I bought a velhicle from carvana a year ago, It has been nothing but a nightmare, should of listened to all the reviews. The sell you a extended service plan which is supposed to be covered by Silverrock and when you call them they give you the run around and say they will contact you back and they never do and when you call them back they say they time limit has expired for your claim and they will not cover it total BS. I honestly think its a money scam. DONT BUY FROM THEM YOU WILL REGRET IT!
Purchasing a vehicle from Carvana is hell.
1) There are multiple individuals who have access to your account.
2) They will ask you to upload the same information a thousand and one times; with added request. Example: I was asked to upload my insurance information multiple times { I did} I even sent over the declaration page. However, that still wasn't good enough. "The Carvana Team" {because it is never one particular individual} wanted my insurance information to have the NAIC code; even though they had my insurance cards along with the declaration page.
3) I was asked to verify and prove my residency several times. Even though they had already delivered me a car to my residence that I had to return { that was a whole other nightmare} back to proving my residency I was asked to upload an utility bill { I did} a phone bill { I did} drivers license registration { I did} the same identification documents that I used to purchase the vehicle which I only had for five days and returned was suddenly not good enough. Why do I have to keep uploading the same information over and over again? Why am I being requested for additional information that was not required previously; less than a week ago? Why is Carvana's purchasing policy "different" for each vehicle? Any other car dealership have the policy across the board. I was told " We do things differently" well differently doesn't always mean better. In this case different is not better. Carvana sends their customers through hell to purchase a car - HELL. I am serious avoid at all possible purchasing a vehicle from Carvana.
Submitted my 2005 Ford F150 with a NADA book value of over $6500 to Carvana and they came back with an offer of only $200, what a joke.
People don't waste your time with these clowns.
I want to start off by saying that the reviews on the Carvana site itself are misleading because if you return your car, which I did, you do not get to post your feedback. So individuals with poor experiences that result in returning the car aren't represented.
Not to be redundant, I did return the car I purchased via Carvana 48 hours after it arrived. The exterior condition was far worse than had been described, the interior smelled awful (as if there had been some sort of water damage), the windshield had a crack, one of the key fobs did not work and the brakes made noise. The interior was filthy to the point where the buttons were unreadable. All issues that were obviously not disclosed as part of the "150 point inspection"...
I took the car to my mechanic to inspect who informed me that I would immediately need $1,000 worth of brake work in addition to "sooner rather than later" new tires.
I attempted to contact Carvana to express my concerns and was promptly put on hold for so long, I had to hang up. Only when I gave up and said I wanted to return the car did I get somewhat prompt customer service.
To their credit, they did come and take the car back, posting it back for sale immediately. Since I had "favored" the car when I was looking, I've been alerted to the fact that it has been sold and again returned in the 4 weeks since I had it.
We decided to upgrade to a new Honda Civic. The dealer we were purchasing through offered $2000 for our trade in, which we refused. Few days later when we were picking up our new Civic they offered $3,500, which we also refused becasue the KBB trade in vlaue was between 5-$5800 for Civic's with similar milage and in similar shape and dealers were then sellign that year civic from 8K and up and Carvana was selling them for@ 9K. I decided to see what Carvana would offer, so I loaded a few pics, and gave them all the info. Carvana offered a laughable $1,200... I listed my car locally on Craigslist for 7K and sold it within 4 days. Check the KBB value of your vehicle and then list it yourself, do not take Carvana's offers because they offered a fraction of of the KBB.
We bought a car that they said they did a 150 point inspection and their website says they do an oil change. We picked up the car and the check engine light was on, two brake/tailights were oiut, fluids were le, it was low on gas and they didnt even bother to do the emissions certification which state law requires BEFORE w dealer can sell a car. They told us "oh its all covered under the first 7 days of warranty" just take it to a preferred repair facility. We called four and they all declined it because they said they dont get paid. Carvana agreed they didnt do their 150 point inspection or even an oil change but then refused to make it right or do it. The car needs thousands of dollars of work and says to call Silver Rock to "work it out". Silver Rock told us to call Carvana because it was their misrepresentation. They dont stand behind their promises. Very dissappointed. But the worst is you cant call anyone except some random customer service number who then doesnt know anything. Returning the car it looks like because we feel lied to.
I wish I could give Carvana zero stars. The condition of the vehicle we purchased was severely misrepresented, in the words of our Toyota certified mechanic. Yet Carvana's warranty company SilverRock will cover only 27% of the repair bill, leaving us with over $1800 in repairs and maintenance before we have driven the vehicle anywhere except to the mechanic for inspection. If we return the vehicle to Carvana we forfeit the delivery fee of $1790, so either way we lose. I have made multiple calls to Carvana's customer service only to be read a script about how they want to "take care" of me and "advocate" for me. But when I ask exactly HOW they plan to advocate for me, there is no answer. The supervisor with whom I had my most recent conversation (Edith) offered to ask SilverRock (their warranty company) why they wouldn't pay more towards repairs (SilverRock has already answered this question) but refused to ask SilverRock to reconsider. Clearly she does not know the meaning of the word advocate. Also clear is the fact that SilverRock is a warranty/insurance company and their business model revolves around keeping payouts at a minimum. DO NOT BUY FROM CARVANA. They care nothing about their customers, and working with them will only lead to disappointment, frustration, and unplanned for repair bills. I am now going to my state's attorney general's office to make a complaint. The more people who know about Carvana's unethical business practices, the fewer people Carvana will be able to take advantage of in the future.
I attempted to purchase vehicles from CARVANA twice - once on December 2021 and the 2nd attempt was on April 2022. On both attempts I had a bad experience with CARVANA. I posted a video detailing by bad experiences with CARVANA here: https://youtu.be/5EBB_CujmtY
For a billion dollar corporation, Carvana sure likes to nickel and dime customers and doesn't negotiate at all. I ordered a car online and once delivered I discovered some mechanical flaws that would need to fixed. You get a worthless warranty in the fact that you can only use their preferred shop for repairs. In my case it was a tire and muffler place and the car was a BMW. The guy at the muffler place even said -this should go to the BMW dealership. But Carvana wouldn't budge and I returned the car. I was told that my replacement would cost 600 for shipping but they would credit me 300 for my trouble with the BMW. Received the new car which is great! A day later Carvana overdrew my account by charging me 700. I called and they told me my shipping was actually 1000 minus the 300. So now I have to return a car I love because Carvana won't swallow 400 dollars to keep a customer even though their representative didn't tell me the truth. I won't ever buy anything from them and you shouldn't either
First my car was scheduled for delivery on a certain day but it didn't show up. So I called and they told me they hadn't even finished the inspection so my car was finally delivered 3 weeks after the scheduled day. Then my paperwork was mailed to me and it was wrong so I had to call and request them to fix and resend all my documents. They did and I sent it all back. Over a month later they were still saying they never got my papers. I called and asked them for new registration paperwork so I could send it in. They told me to give it a week and call again if they didn't get my paperwork. So I was supposed to call them if they didn't get my paperwork. It seems like the didn't. I made 4 payments on my car when they redid my whole contract. They messed up my loan and made it look like I was over due by all of my payments. It took them about a week and constant pestering for them to fix it. Once that was fixed they took 2 payments when I only authorized 1. Do not buy from this company. They are shady.
My son is in the military and 20 years old. He is stationed in SC so we helped him buy a car and did it through carvana so that we could get it dropped to him. We even planned a trip so that I could sign for it as the primary on the loan. Everything up to that point was amazing. They dropped the car off we gave the driver the check and showed the insurance information. Then it all went to garbage. Carvana reaches out a few weeks later saying that either the driver lost the check or we did not provide one. Which, would they have actually given us the car if we didn't provide the check? Is that really a possibility? My son is the co-applicant on the loan so I told them we can get the check reissued through our credit union but I can sign it however he is in SC. The rep comes back and says Navy Fed has lightened there restrictions for co-applicant loans your signature will suffice. Send the check in, get an email a week later we are sending you the check as it's missing a signature. Go back and forth with them. End up having to get the check signed by my son as well. Then they reached out and his insurance policy is no good on the car It has to be in my name in order to register the vehicle. None of this by itself is terrible but everything that could go wrong went wrong and they communicated none of it until the last minute. His temp registration is about to run out and there is no time to get it all done. His car can't be on base unregistered so its a complete disaster. I would never recommend carvana to anyone. They have no idea what they are doing. Their people are all very nice though even through my frustration they keep their calm and are very polite but its just not worth the hassle
All their cars are way over bluebook prices, they over charge and will not trust you will have a 2 hour conversation with your bank and waste your time and delay an order that was supposely approved when it realy isnt. Do NOT BUY OR CONSIDER THESE SCAMMERS THAT WANT TO SUCK YOU IN FOR WAY MORE THAN THE CARS ARE WORTH AND YOUR DIGNITY,
So l bought a car, the price was a little high, but it was low mileage and very clean. According to them it only had 3 small chips. Picked up the car on a cloudy day, did a walk around, seemed pretty clean in the low light. Drove home, the sun came out, and lo and behold, found 2 dents in the door, multiple dings in the chrome liners around the windows(5), and a 1 inch scrape nearly to the metal, none of which were shown or reported in their picture on the website. Took it to my mechanic who said it was mechanically a good car, but it had had bodywork and a paintjob, on a 5 year old car. As most of the unreported dings and dents were pretty minor, l decided to keep the car. Received registration paperwork within 1 week of my 3 day grace period, but not the check for sales tax in my state. Was told it would arrive in 3 days. 3 days later, nothing. I called, they admitted the error was in their end and promised to overnight it. 4 days later, l still haven't received it. Called, and asked where it was, they tried blaming the post office. I asked for the tracking numbers, but they said they didn't have them(pure BS, nothing is overnighted without a tracking number.) Asked to speak with the department that sent it, was told they didn't do customer service, so l couldn't talk with them. Absolutely the WORST customer service l have had from a car dealership. Between the covering up of flaws and the customer service, l will never do business with them again.
I ordered a car from Carvana, completed the E-paperwork, got the financing done, uploaded all my documents and got my delivery date. Day of scheduled delivery: The truck showed up with the WRONG CAR then they said so sorry and we will come back with the correct car (I asked to please bring me the car that matched the VIN Number of the car that I purchased!). An hour later I called Carvana to follow up on the issue and guess what? They CANCELLED my order. Told me I could "re-buy" buy the correct car (that I already did purchasing for) if I put down a deposit to hold it since it was not available anymore. The deposit was needed to lock the car so someone else would not purchase it.
Okay, I have screenshots of all the completed items and delivery date so I guess they were covering up the fact that someone messed up and they wanted me to go away.
Please Carvana, don't retreat people this way. I can't believe it. I did EVERYTHING right. And they just Cancelled my purchase because THEY SCREWED UP. Where they covering up their mistake? Did they decide to raise the price and re-sell it to someone else? I wish I knew.
I recently purchased a 2016 Acura LX from Carvana. I had the car inspected by my mechanic that I have gone to for 10 years and he told me that the car had horrible body work done and had obviously been in at least one accident. The car also had a tremendous amount of rust and would likely cost me a signifigant amount of money in the future so the mechanic recomended I return it. Carvana gave me no trouble as they have a pretty straightforward 7 day return policy. I picked out another 2016 LX with ******* less miles on it then the first one I got, and had that one inspected as well. The report on this car was even worse then the first one. It had been in several accidents, had awful body work and paint job, was giving them error codes, and also had a probelm with the transmission. Carvana says none of their cars have been in accidents and they all go through a 175 point inspection. I would really like to see those points because I truly think they are a scam company who attempts to sell lemons to people. In addition to the $400 I spent to have both cars inspected, the situation has also caused me a great deal of stress. I am returning the second car and will not be trying out a third "accident free 175 inspection point" piece of $#*! from Carvana. I would highly recomend everyone stay away from this company.
I decided to give this Carvana thing a try after having no luck with the local dealerships in finding a good used car for my wife. Every time it was the same thing, the vehicle I was interested in was sold before I could get there to see it. Then I found a vehicle on Carvana. I had my own financing with my credit union. Completed the purchase a scheduled the delivery. Carvana cancelled the delivery because they couldn't verify my loan. I rescheduled 3 more times all the while Carvana had my $5400 deposit. Each time over three weeks Carvana said the same thing, they couldn't verify the funds. I mean they even had the certified check for $22k. What more could I give them? I just wanted to buy a car for my wife. I finally had enough and cancelled the order. Now I have to wait 14 days for a refund. Really? They took my deposit electronically 1 hour after I completed the purchase and had it for three weeks! They told me they needed to verify the funds before they can issue a refund. WTF! I don't understand the way they stay in business and after reading the reviews and seeing they are banned in several states from conducting business I understand why. Steer clear of Carvana! Don't say you never were warned.
We spoke with a total of 3 carvana representatives 2 via phone and 1 we chatted with as well. We did this In hopes this would help my wife and I understand the carvama experience as this was our first time...But in our experience the "right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing"
We selected a vehicle that offered free shipping first off.But they charged us $300 for shipping the vehicle from one partner vendor to another vendor and because they had to do that...The fee comes out of our deposit and is non refundable in the event we don't like the car...
To add insult to injury we had our vehicle scheduled for pick up on a Wednesday evening but because they didn't get the delivery timing down our pick up was delays by 3 days and the only time slot available is one that my wife and I are going to have to miss work for just to go to a "dealership" to pick up our vehicle.
I will say the initial paperwork and preapproval process was great (This is why the 2 stars)...But everything follwing the initial paper work was completely downhill.
Carvana pitches a seemless and efficient experience but overall I'm disappointed in our 1st and potentially last experience with Carvana.
Hope this helps pull the curtain back on the whole Carvana Experience.
Worst experience ever there is no urgency they do not respect the customers time! I would never do business with them again!
Answer: "Customer Service"? There is no customer service. It's just email runaround and they sell the car out from under you without even telling you. And... they keep your deposit. It's more like customer DIS-service
Answer: Don't buy from them. The are just like used car salespeople. No difference! Rip-off!
Answer: I had the most amazing time buying a car through Carvana; I got a loan quikly, got my car in a couple weeks and the car is an awesome car; its all registered for me and I just got it inspected, passed no problem. My car only had 42,000 miles on it and rarley was driven. YES get a car from Carvana they are so great! My payments are super low too.
