The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding the prevalence of scams and fake profiles on the platform. Many users report encountering numerous fraudulent accounts and ineffective customer service, with complaints about unauthorized charges and lack of support for refund requests. While some users appreciate the site's initial personality test and potential for matches, the overwhelming sentiment leans towards frustration with the quality of interactions and the site's reliability. This feedback suggests a pressing need for improved verification processes and enhanced customer support to restore trust and satisfaction among users.

This site is a rip-off when you look up a person they list a town or city with a photo town when
1go to another listing the same photo with a totally different town hundreds of miles apart., and a different state are any of these people real, casE in point 12/19/14, f/m SERIOUSDATING ******* IN INCOMING STUFF SHOWED LAURAL MT. I ALSO FOUNDLISTED IN ANOTHER LINE UP WITH THE ADDRESS OFNEWINGTON CT. THERE ARE MORE I FOUND THAT AFTER PAYING FOR UPGRADED SERVICE IT ONLY GOT WORSE AFTER MANY REQUEST TO END MY SERVICE I WAS CUT OFF AND TOLD TUFF LUCK NO REFUNDS AFTER ONLY A DAY OR TWO I WANT AREFUND AND OUT OF THIER SITE COMPLETELY THANK YOU, DAVID ZANDERS
The website's functionality is compromised. I get email notifications with links to the site, but then the site is down and/or the notifications are inaccurate. The customer care is deplorable. The live chat agents (and I'm not sure if I should even use the plural here) take forever to get to you, don't seem to understand plain English, provide obviously canned responses and are unhelpful. Email customer care provided me with an equally canned, equally non-responsive request for help. There is no live customer care. Since I joined the site, it does not seem to me that it has worked properly even once --- a total and complete waste of money.
Chemistry is the worst dating site I've been on. There system for matching is a joke. An ad for it popped up while I was on another site. For a lark, I filled out the ridiculous, pseudo-scientific questionnaire. Then I was signed up. I called them; I wanted to redo my "test," but NO (not allowed because "your 1st response is the most accurate"). Problem with this and other sites is they match you up as well as possible, then start sending you matches you have nothing in common with (except location)? Really! I am an atheist, I don't want to see Baptists or conservatives. Good point is that (unlike match.com), I complained and they refunded my money).
Absolute scam! The site is heavily infected. Within 2 week of joining, I received over 50 bogus e-mails or "winks" from woman whose "accounts are no longer available." Then there was the proliferation of bogus and inane e-mails from woman who wanted you to contact them on separate e-mails - probably foreign-based.
Worst on-line dating experience ever for me and I have been on multiple sites over the years. Due to their affiliation with Match.com (which up-sells the site) they are somehow able to survive with minimal quality control. Also, they don't stand behind their product and will not refund when hearing about the ongoing and unrelenting product issues.
STAY AWAY!
Absolutely FULL of scammers!
In 3 months I received 21 'winks' and 12 messages of interest.
Exactly 75% of both were from fake profiles.
DO NOT waste your money!
Literally within 30 min. Of me signing up I received a scam email. It has continued on a daily basis for two weeks. It's absolutely unacceptable that you pay money for to get scammed. I've written to the site, and of course there is no reply. Stay away.
I signed up today, filled out the questionnaire. I subscribed for a month. They send you a pump-you-up feel good profile. Immediately you get a half-dozen emails saying so-and-so is interested, you have new mail, etc. When you try to look at the profiles, they are all "no longer available". Later when I tried to log on again, the site would not let me back on and kept telling me to subscribe all over again. What a waste.
Just look at these links on the Consumer Affairs.com Business Scam Website concerning the top 3 dating websites!
Do not join, I repeat do not join any online dating site that you have to pay for -- meaning paying for an upgraded membership (subscription) where that you can actually contact the other members. In other words, no pay, no contact! All of these sites are employing the good ol' bait-and-switch tactic, where that if it seems to good to be true, it most definitely is!

I warn you to have nothing whatsoever to do with these sites or any dating site that requires you to pay out your hard earned cash. Let the reviews speak for thenselves! You have been warned. By the way, I am an activist, so shining the light of truth on the darkness of deceit is my moral obligation.
Don't go there! Waste of money! I was on it for 3 months. Got nothing! They don't have any active members. Their matching services is awful, they don't care about your preferences at all. Stay away from it!
This site has a ton of scammer/phishers that are in Africa and not based in the U.S. Although all of the profiles state they are located very close to your proximity. I encountered four separate incidents where this happened to me. I reported it to the support group for chemistry.com, but all they do is remove the profile. They do not put any type of mechanism to weed those type of individuals. In addition to this occurring, the site itself looks like an after thought. It's very simplistic in design and functionality. Also, there have been times when the site wouldn't function properly. I would get logged off for maintenance, but then could log into the site via a different browser.
I always ask everone to take my reviews with a grain of salt since I only rate websites by my own personal experiences and Chemistry is no exception here.
There is not much I can say about it during the 3 months I've tried it. Your matches are even more limited than on eharmony and their 'expert' dating quiz is suspect to me like pretty much all online dating compatability quizes/surveys. To be honest I had better luck just sitting at a bar minding my own business or just being at work than I did on both Chemistry and Match.com. Maybe Chemistry will work for whoever is reading this I don't know.
For me chemistry.com does have good chemistry and for me this makes it a good site. I like how the site gets people involved in the chemistry (forgive the pun) of finding each other. I don't like its methods though especially when it comes to it dealing with people's bank accounts but the site still has some good in it. Chemistry is about taking a bad lemon and making good come out of it. After all isn't that what chemistry is all about anyway?
They completely suck! I signed up on 7-17-10 and my account was disabled on 7-18-10 for no reason I could figure out. I sat on hold for 27 minutes and when I finally got someone on the phone, she said she could activate my account and that the reasons would be in an email that would be sent to me. When I got the email it said they terminated my account for reasons they couldn't tell me and that it was in the best interest of the member community!?! I was really hurt and confused because all I did was respond to the matches they sent me and I used their canned responses! I didn't even email any of the gentlemen because I did not want to proceed that quickly. These people are nut jobs and I can only hope that I get my money back!
Was subject to an untwated billing renewal after I discontinued the service and they would only give half my money back. I will never use this dating site again.
Good security initially. Average in all otherways. VERY expensive for what you get compared to similar services.
Got lots of matches at first, but then figured out most of those matches were old and/or deactive. Once I started getting matches they were the same people I saw on the local free dating pages.
Bad dating - This sight has inactive matches that you are sent. I sighned up for 6 months and only received matches for about 3 months. After that I recieved pictures, and when I would put them in an active area. Wait for a reponce and then put them in archives. Then you can see that they are not active.
I contacted the company, they did nothing.
I would not do this sight again
Answer: Yes, this is a scam! These people are going to ask you for money when you exchange a few emails. Chemistry is 100% scammer infiltrated. They don't verify people's profiles and photos and they never ban scammers. There are sites that care about their integrity and therefore work honestly: http://J4Love.net is the one I can definitely recommend because it was actually very useful for me and a couple of friends. I had totally hideous experience with Chemistry.
Answer: If it is done through a link do not open. This is how they hack into your account and send viruses to your computer.
Answer: Today is your last day - BE GLAD AND CELEBRATE!
Answer: I think you're going to have to call or chat with a customer rep. I actually had that happen on Match.com and they were very helpful. You can look online to get the contact information. Good luck!
Answer: I agree. However, what bothered me is the matching process. There are only a limited number of men that matched me. So, when they ran out of matches, they sent me everyone! I called to cancel and asked for my money back and they did refund the amount of money I hadn't used. I didn't get any dates at all.
