CarShield using American Auto Shield is a joke. They provide aftermarket parts and no warranties. I was lied to about the cost of the parts. I was told the dealership part was $800 but they had the same part for $600. I called AAS back and made the rep go through what they were actually paying and was told the part was only $267.68. AAS is making CarShield look bad and loose customers. All the money I'm coming out of pocket for this repair could have been paid with the premium I pay for this plan! It's just not worth it.
My 2011 Chevy Cruze needed a new turbo charger. I took it to my local Chevrolet dealer. They spent nearly 3 weeks just trying to get an approval from Car Shield to do the repairs. Car Shield adjusters either wouldn't return calls from the mechanic or would not show up, when promised. I tried calling Car Shield's customer service department. They would refer me to the adjuster at the company that actually pays for the repairs. Car Shield is only a broker, not an insurance company! They represent numerous car warranty insurance companies that actually provide extended warranty coverage. I was transferred from one department after another and got nowhere! I was at the mercy of an inefficient system that had no concern for the fact that I was without my car for 3 weeks. I finally had to threaten to have my attorney call them before they finally gave the dealership an approval to fix my car! They never sent an adjuster (they claimed was necessary)! The approval was given over the phone! I never got an apology or any attempt to provide any alternative transportation while I was stranded at home. Horrific experience and inexcusable behavior from a company that advertises themselves to be such a money saving, responsible, dependable, life saving service! Their advertising is a con job! They also charge nearly double the monthly fee than other car warranty providers!
They don't do what they say they are going to do and people answering the phones are rude and disrespectful. The company doesn't care about the consumer and left a family with no vehicle

I needed a cooling fan assembly to fix my AC.on my Nissan Versa. After we wasted about a hour the
Lady told the Mechanic that they did not cover the part. The total bill came to 595.00 and with the 100 dollar deductible all it was costing Car Shield was 495 dollars. Needless to say I canceled the policy. When I asked for a refund they said it was over the 30 warranty. STAY CLEAR OF THESE CROOKS
Dont go with carshied. I was kind of scammed and not explained/suggested about the vehicle titles, unfortunately I was new to US and was not aware what they mean by 'Branded Title'. I was charged for an year time for my savaged title vehicle, and they denied my claim for my engine repair mentioning it is Branded title. Why cant Carshield check before offering or charging me using my VIN? I was even denied for 1 week of rental allowance. Its almost $1000 I paid for coverage but all was just eaten away by carshied I didn't a penny out it when I struggle.

DON'T BUY THIS COVERAGE! I would give them a zero if i could. I grilled their sales people about coverage for my convertible top and was promised it would be covered if it broke. Well, it broke and now they are pointing to a place totally buried in the contract that seems to list every single part of the car (and i dug through the contract with a fine tooth comb before purchase) to say the break isn't covered. Now, not only am I out the $120/month for the last six or so months, but am faced with an $1800 repair bill. The car isn't driveable because the top is stuck down. I asked for a refund and they won't do that either. Oh - and this is after being given the run-around and being hung up on by the plan administrator (american auto shield). I have the "diamond" coverage, but i think what that really means is i pay more for nothing in return.
Not only do they find loop holes to avoid covering you but the representatives take it personally when you call to cancel the service, the rep. Argued back and fourth with me although I just wanted to cancel, he said " You should have read the agreement" although I called and asked them several times what would be covered, my part was covered but because of how it broke even through I did nothing wrong they found a way out, as I was cancelling the rep asked to place me on hold, I said that's fine but I sat on hold for at lease 10 minutes I went home the call dropped in the garage so I called back got the same exact rep. He asked " did you hang up the call" I said no i entered a garage he asked to place me on a 3-4 minute hold AGAIN so I asked if it would actually be a 3-4 minute hold because I held much longer the 1st time, he paused for so long I thought the call dropped again I had to say "Hello" he then blitzed through cancellation terms and then hung up on me like he actually ended the call said goodbye and hung up on me If you were able to blitz through like that and then hang up on my why did you place me on hold to begin with? Then ask to place me on hold again? He took my wanting to cancel very personal, I did not want to argue or talk I wanted to cancel that's it. I'm disgusted with the whole experience from start to finish.
Car Shield is an absolute scam. They take your money and don't cover anything when the time comes. I paid for a platinum service for over 7 months, and when something actually happened to it, they wouldn't cover it. Said they don't cover "dry parts." Well, when I spoke to their representative months ago he said platinum covers everything including the transmission and that's where my problem is located.
They'll just take your money like the crooks they are. Go with anyone else.
I've been with CarShield for three years at a rate of about $90/month so I've wasted almost $3500 with this company when I finally needed to use the warranty CarShield would only cover $350 for an aftermarket part even tho they claim they don't cover aftermarket. Then I had a fuel pump issue with my 17' kia and they wouldn't cover because according to them they cover fuel system not fuel pump. These people are a scam! I would never recommend this company!
This company tries its best to NOT PAY FOR your car problems! I went passed my mileage required, past the probation period, did everything and just so happen months later I have an issue with my vehicle and they say this COULD BE A preexisting problem! My mileage and is all the same from the last maintenance to the carfax! I STRONGLY URGE AND PRAY FOR OTHER FAMILIES WHO WORK HARD AND GIVE COMPANIES LIKE CARSHIELD THE BENEFIT NOT TO! This is NOT cool by any means and please read my review and look elsewhere! My car has been in the shop now for over 2 weeks teared down waiting on the adjuster to determine if he/she wants to fix my car! PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! It will only put you that much more in a bind….
I had the Gold since Sept 2022, AC went out the start of this summer. Took my Denali to GMC. They called me the next day and told me that Car Shield was going to look for a used AC, the dealer said "we don't install used parts So Car Shield hung up on them". Dealership told me So I called Car Shield and they told me the same thing. I told them that I'm not putting a used compressor on my $80K truck and they hung up on me!
TOTAL RIPOFF! I canceled 3 months ago and they still text telling me I'm 3 months behind! Pure STUPIDITY!
I payed about 3-4 months and my car was making noises and Carshield didn't want to fix anything wrong because they gave me an excuse that inspection had 6 months already on top of that when I called they took a month just let me me know they couldn't do anything. So waited and and gave us an excuse not to do it. I payed 140 for maybe 3-4 months and did nothing. The person that scammed us to get it said it was fine that we did oil change and things like that and when it was time to repair my car they said there was no proof I did any work. A bunch of scammers don't get it and it takes more than a month to ever get it fixed because they ask for pictures and proof and more proof. Literally the shop we took it to said it was too much for them to do and had to hire someone to check the car. Ridiculous you have to call them 50 times to see what they want next… your better off paying full price for getting your car fixed.

If 0 was an option I'd put it. A dishonest company using various different companies when charging my card. They harass you with telemarketing to get you to sign up, and once you do, they disappear and will make up any excuse to not pay the repair bills. I had 15k damage on my car and they are denying to pay my bill for no valid reason. Stay away from them!
I took my car to PEP BOYS to get the front controller arms & suspension replaced on my 2016 VW Passat. CarShield approved the parts but DID NOT COVER the labor as per my CONTRACT. They said that they use "industry labor tables" to pay the labor. That was NEVER EXPLAINED to me! I SPOKE TO THEM ABOUT THIS, THEY REFERRED ME TO AMERICAN CAR SHIELD- WHEN I SPOKE TO AMERICAN CAR SHIELD, THEY SAID ALL THEY DO IS HANDLE/ADMINISTER, CLAIMS--SO THEY IN TURN TOLD ME TO CALL CAR SHIELD. AFTER ABOUT 3 HOURS OF BEING SHUFFLED AROUND, NOTHING WAS RESOLVED. TOTALLY DISSATISFIED AND DISILLUSIONED ABOUT CAR SHIELD--WE HAVE BEEN GOOD PAYING CUSTOMERS FOR 3 YEARS PLUS!
