THE WORST!
October 6, 2021

Awful online customer service. Placed an order in the app. NEVER received a tracking number. Called customer service 3 times…2 times I was left on hold for 30 minutes! 30 minutes! WTH The 3rd time I was disconnected after holding for 15 minutes. Unacceptable! I was told they would look into the tracking and email me. NEVER HAPPENED. This is the worst place to order from online. Would highly discourage anyone shopping online here.
Thankfully my order arrived.
No communication.
Extremely long wait on the phone.
Not trustworthy.
Zero stars.

We purchased a clipper from the local CosmoProf store and the clipper was defective right out of the box. Between the clipper, combs, and protection plan, we spend nearly $300 on it. Because of the return policy, we are not allowed to return the defective product even though it is brand new and within the 60 days of purchase. We have to work with the manufacture instead. I strongly recommend never purchasing anything from CosmoProf.

Poor Customer Service
September 23, 2020

I am very disappointed in Cosmo Prof and their customer service! I have been a customer for many years. I placed an order September 5th, it is now September 23rd. I have received partial shipment with no indication when I would receive the rest of my shipment. I have tried to call on 2 different occasions and was on hold so long that I had to hang up. I emailed customer service 2 days ago and have not received any response. That is VERY poor customer service.

They sent me a box of hempz lotions I did not order. They charged my account $240! So I disputed the charge and shipped it back. My card issued me a conditional credit. When they received the money from cosmoprof it was permanent. Now cosmoprof claims they credited my account PLUS paid my credit card and charged me for this box of lotions PLUS added a late fee. I talked with customer service like 4 times over the past week and they say they will call me back and don't. I even sent proof of my credit card statements that I never got refunded for this from them. So I lost $240.00? I am so tired of dealing with this mistake I didn't even make in the first place. I've been a loyal customer for 3 decades and this is how I'm treated.

Missing Orders
June 12, 2020

I placed an order two weeks ago and never received it, I messaged last week about it and have not heard back. I called the store where I ordered it from and they said it was delivered. So never getting it I placed the order again This morning for the same day delivery as I did for the first order. I called 10 min before the closed and asked if they have received it and they said the did and she was putting it together and that it was canceled and will not be sending it out. I looked on my order status On the app and it says it has not been canceled nor did I get an email. The store where I ordered it from was Fairfax VA

First, my experience@ 2 different local locations one@ Colonel Glenn in Beavercreek Ohio manager Jackie, Second, Wilmington Pike Centerville Ohio, manager Jeff - These managers are good to work with, staff as well. Now for my personal experience per corporate can't say the same. I wrote my review earlier in 2021 directly to them! Not my local stores. However, corporate did finally refund me frozen account because of a Amber not doing her job! Period. To get positive high quality service the CEO should check up on The human resource department on what idiots they're hiring. 80% of ALL successful businesses sores because of great upper management that being said 85% businesses fail because of lazy upper management, so ladies and gentlemen in the beauty world we will see which way the ball bounces in the near future! Lots of horrible reviews on here. What happens IF love & integrity was applied here? I always apply it in my business. It's standard! Upper management that is getting paid the "most money" in corporate Cosmo is absolutely the one that has to make the positive change in the good stuff and bad stuff always starts at the top and rolls downhill. Maybe... your next board meeting should be decisions being the difference we stylist need! God bless ur steps, for the steps of a Good man or woman is always ordered by Holy Jesus. As much as I love to shop from Cosmoprof which I have been a client for the past 15 year still to this day it was not a single time that I went to this specific location and not leaving the store with feeling that I was not welcome there. Unfortunately, this location is the only one close to me and I have no other choice. I can say this that the store manager is extremely rude and unprofessional. Today with her attitude I had enough of that and this company can consider this review for my first and last notice. Next time if I go there and that low class manage treat me with disrespect, it would be a new chapter in her life dealing with my lawyer. For such great company, it is shameful that they let such narrow minded person work there.

They was a video on Instagram with a employee who wouldn't return an item because of her skin town if this was a white Person returning something they wouldn't have thought twice about the return but because she was a women of color she decided to shame her and call her names! She needs not to work with ppl if you gonna be disrespectful & ignorant!

My friend is a massage theropist and decided she wanted to go get some back lotions and maybe some hair products from cosmoprof and it was a uncomfortable experience going in. The cashier lady walked straight to the back and didnt come back. There seemed to be nail polish all over everything and the makeup was like so overly priced for something so cheap

Bad customer service

I have had problem after problem with CosmoProf and recently with commenity. Hours trying to clear up my charge issue. Totally their fault and they have lied to me and to my mortgage company we are fully disgusted with them I will not step it in there again

When you place an order it says items are in stock, they charge you $9.95 shipping if you are not ordering more that $250, you look at your order history and it says canceled. When you call to inquire the customer service reps are rehearsed to tell you that "someone must have ordered it before you? Ridiculous! Horrible customer service. It says a lot about the integrity of the company!

Late charge
July 26, 2021

Not really good customer service! My mailbox was broken in to and all my mail was stolen. I miss my payment by two weeks and I pay everything in full as soon as I find out my mail was stolen. Customer service do not Care why my payment was late and would not wave my late fee. There's always an exception! Accident happens, just look at my payment history. Not happy about it. I am canceling my card. Not that they care lol 7/26/2021.

They lure you into the store with ads and don't have the product. Customer satisfaction isn't their goal and neither is ordering or stocking shelves. To order online is negative in every aspect. 3 out of the last 4 times I left the store ANGRY. Don't waste your time. Don't order online --- they sent 6 wrong tubes of color. I immediately noticed the order was wrong when they sent the order confirmation email. I tried to cancel. They said it can't be changed or edited once the order is placed. They said i could easily return it to any of their stores. I returned it to the findlay Ohio store WITH MY RECEIPT- just to be told the only way to "get my money back" was in a gift card. Seriously? I feel it was paid with a credit / debit card so IT SHOULD BE RETURNED TO THE SAME PAYMENT SOURCE. Absolutely wrong (and probably illegal in this state). Totally disgusting corporate / company behavior!

Poor customer experience
February 28, 2024

This is a general statement of the poor experience(s) I have had with this company. I make purchases for myself and a few of my family and friends only. After recently finding out that one of the two stores within a reasonable distance from my home has closed permanently, I now have one store to shop at. Without fail, every time I go there, they do not have the products I need on the shelf. I am constantly having to switch my hair color to something different because they either have one or no bottles on the shelf, leaving my hair in a hit-or-miss state as to whether I will get my color right or not. If that isn't bad enough, I have tried to order online several times and most of the products I need are not able to be shipped to store and I am forced to either choose something else or pay ridiculously excessive shipping costs for 2-4 bottles of hair color which often amounts to the cost of the products themselves. If the store has space for the products on their shelves and they purport to sell it, they need to HAVE IT ON THE SHELF. And if they can't handle that, they need to be able to order it for you but they can't do that either. The products I need are all sold on Amazon and I don't even need my license for it. I will NOT be ordering from cosmo prof again and going through this ridiculousness.

They stole my money
September 12, 2020

If i could give 0 stars, I would. Ive been a cosmoprof customer since I was in cosmetology school 4 years ago. The Modesto, Ca location on roselle has always been good to me, until I did a return transaction on September 8th. I made my purchase on the 3rd and it was pleasant, the staff were friendly. The girl who did my return didn't greet me, didn't speak at all. I said "hi. I just have a return." She was silent, took my bag and i handed her the receipt. She said nothing the whole time. I was never asked to insert my card for my return or to sign anything. Its been 5 days and I've not seen my $39.81 go back onto my card, in fact it looks like a purchase made on my account instead of a return. I will call customer service and see what they can do. Never again will I go to this location. Wish I would have got the employees name, but she wasn't wearing a name tag.

So this place I would rate as a zero my daughter went into the store just to see how long the 22 inch extensions would be for her hair and then our hairdresser was going to go and buy them and he ordered her out and insisted she's not allowed in there because she's not licensed so I went in with her so I could ask him to see which ones our hairdresser would come purchase and he ordered us out saying that we weren't license for purchase and I kept explaining that we weren't purchasing them we wanted to see which length was best so this store is the worst.

Buyer Beware

Recently purchased a GHD Helios dryer from the Cosmoprof website when it was on sale for $143.20. The first time I plugged it in it smelled like something was burning and the high heat setting began shooting cold air. GHD dryers are generally awesome and well built, but it appears I got stuck with a dud, and Cosmoprof refused to issue a refund or exchange, because their return policy states that a product can only be returned if it is "unopened". The advice given to me by the customer service (ha) rep was essentially, "take it up with the manufacturer" (pic included with review as proof).

While this makes sense for haircolor or shampoo, this is a ridiculous policy for styling tools. How do you know if it works unless you open the box and plug it in? Obviously, this policy enables them to sell defective or broken merchandise without having to accept responsibility. You'd get better odds buying used equipment at a yard sale!

I've had similar unhappy experiences with CHI flat irons and Wahl trimmers purchased at Cosmoprof in recent years, but truth be told, I would always just "grin and bear it" because I had a soft spot for this company-- I've been buying from them for most of the 20 years I've been in the salon industry. But things have gotten so bad the past few years that I can't in good conscience recommend this company to my colleagues or co-workers. It's harder than ever to make a living as a stylist, and licensed cosmetologists deserve better. But, hey, on the bright side, I now have a $143.00 paperweight.
