I am the same as everyone else paid my money no goods avoid these con men at all costs its no use trying to contact as they don't respond to phone calls or e mails I have now ordered my paint elsewhere wish I had read reviews before ordering bd Henley oxon
I thought I was on my own trying to get my order or money back until i stumbled across Trust pilot and saw all the reviews here - I have exactly the same issues as everyone else.
First they emailed me to say its on its way, then a day later to say they have lost the order - what? - polite email back to them and nothing despite a barrage of emails from me threatening trading standards and legal action - I've now informed all the classic car forums I'm on about their service and and have asked my bank to get the money back - what's wrong with these people?
Update:
Contact Sally Burton at West Lothian Trading Standards - just email them and she will get your money back - they claim they sent it out - yeah right
Having read some of these reviews after ordering I was slightly wary. There was no need tho, my order has arrived 7 days after placing it and there has been constant communication from them.
Will definatly use them again.
Appalling! I should have read the reviews before ordering paint from them. They were fairly quick to send an email claiming the paint was on its way, BUT IT WASNT. After a while a further email saying they couldn't find the paint colour from my Reg - so why do they claim they can do this? I had to email them the paint code and the name of the colour. I am still waiting, 5 weeks after the initial order for some sort of response.
In common with most respondents I have waited an age emailed, phoned and then lo! Got the paint this morning, oh wrong colour my car is grey not bright blue, shook the container for a few minutes to make sure, no all wrong, mind it does smell funny, took it to my mate, a car sprayer and he says it's isocyanate and is banned and extremely flammable too.
Daren't tell the postman that.
Told citizens advice about it though
Suggest others do too.
Wish id have seen this site before! Ordered 1 set of paint in June arrived no problems. Ordered a second set 18 aug and guess what no paint as of 6 september. Emails are returned undelivered and calls not answered. Keep away from this site its unbeliveable that nothing has been done about them and they still continue to trade! Trading standards will be receiving a complant about them from me. Hope the cowboys get shut down and as other reviewers have said spend a little extra and get the paint from the dealers at least you won't lose 25 pounds to a dirty robbing *******!
I ordered paint 0n 7th April 2014, money taken immediately by WorldPay but still waiting for paint nearly 4 weeks later. They don't answer phone, just has a message saying emil them and they will answer within 24 hour! Emailed them several times over the next three weeks and each time they eventually replied saying the order would be dispatched shortly. Eventually they stopped answering. Still no paint. Have demanded a full refund but don't hold out much hope. Treat this Company like the plague, they appear to be running a scam. I suggest the fraud squad should investigate them.
Where is my paint as ordered? If unable to fulfil order please refund. No reply to phone calls and E. Mail. Why are you still trading if unable to fulfil orders?
I only wished I had checked the reviews before buying from this company. I paid for paint that was not required, full return refund was promissed, they do NOT take returns. They simply refuse to answer e mails. How can a company that has the reviews on this site still be trading? Not responding to customers, lying about your terms and conditions, do yourself a big favour and steer clear. victorbennetttales.co.uk
I sent my reg and was emailed to say paint was on its way. When it didn't come I emailed them to be told they were having trouble determining my paint code. I sent them the paint Code and the name of the colour, and have heard nothing, despite repeated emails and messages left on their answer-phone. They have taken the money from my account and sent me nothing
I have been waiting 3 weeks for my paint. The only response I get from them is that they have been on holiday up until 18th July and have a massive backlog. All should be resolved within 7 days. It is now Aug 24th and still no paint or direct correspondence from them. I fear the worst!
Avoid. Two updates since my previous review: 1) I've bought the paint from paints4u, they are excellent. 2) I've received a refund from carpaintrepair. Here's how: Google "trading standards citizens advice". You can't contact Trading Standards directly, unless you are a business, but Citizens Advice will contact them for you. Citizens Advice and Trading Standards are both friendly and helpful. Do pursue a refund, even for a small amount. Trading Standards are watching this "trader", but they are grateful for more evidence. (I've put "trader" in quotes because, as they do not often send any goods, they do not trade.)
Not a question. But want a answer, to why paint that ordered over 3wks ago hasn, t arrived. I have googled address and there is no CarPaintRepair shop there. Right where the shop should be is a Trader under the name of LothianBody Shop. Weird.
AVOID***Order placed 26 Feb, advised shipping shortly on March 3rd. Nothing by the 8th, sent e-mail & got reply stated it had been sent, allow a few more days. Nothing by the 14th so mailed again, no reply. Still nothing today 21st, asked for refund. I guess that is my money gone!
Ordered paint for my car on the 30th of june, its now 18th of july still not recieved it. Telephone them but its always an answer machine, emailed them several times which they have ignored. I contacted office of fair trading, which advised me to check with company house, surprise, surprise, they are not registered was advised to report them to Action Fraud (*******040) which work alongside of the police. They are now investigating. Would advise everyone to ring this number, now i am hoping my bank can recover my money
Contrary to all the other reviews, I recieved my 2 touch up kits both of which were metalic, one which was for a none UK car. Both colours made a good match. You do need to send them the paint code rather than a reg No.It did take 6 days to recieve my order.
I ordered on Tuesday 27th April 2010 using both my car registration and colour code.
I emailed them on Wednesday looking for a delivery date but my emails were returned as undelivered. Starting to get worried.
Thursday, I called the number on the site which had lines open from 9.30am to 4.30pm - no answer. Getting very worried now.
Friday, googled carpaintrepair.co.uk and go into panic mode reading all the bad reviews.
Friday 30th April afternoon, delivery arrives! Not special or recorded but delivered none the less. Colour matches perfectly.
Spot on job. Very happy customer.
My experience much as others, no calls answered, did get someone at the body shop but he was 'on holiday' and new nothing about paint supply op, no response to emails, (except to tell me they were on holiday, this a week after the date mentioned) no response to request to cancel, SENT FOUR TIMES. Only good news, received my order and paint seems to be of reasonable quality. A cowboy operation that should be shut down.
Sent the wrong paint, they do not answer phone or Emails I rec'd what is obviously their standard email "Hi Thanks for your email. We check and respond to our emails as often as we can. For an instant response please call us on ******* *******. (Call answered Mon-Fri 10am till 2pm then 2.30pm till 5.00pm) Many thanks CarPaintRepair" have been phoning at the times given for nearly 3 weeks. It is obvious I'm going to have to try other methods that is if they are still in business?
Not only did CarPaintRepair said the wrong colour paint, they also never sent the correct one as promised. WARNING - They do not exact match consistently. WARNING - They mis-sell, this is against the law.
The only way to highlight this company failures is to complain to Trading Standards - *******@westlothian.gsx.gov.uk - he knows all about them.
Answer: Telephone Citizens Advice Bureau on 03454 040506 - if they consider the matter serious they notify Trading Standards. It worked for me - I got my refund but no apology.
