Stay Away!

It appears coinbase is nothing more than a scam they took money out of my account and here I am 8 Days later because of what they say as security reasons I'm still not able to have access to my funds. They changed the rules in midair and have created nothing but a miserable experience. I urge anybody considering doing business with coinbase to take your money and run and don't look back... In my whole life I've never experienced anything more ridiculous. You've been warned!

To say worst customer service ever doesn't explain.
I've been locked out of Coinbase for 2 months, no fault of my own. It's a glitch on their end.
Zero customer service. No phone. No accountability.
It's an AI emailing and saying "your issue is being looked into by a specialist"
It isn't. I'm one of the countless customers locked out of life savings and Coinbase does not care.
Outrageously bad service by Coinbase. Having LA Times reporter looking into this untold story of how bad it is with CB. My Case # *******

It's your money!

I've been with coinbase and coinbase wallet about 2 years. Just know when you need your money it won't be available or it will be at a very high price. Recently, BTC hit 42,000+. My goal. I got no sleep for two days because there is no alert to wake you if you hit your goal. I did finally sell BTC@$41,740. I was only paid $41,540 per BTC. I tried to remove my other alt coins to sell from coinbase wallet and cannot. Fees are hundreds of dollars to move my money from my wallet. They also charged to put my money in my wallet. Customer service says it's due to system congestion. So I cannot sell those assets. Now trading is down due to maintenance. When prices are high, this is the norm. If you want to make money better look elsewhere.

Have asked them repeatedly for help with my verification process as I put in an abbreviation of my legal name. Got multiple copy and paste replies telling me to just go to my settings, despite the fact that it won't physically let me change my legal name.

You used to be able to ring them to discuss your issues but they stopped that. Typical greed cost cutting.

What a nightmare! As I am writing this, I have been trying to fund a new Coinbase account for four days. Their system would not link to my BOA checking account. Called customer support on day one and was told that their verification system (Plaid) was down. Contacted c/s and continued to try every day until day four. Told the same thing each day until they finally started blaming my bank (which is an approved Plaid bank). I tried auto account verification, manual verification, even tried to wire funds to the account. Nothing worked. Customer Support and the complaint departments are clueless and just kept repeating the same useless solutions. I finally gave up and went to TradeStation, where I had an account set up, attached to my bank accounts in less than 30 minutes. They were fully funded same day using wire transfer. My account funding was a fairly significant amount, so Coinbase lost a good potential customer to TradeStation. If you value your time, stay away from Coinbase!

Fees are outrageous

Coinbase nickel and dimes you to death until you are immune to the $20-$40 transactions fees--whether its transferring crypto, buy/selling, or trading. I think just in the past 2 months I have spent over $300 dollars in transaction fees with coinbase. I think they need to be investigated by the SEC. No other crypto exchange charges users this much for basic services. F'off Coinbase!

1st of all there is no live person to talk to. Takes for ever to resolve any of your problems
Your money disappears and they blame the hackers. It is definitely an inside job.
Unsecured site.
Got over crypto coins ($2000 value) magically gone.
They don't assume responsibility.
You are better of with a company that have live person that can solve your problem not a virtual one who can do nothing.
BE AWARE! DO NOT GET FOOLED
There are others legit crypto trading companies out there.

This company is crooks!

I used this company a couple of years ago to buy some crypto with no problem. I haven't checked it in a few months so I decide to do that today and after going thru the 2 step verification process (text & email) my access to my account was impeded do to the company requiring a photo of a government or state ID so they can solicit it to whom ever they want! I spoke to a customer rep. And they literally told me your money will be forfeited if you don't give us a copy of your state id. I asked can they transfer the money back to the account were it was funded from and they said no. This is a California based company, in the United States stealing peoples money openly and nothing is being done about it.

You have to be crazy to trade crypto on this site, this platform does not have market pricing and they take huge portions of your money to buy, sell and also charge you outrageous fees to transfer money from your bank into their account. I learned my lesson these guys need to be avoided at all costs.

Coinbase is an all around BAD INVESTMENT. I have wasted so much time trying to reach customer service for a mistake that coinbase made. There was an issue linking my bank account, and when I called my bank they said other bank customers have complained about having the same issue with coinbase. Coinbase tried to sell my crypto to cover a payment, and there was zero accountability or customer service. I tried to submit a ticket and file complaints with them and it kept routing me to a robot. So now I am selling all my crypto, not something I'd wanted to do, just so I can close this damn account and be rid of them. I do not feel this is a safe app to entrust with my finances. No customer service, no deal. And they take way too many fees for every transaction.

This needs to stop. Coinbase has the worst customer service. Meaning you can't even reach one so you are stuck not being able to access your account or trades for weeks. Horrible. CEO should be embarrassed

Customer service is a bad joke -- nad non existance. I've sent several emails over several weeks to have my bank account verified and not had anything more than an automated response back. Pathetic. Completely untrustworthy.

Coinbase is Trash

Their security is weak. I lost a little over 1 etherium. Some malicious actor accessed my account changed my password and stole my crypto. Coinbase s response was not helpful. They said all fraudulent transactions were irreversible. Beware Bull$#*!.

Their customer support leave much to be desired. Mostly suitable for US citizens. Although the website appeared to me as user friendly and multi functional I often experienced delays with transactions.

Coinbase is absolute GARBAGE!

Wish I could leave ZERO stars. I've made 100's of purchases, transfers, swaps, etc on Coinbase and never had an issue. Had my account for several years. About 4 months ago, they suddenly for no reason blocked me from buying crypto. I talked to multiple customer service people who were great. It was "expedited" or whatever. No one ever got back to me. It's been 3 months.

I got a random email saying we can't do anything with your account, we can't give you any reason, and try back in 30 days.

Realized I had another account, tried to add Paypal as a payment method, and of course, it wouldn't let me. Called support and chatted with them. Same issues. No reason or explanation. I'm done with Coinbase forever. They are the WORST. I'll stick to Crypto.com.

Terrible service
October 23, 2022

Terrible support. My account was breached (I think -- I cannot access it) weeks ago and I've been dancing around with horrible support people via email (can't reach them by phone and their chat is a rudimentary bot) who keep asking me to do things that I keep telling them don't work. Not sure they're human, seem like badly-programmed bots. However Mark fisher came through for me as he was able to get my money back, you can also reach him if you need help by sending a mail to Markfisherjr@ outlook.com

Recommended for all customers to resolve your issues. Thank You. I had no problems making several transactions. It was smooth so far. I believe some people have no patience or are awkward on how to use it. Only thing is find live support, but I think they will in the future when they expand staff.

They absolutely are dishonest! Mine said available instantly, which was total BS, it now says 3 week hold, my bank transferred right away, answered all of the bs security questions and id, customer support sends out canned emails that do not answer a thing or solve the problem of accessing my money! Totally Unacceptable, I believe they are just trying to make interest from our money that isn't available to us!

They have blocked sell/buy transactions just after I have bought crypto. No explanation, but 'we need an additional review' that may last 90 days. Customer service chat is not working. No response for e-mails. I read the article that "an additional review" means requesting sensitive personal and financial details. The most strange thing is the User Agreement. First, they can suspend activity w/o any explanation. Second, they may suggest due diligence meeting in person to accumulate info.

HORRIBLE!

Obviously outsourced customer service has no clue what they are doing. I am in hour 6 of trying to regain access to my coinbase account after it was hacked. Their technology is garbage, the customer service team is terrible. They have no idea how to help, if their script doesn't specifically address your problem you are screwed. There is no supervisor to escalate to or at least they won't let you escalate it. They just keep putting you on hold and letting you sit in limbo for endless periods of time and eventually just hang up on you. Call back? HAH! No chance. This company deserves to go bankrupt. The second I get into my account (assuming I ever do) I will be pulling all my crypto out. You should do the same.
