After three years of nonstop issues of phones not being able to maintain the network connection,HOURS every call to support, being spoken to like an idiot, hung up on, heard lies for excuses and the last incident of going 9 weeks without a phone, and had my bill paid to current, their solution was to offer me a $150 CRRDIT IF I purchased another 1200 phone since the first three I paid for didn't work. Three years with documented issues by their own company, and not ONCE was a single thing resokved to anyone satisfaction but their own! I'm satisfied that CC can kiss my A$$!
When disconnecting service, was told I would only have one more charge. Two months later was charged again even after I was told only one more charge. Spoke to customer service and then transferred to supervisor. Was threatened to be sent to collections if they took the second charge off. Consumer cellular does false advertising, lies to the consumers and threatens to send consumers to collections. BBB and consumers needs to know how bad their business practices are!
This company overcharges, then charges again to help you get it straightened out. Connectivity is NOT good. Customer service is also bad. Much as I hate to move yet again, I'm going elsewhere.
Consumer cellular says for senior. Never have I ever seen a phone so user unfriendly and no help from customer service.
ON 10/06/2023 I ORDER NEW SERVICE FROMCONSUMER CELLULAR, THEY CHARGE FOR SERVICE, TAXES, DELIVERY AND I NEVER RECIEVE MY PHONE AND AFTER ALL THIS CHARGES AT THE END I ONLY GET BACK $88.00 THE ONLY THING THEY DID WAS GIVEN ME THE APOLOGY. BEFORE UOU USE THIS COMPAÑY SERVICE MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT THE RIGH COMPANY OR LOSE YOUR OWN MONEY. SORRY BUT THIS IS TRUE!
DO NOT sign with Consumer Cellular! They are the ONLY company who charges customers for NOT using "AutoPay"! Plus they will automatically make changes to your plan WITHOUT your consent! Additionally, the don't care to listen to or follow the customer's requests. They are hard-nosed and say that they WILL NOT make any changes to how they treat their customers. I've filed complaints with the FCC and even still they do NOTHING! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMWHERE ELSE!
Ordered new phone & was not what I expected. Called CC to say I was returning it & to please restore service to my former phone. They said would take 1 to 24 hours. 24 hours later still not restored and told it would take another. 24 hours. I told them to cancel
My account, was told if I cancelled & signed with another company I could not keep my number. I had just paid my monthly bill ($33 plus and had a 00 balance) but now they are showing I owe more money. Maybe that is for the phone I will be returning? If they even send me the return label. I would not recommend Consumer Cellular.
I recently purchased a new phone and a plan from Consumer Cellular. I will admit that I appreciated being able to talk to an American and was not subjected to excessive phone robots before being connected to an actual person. My problem was that it took literally all day to activate my new phone and transfer the SIM because the first rep I spoke with, and who walked me through the process, omitted the last step, telling me everything was finished and my phone was ready to use. After she disconnected the call, I found my new phone didnt work, my old phone no longer had service, and I used my laptop to use the chat feature, where the chat rep helped me with the last step - the previous rep didn't tell me I had to scan the square on my welcome letter to start the SIM transfer. Voila! After an afternoon of this, finally my new phone works. I can't help it, I'm so tired of customer service reps who don't care; the rep I spoke to the first time seemed tired and was not listening to me, and omitting the last step was possibly just human error. What's good about this company is that they don't keep you on hold, it's based entirely in the US (and who hasn't struggled to understand the Asian accents of most customer care reps?). The prices and plans are excellent as well.
For 4 months now after installing SIM card I have been unable to pay online or try to change password to get into account, today I talked with tec from hell "Mykhel" talked over me around me through me it is customer error my fault I've paid online for 4 years up to new SIM card install but its customer error the rudest person of any customer service going to look for new provider today there would be another in the unemployment line if it was up to me, rude rude rude. Hope her bonus is nil this year maybe self help class, anger issues, but whomever can listen to my call
My phone number was stolen Consumer Cellular by a hacker, who then used my phone number to break into other accounts, including getting my credit card information. Because of this Consumer Cellular locked me out of my own account so could not follow up. I called about a bill I received and could not check up on since I was locked out of my account. I talked to a supervisor who waived this fee, but again, could not check to make sure this happened in my account since I was locked out.
After getting another bill months later, I again called. I am told the supervisor did not have the ability to waive a $16 fee, I am supposed to know this somehow. Additionally, I have other fees tacked on. They did not check into the conversations and yet I was judged at fault and was told liable for everything. The fee is almost double by now.
I have never dealt with a company who would not take responsibility for their own employees.
The only thing that anybody needs to know about this cell phone company is that they only go through Target. No more questions needed, not interested.
Am I smart enough yet? Why yes, yes I am. I'm so smart I don't now and will never use consumer Cellular.
You'd be better off buying straight talk which we all know is the most worthless company out there. Bet they're the same company or at least partners. They're both absolutely worthless. This is just another disgraceful company designed to rip off the elderly and low income.
While trying to switch service from Verizon to CC, reps were unable to do so leaving our phones locked for 14 days. They simply blamed it in Verizon calling them bad names. While one rep was apologetic and tried, the other ways dismissive, cavalier, and insulting. Absolutely the worst 3 hours of my life. Left the store without phone service and bitter. CC may have good rates, but they have no brick and mortar presence and sales force with little ability or concern for their customers.
My mom had Consumer Cellular for a couple of years. The overall home phone coverage was awful. There was a constant "clicking" noise during calls. She had constant interruptions in service. Customer service was just equally as bad. They say their customer service is based in the U.S. which I seriously doubt given my conversations with their reps. My mom switched providers for her home and mobile services. What a nightmare! Despite being told multiple times she had been released, service continued through Consumer Cellular. THEY ARE STILL WITHDRAWLING MONEY FROM HER BANK ACCOUNT MONTHS AFTER BEING TOLD SERVICE HAS STOPPED. It's been a battle. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CONSUMER CELLULAR TO ANYONE. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SENIORS.
Consumer Cellular, is targeting senior citizens They should be banned from providing service. Shame on this fraud.
I had been with Consumer Cellular for many years with no problems. I have noticed of recent that the American customer service reps, except for a few excellent ones, are increasingly rude, and have know-it-all attitudes without having much knowledge of the problems presented, so there goes that J.D. Power award, or at least it should.
The main problem though is absolutely disgusting beyond disgusting. After having trouble with an existing phone I bought other new ones, 3 more to be exact, and EACH had problems from the very beginning, so I sent them back, and each time this cost me extra money to do that.
I had also upgraded, and finally I had one that cost $199 that I sent back, but it was returned to me because they said it was damaged.
Indeed it was, but I had the phone for only a few days, and I never damaged it---THEY DID. They actually put some nasty scratches on it deliberately so that they could extract $199 from me, my word against theirs.
I did a consumer complaint, and very soon a rep called me up and gave me a professionally coached firm rebuttal blaming it all on me. Why they would want to do this in the first place for just $199 I do not understand but it is beyond dishonest and dirty.
When I persisted, they finally sent the damaged phone back to me, to keep, but would never take any ounce of responsibility, continuing to blame me, and the consumer complaint was dropped. So much for any follow-up, and that left me with many hours of work for nothing except a damaged phone.
This is one of the dirtier things ever done to me by a company, and I will never forget it, and have moved on for a while now. Just remember—they did it to me, so that means that they are capable of doing it to you as well.
Totally incompetent staff. I would truly give 0 stars if it were an option. They have no technical support. I've been hung up on and put on an indefinite hold. Is the worst experience I've ever had with cellular service.
I have been with Consumer Cellular for many years and have watched customer service tank as they got bigger. I have two 4 year old Motorola phones that Consumer Cellular kept hounding me to upgrade my SIM cards. They told me my phones would not work after 2023 without the new SIM cards. After I relented and installed the new SIM cards my phones stopped working. When I called Consumer Cellular customer support I was told "were sorry" your phones don't work with the new SIM cards. You need to purchase new phones. The customer service rep told me they have too many customers to be able to determine who has phones that won't work with the new SIM cards. After about 30 hours and after already purchasing new phones my old phones started working again but very sporadically and without voicemail. All voicemail messages were gone. When I called Consumer Cellular they said "were sorry" when you change SIM cards all voice mail messages are deleted. Consumer Cellular didn't tell me any of this ahead of time, they only keep saying "were sorry" after it is too late. They bricked my two existing phones forcing me to purchase new phones and deleted all my voice mail messages. Consumer Cellular customer support has gone from being one of the best to being one of the worst.
I have now been through two new phones bought through Consumer Cellular. They haven't worked. I have spent literally weeks with their so called tech support... 14 different people... and they refuse to replace my last $225 phone they sold me.
ZERO desire to stand by their products and ZERO desire to make any effort to satisfy their customer. "The book says..." and that's the end of their willingness to fix the problem
Consumer cellular never tells you about the $15.00 talking fee. They only tell the so call cheap plans. And lock you into paying there phones for 2years. DONT BUY FROM THEM
After months of horrible service I canceled my account. They continued to bill me and take money out of my checking account for service not rendered. It took 3 phone calls and weeks of rudeness on their end until they FINALLY stopped, but I ended up paying for 2 months of service I didn't get.
Answer: You can get a hold of them but it's a moot point given the service they provide
Answer: Legit company Scam on service and what they advertise.
Answer: Probably not since they barely can get costumer service
