a reward that I qualified, but they just wouldn't waive it and said they've been in business over 18 years and have millions of happy customers and that it's not fair to refund me my maintenance fee twice. I've been with many many many institutions and to keep customers happy, sometimes they're wiling to give a 2nd chance. It does have to be escalated to the managerial level at those times, but I understand they're doing me a huge favour and I'd really appreciated and always try to repay back by referring businesses and/or just be super good because you have to learn after being careless twice. But Coupon Cabin is unforgiving. And like one of the other posts said, it's just a way for them to take back the rewards they've given to you.

So I complained about it and by that time I was talking to VPs and they're adamant about it. Then the next thing I know, my account is deactivated (just like one of the below post reviews experienced), and not only that, after I asked why my account is deactivated, they blocked my IP too! They said they will send me a check via mail of the rewards I've accumulated so far, so I will update my review once I receive that check to let everyone know if they're a business of their own words because they have not responded since I've given them my address yesterday.

Please know that we’re not fans of fees either but in this case they’re necessary for the proper and legal functioning of our cashback program. A maintenance fee is only triggered when (a) you have not made a cashback eligible transaction in 365 days AND (b) your account balance is below $10. Said another way, as long as you use CouponCabin to make just one, single cash back transaction in the course of a year, this fee will never be applied.

It takes forever to get paid. I don't shop on line and was using the part where you view and earn a few pennies. My account got flagged and they couldn't tell me why. There are plenty of surveys on line that pay better than this and you don't wait months to get paid.

CouponCabin has systems in place which are designed to protect both our 12,000,000 cash back members, like yourself, and our 6,000+ cash back partner stores. In part, it's because of these systems that CouponCabin can offer such INCREDIBLE cash back offers that you just can't find anywhere else. Please understand that these are intended to be unobtrusive and while we can't share the specifics of how our systems work, the vast majority of account verification changes are temporary. Also, it's important to note that check payments are processed under the same frequency as all other payment methods.

They literally look for ways to rule out fairly earned cash back.

Example: if you have a minimum purchase requirement of $25, and you purchase a $70 item (with tax the order total is $75). You use a $50 gift card to pay toward the purchase and use your credit card for the remainder of $25. You would think that this $25 credit card charge meets the minimum purchase requirement, right? Nope! They actually will arbitrarily conclude that the credit card purchase of $25 includes the $5 in sales tax, completely ruling out any/all cash back. Why doesn't the $5 sales tax fall under the $50 gift card? I don't know, their bot-like responses won't tell me.

Moral to the story: Stick with Rakuten or almost any other cash back site for your rebates.

Unfortunately, per the agreement we have in place with our cash back partner stores, the use of gift cards voids cash back. Please know that if it were up to us, all orders, regardless of payment method, would be eligible for cash back. As you stated, cash back is calculated on the order amount before tax, shipping and any fees are added and after all coupons, discounts and credits are deducted.

When I started, this website seemed legitimate. However, when it came time for me to be able to get my cash back, somehow I was mysteriously locked out of my account for suspicious activity even though I never had any issues and was not notified of anything. In order to re-activate my account they were demanding a copy of my drivers license and other sensitive documents. The $16 I was owed is not enough to risk having my identity stolen. I'm a member of a number of cash back programs, none of which require such personal information. It is very suspect to me as I read other people's experiences that they also were kicked out of their accounts right as they were eligible to withdraw their earnings. I had a very poor experience and have decided this program is not trustworthy. I would suggest customers use Rakuten or Swagbucks instead and save time and hassle!

In part, it's because of these systems that CouponCabin can offer such INCREDIBLE cash back offers, like $100 back on $100 orders, that you just can't find anywhere else. Account verifications typically take just a few minutes and once verified, accounts are immediately restored. If you're uncomfortable sending us your state-issued ID, there are six other documents that you can use to verify your account. My original review was 5 stars and said I loved coupon cabin and have saved lots of money over the many years I've been a member. That changed last week when they notified me that I had violated their rules, that my account is closed, and that I am permanently and irrevocably banned from their website. I was flabbergasted! They responded to enough questions to allow me to know that the rule I apparently violated was that I accessed coupon cabin from the same IP address as another coupon cabin account at some point. We have allowed a few visitors to access the internet from our home WiFi, and I may have accessed coupon from WiFi while I was traveling, so it's possible. They would not investigate further to understand how it happened and they made it clear they really don't care how it happened, even if they are mistaken. Clearly the rule must have originally been put in place to prevent people from having more than one account and claiming more than 1 per month (formerly 2 per month) of the exclusive offers, but anyone who even remotely understands WiFi would know that this would not allow the members to use coupon cabin unless they were home and never let visitors use their WiFi... not reasonable or realistic, or understandable, and it's no wonder there are many complaints about this horribly unfair policy. Besides that the responses to any inquiries about such a notice are very condescending, rude, and unprofessional... a very poor business, and a bit shady too.

This company promises cash back to its customers who make purchases at various online retailers through its website. I recently made such a purchase on Walmart's website by clicking on an offer for a special "member's only" 25% cash back deal featured by CouponCabin. I made this purchase following all rules and restrictions noted under the offer on couponcabin's website. I also took screenshots of this purchase process on couponcabin's site and confirmed afterward it was tracked by couponcabin by checking my clicks history under my CouponCabin profile, which I also took a screenshot of. After all of this, I was still not credited with my promised cash back, in this case an amount of $12.58. I submitted a missing cashback request through the support link from CouponCabin to do this, but the company wouldn't agree to credit the cashback blaming the retailer for the problem of not tracking my purchase. This was not the first time I've experienced issues receiving cash back from purchases I made through this business as this same situation happened to me on at least two other occasions previously, during which I also submitted missing cash back requests and had the same result of not receiving my expected cash back. Additionally, only one of these "member's only" deals are available for customers to claim every 30 days, so even if you click/claim one of these featured deals and you don't receive your cashback, you are still unable to claim another special members only deal for 30 more days due to this restriction. These deals are very representative of click-bait and deceptive for the customers who are expecting these to work and they find out only after making their purchase, that they don't and have no recourse even if they abide by all of Couponcabin's rules and restrictions in place. CouponCabin has been deceiving their customers by featuring misleading advertisements for cashback that they will not honor and choose to blame on the retailer and ultimately the customer. I made very respectful requests first through CouponCabin's process for the missing cash back, and was followed up with over email by the company. When this measure failed to provide any resolution and CouponCabin only continued to blame Walmart for the issue, I reached out to couponcabin over their Facebook page and their facebook messenger and never received any response. Most recently, I filed a complaint regarding this matter with the Better Business Bureau to attempt to resolve this with the company, but instead of choosing to work with me at all, CouponCabin instead chose to retaliate against me and closed my account specifically because I filed the complaint with the BBB. I have an email saved from the "Vice President of Member Services", indicating this exact reasoning for closing my account. I should not have had to take this to this level, but I feel that CouponCabin's deceptive and potentially fraudulent activities I've outlined here need to be reported for the sake of other consumers who may be considering their services.

Rakuten is much better

Please note that CouponCabin does not offer an unconditional promise of cash back. We receive a commission for orders that are successfully tracked back to CouponCabin, and we then share this commission with members in the form of cash back. If a store does not pay us our commission, for any reason, we will not be able to credit cash back. Please understand that we're on your side here in that CouponCabin did not receive our commission for your order either (and we sure wish that we would have). Over 99.4% of all cash back transactions track without any issues, that's just 6 in 1,000 orders that don't get credited. When an order does not get credited, it is likely because of one of the following:

- An ad blocker is being used
- The purchase was for an item in a category that is not eligible for cash back
- The shopping cart was not empty when initially visiting the store
- A promo code was used that was not found on CouponCabin
- The order was not immediately placed after clicking from CouponCabin

That said, CouponCabin is a completely free service that provides its members with substantial cash back rewards for clicking links and making online purchases. We only get paid when you get paid so we're on your side here and we, too, wish there was more we could do to get your order credited for the both of us.

Coupon Cabin doesn't pay and claims they "never guaranteed payment" so they tell you to pack sand when you complain. These coupon websites that don't give you the immediate discount, but instead make you wait a couple of weeks are scamming the system. By the time you get your purchased item, they don't give you your money as promised and there's nothing you can do.

I wouldn't give this company any stars if that was possible. They used to be good, but something changed in their company last year.

I made ~$200 in purchases in good faith and followed Coupon Cabin guidelines. Now they are keeping my ~$200 plus the money they already received on my behalf from the merchants. While my purchases met the requirements for rebate, coupon cabin closed my account because I questioned them for asking for actual photos of my driver's license (someone recently stole my credit card number through this method). They responded on BBB that they promptly reply to questions and accept 6 other forms of proof of residency, but now they are ignoring my communication. The last communication I received from them said I should write to their company and wait a minimum of 3 weeks for a reply. And now they won't respond to me at all! So it appears that they are replying with false information on various sites to prevent poor ratings. I am simply asking for my nearly $200 that I am entitled to. As it is, they have been paid by merchants and they are also keeping my ~$200. I filed with the attorney general and encourage others who are experiencing this problem to do the same. Coupon Cabin needs to be shut down now to protect consumers. Coupon cabin reps will tell you they accept other forms of ID for verification but when I tried to communicate with them to submit the forms they kept posting their original statement insisting again that they require my drivers license. They're playing cat and mouse games with me - saying one thing online in response to public complaints, but then making completely different demands from me when they communicate with me directly. They continue to demand my drivers license from me when they communicate with me.

I received thE $75 off $75 for GNC. First time. So I tried to set up Direct Deposit with Coupon Cabin and they asked me to send my driver licenses for verification purposes and I did. Now they have deactivated my account and told me that they will send me a one time courteous check for $8. I'm not understanding so I am refunding my purchased items with GNC. Please do not use coupon cabin. They do not honor what they say and blocked me told me that could no longer receive messages from my account.

I purchased the gift card under the condition and stated advertisement that it would be available for use immediate. It was not. And i lost my chance to make a purchase on ebay last night/early AM. https://www.omnicard.com/maintenance.html "OmniCard.com is currently undergoing maintenance. Please check back soon." I would not have purchased had i known it wasnt available immediately, as advertised here https://www.couponcabin.com/gift-cards/ When will I get my digital gift card? CouponCabin gift cards are instantly available and can be redeemed immediately. I no longer have a need for it. I have requested a refund and no response. BTW, i have purchased many ebay gift cards from them in the past without an issue. THis was a case of thier partner being down and failing them and they cant admit it. Sorry little fellas over there

Had an account for years. Someone else in my household created an account and then accessed a members only offer. This made them immediately close both her account and mine permanently with no recourse. Apparently they expect you to be the overseer of anyone within your household as someone else can violate the ToS on your behalf.

CouponCabin has very few rules and the rules we do have are in place to make sure we can pay as much cash back as possible; it’s how we’re able to offer such incredible cash back offers, like $100 back on $100 orders, that you can’t find anywhere else. In addition, we make sure these few rules are prominently highlighted across the site when using our cash back program. That said, when accounts are identified as trying to circumvent these rules, we have no choice but to close those accounts.

I received $1.50 cashback on a jar of jelly. Later the same day a $100 Amazon cashback offer pops up on my screen. In reviewing the offer I find out because of the $1.50 cashback earlier in the day, I cannot take advantage of the $100 Amazon offer because they were both "limited time" "Members Only" offers. I emailed support to confirm. I was told yes and those are the rules sorry. It is ridiculous "Members Only" offers can vary so much in value. I never would have claimed the $1.50 if I understood the "Members Only" system, and knew much more valuable offers were possible.

UPDATE: The day after I posted this review, they cancelled my account. I screenshot it for your viewing pleasure.

CouponCabin successfully processes tens of thousands of cash back transactions each week without an issue. Over 98% of all transactions automatically post so it's rare for cash back not to get credited. When cash back does not post, it's typically because ad blocking, antivirus banner blocking or non-standard cookie settings on your computer are interfering with this tracking. Please ensure that all ad blockers are disabled and all cookies are enabled, and in doing so, cash back tracking issues will disappear.

They can be a very good site. Sometimes you don't get back money on high ticket offers where you buy 75$ after being directed from their site and not get credited. Or if you accidentally use a different email (but don't take advantage of more than one members only item once every 30 days) the system locks you out. If a relative checks their account at your house you get suspended, etc etc
Pity the person who has to contact customer service, they have demeaning scripts that say "bummer" and proceed to insinuate the problem (whatever it may be) is your fault. Then terminateyou from their services. Know that you cannot question them or expect actual service. There is no grievance process and you are not allowed access to an administrator.

CouponCabin's customer support will eventually hassle you about how you need to start receiving checks instead of PayPal. Very, very dumb. Dumbest thing ever. Check out Ebates, BeFrugal, and RetailMeNot. Effortless customer service and PayPal payments. If you use CouponCabin, you risk having your account held hostage until you agree to start receiving checks instead of PayPal. Waste of time when it's so easy to use multiple competing sites that offer the same or better deals, and don't have incompetent policies and customer service. CouponCabin might seem to work at the start, but trust me, you're risking a big waste of time and a nominal amount of pending payments when later on they start to hassle you about how you need to start receiving checks. The other sites are, of course, easy to use. In the end, probably my only regret was that I didn't tell CouponCabin how truly dumb and incompetent they were being, in light of all their competent competition. The other positive reviews here? Don't be deceived. CouponCabin nags its members by email to leave positive reviews at three different review sites. In other words, these people didn't come here by their own volition to leave an objective review. They were nagged into it. Furthermore, these reviewers definitely haven't reached the point where they're told they need to switch from PayPal to checks! At some point I'm sure they will, but by then they'll have forgotten about the positive review they were nagged into leaving here.

While over 99.4% of all cash back transactions automatically post to accounts, from time to time some transactions don't get reported to us by our stores and thus don't post. When this happens, CouponCabin and its partner stores have a process to look up a missing order so that it can be reviewed and credited. CouponCabin takes missing cash back very seriously since we are not paid for orders that do not track back to us either. That said, within minutes of you submitting your missing cash back inquiry receipts, we opened an investigation in to why your cash back didn't post. When the store responded, they indicated that your order was credited to a different website partner and not CouponCabin. This is most often caused by not immediately checking out after you clicked on a CouponCabin cash back link. Visiting other coupon/shopping sites, Google, blogs or evening opening emails can cause your order to not be tracked to CouponCabin and instead, attributed to another website. Our ability to provide members with cash back is contingent on us being compensated by the store for your order. Even though we tried to get your order credited to us, since again, we didn't get paid for your purchase either, in this instance, since the store says your last click before placing your order was not a CouponCabin cash back link, we did not receive our commission and are not able to provide you with cash back. Again, we are on your side here, we did not get paid for this purchase either and, like you, we sure wish we had.

I followed all the required steps by coupon cabin, creating a login, then adding the item to be purchased in my cart, purchased it and no changes were made. I received an email saying $20 would be credited to my account. I waited patiently and then it was reversed as fast as it was added. Ridiculous! What a scam. No messages or indicators during purchase the CarId.com company doesn't qualify - it was the opposite. Upon following up - response is they don't have a business agreement. What a joke and a waste of time. Coupon cabin is worthless.

The two most common causes for a reversal are if a coupon or promo code is used from any source other than CouponCabin (this includes promo codes that are given to you at time of checkout by the site itself) or if your shopping cart was not completely, 100% empty when you clicked on our link. Reversals like this also generally happen when an order, for any reason, is in any way modified, returned, cancelled, exchanged, out of stock, damaged in shipping, or has a price adjustment, or if a payment method is declined/changed/rerun or the order was picked up in a store. If an item is pre-ordered or backordered, cash back will be reversed as well. In addition, if you purchased three or more of the same item, cash back will be reversed. Please know that we note that we're on your side here since we didn't get paid for your order either.

In all correspondence I've ever had with couponcabin, I've been unfortunate enough to deal with Sydney K. He/she is rude, aggressive, obnoxious & a downright disgrace to this company. Sydney cancels coupons without any actual reason & in my opinion, acts like a 3 year old throwing a tantrum over a toy. When you demand to speak to a manager - Sydney flat out lets any correspondence get past him/her. The complaints against this particular rep are well deserved. Sydney needs to be fired immediately because people are losing faith in Couponcabin due to the behavior of this particular rep #FireSydney!

Do not use this app! I won the $75 off of $75 from carters and they said I didn't get it bc my "click" went somewhere else? What!? That's the only reason I even spent that much there at that time. It was perfect bc my kids needed clothes but I got ripped off and was out so much money from this cheating company!

Please remember that CouponCabin is your partner in cash back as we only get paid when you do. Our ability to provide members with cash back is contingent on us being compensated by the store. The store identified that another link was clicked by you before your order was placed. Most often this means that a coupon was used that was not from CouponCabin, that another coupon/shopping site was visited after clicking CouponCabin, or that a coupon was used that the store showed you as you checked out. Also, if your shopping cart was not completely, 100% empty prior to clicking from CouponCabin, cash back will not be earned.

They will find every reason in the book not to pay you. And if you question too many times after their generic canned responses theyll just close your account down. I filed a complaint about them retracting my cashback and they closed my account and provided me the following explanation: Since your experiences with CouponCabin are just so out of the ordinary for us, we feel that its in the best interest of both of us that we part ways. As such, your account has been closed and it can not be reopened. Dont waste your time with this company, there are tons of fine print rules which disqualify your cashback, and customer service is extremely unhelpful. Go to Ebates!

CouponCabin has very few rules and the rules we do have are in place to make sure we can pay as much cash back as possible; it’s how we’re able to offer such great deals that you can’t find anywhere else. In addition, we make sure these few rules are prominently highlighted across the site when using our cash back program. That said, when accounts are identified as trying to get around these rules, we have no choice but to close those accounts.

Nutshell:
-If you value your privacy, dont sign up for this. Identity theft is real and they wont do anything to prevent it.
-If you dont comply with sending them complete pictures of very important documents, they can freeze your account and they will still get paid for your purchases while you wont.
-As other have stated here, their customer service is lazy and they will just copy and paste responses rather than addressing your issues (they'll probably do the same below with a "copy and paste" response like with everyone else).
-Your account will be frozen unless you comply and give up your privacy. They'll hold your cashback and tell you "it's yours really, just give us what we ask for." You wont comply, you lose your cashback and they'll get it.
-Most of you will be happy with them since you wont mind sending sensitive information to them and that's why they'll continue with these policies. This review is for the minority that does care about privacy.
-Why not hire a website like iDenfy, SheerIf, etc? That seems like a viable solution.
Some context:
Had been a Befrugal member plus USAA for cashback and was looking for something more profitable. A friend told me about this. I signed up for it and a few days later, there was a $75 offer for Staples. I had no intentions of buying something at Staples but it was free $75. I placed the order and then got the email confirming I got $75. Tried to log in to retrieve the cash back and was told my account was flagged. (I can only assume that me valuing my privacy and having a VPN caused this flagging. They wont tell you what caused it to deter others from committing fraud so who really knows?) Emailed them and got a generic response telling me in a few words that I needed to send them a copy of my state issued id. Strange for a cashback site you'd think? They said it's in their terms, which it is. Seems like a valid concern to not provide such important information so I sent the pictures and blocked out the important information. Name, picture and address were all visible. Apparently, that wasnt enough. Their solution? Submit it securely in the website. How secure can a cashback website be for important documents? Financial institutions dont ask me for these when applying for car loans or credit cards. They'll say, you can send us other documents instead. Why on earth will I send them a complete, clear picture of passports or birth certificate or whatever other options they have? They might make sense to some of you but for someone who has dealt with identity theft before, providing such things doesnt seem wise and they dont, at all, seem to understand that. Perhaps hire a website that does this for you and are experts on these and only exclusively do this type of verification? That seems reasonable enough. Back to that Staples purchase, I already paid for it and got notified it qualifies. They will indeed get paid by the merchant. I wont. Apparently, we should "think of CouponCabin as [our] partner in cash back in that [they] only get paid when [we] do." I guess that's not accurate for those customers who dont want to become potential victims of identity theft. They will get paid by Staples. I didnt and I wont since i wont send them my sensitive information. It's a free service so know that we shouldn't question it or complaint about it. We agreed to it when we signed up for it. It's in the terms. I saw it and they're right. We should just comply and obey. Because:

CouponCabin is a completely free service that provides its members with substantial cash back rewards for clicking links and making online purchases. That said, CouponCabin has systems in place which are designed to protect both our 10,000,000+ cash back members, like yourself, and our 3,500+ cash back partner stores. In part, it's because of these systems that CouponCabin can offer such INCREDIBLE cash back offers, like $100 back on $100 orders, that you just can't find anywhere else. Account verifications typically take just a few minutes and once verified, accounts are immediately restored. If you're uncomfortable sending us your state-issued photo ID, there are seven other documents that you can use to verify your account. Please note that this information is in no way shared or used for any purpose other than this account verification and once the process is complete, all documents are permanently deleted.

There you go folks. That'll be their response. Coupon Cabin Staff, I saved you a reply. You're welcome. Rest of the readers mindful about privacy, I hope I can save you a headache on time.

So what happens when you visit a relative for the holidays with a coupon cabin account and you use their computer to login... EVERYONE gets banned forever and lose their cashback. Seriously? Looking at other reviews, this seems to happen by using the same Wifi network, moving to a new home, or changing to a new device! Leave it to Coupon Cabin to make online cash back a Draconian experience! I have never had this much trouble with other sites. Been using ebates, retailmenot, mrrebates, topcashback, etc for YEARSSSSSSSS and no trouble. These other sites typically have much better deals so I am wondering about the incentive to block people so easily. Not sure why coupon cabin feels the need to blow things completely out of proportion... oh wait, they KEEP your cashback. They are adept at finding ways to keep you from earning your cash back so they can keep the money you earned. SHADY

There will likely very quickly pop up, as you can see with every other review similar to mine, the same canned response from Coupon Cabin. Sad
