This website / company should be shut down by the Government for provided falsified reports and information to consumers in the US. They provide zero customer support with no way to call them for assistance. The only way to reach them is by email to which no one responds. They post incorrect information with no proof and then put the burden of proof on the owner of the vehicle. How is this legal?! And they make people pay for the false reports!
Because the last nine months, I guess because I bought my car thru Flemington chain of dealerships, CarFax started sending me complete monthly reports of my 2020 Cadillac Escalade ESV. Oil life, tire pressure, mileage, and a bunch of other things. And it had at top, the Trade In Price as of that time. When you started sending the nine months ago, it was approximately $78,000.
Every month understandably it would go down a bit. August and Sept it was about $70,000. I'm telling you the very lowest in Sept. It was $69,000.
My mistake in all this was that I didn't keep copies, unless I have one stashed, and didn't run across it YET.
Well, based on your report, I went to the dealership and had a car lined up, I haggled on the price while the manager did " his so called inspection". Well, he came in and said here is your price on the new car. And what do you expect for your car? I said, really, I know you want me to tell you 25,000. Well he kinda chuckled, and said no really. I said that's how we're gonna play this? I told the salesman, tell him I want $76,000. And he said is that the bottom line, I said well, $75,000. He wrote $75.000 I said no to tell him $76,000. Well he disappeared and in comes the manager. With a Carfax in hand, that said like $58,900. I told him about the report I just received from you that said $70,000. He said, this is what he just got. After fighting with him back and forth, and inches from the door, we came to a deal, no thanks to you Carfax, I went as far as telling them, when I get home, the first fox I see, I'm gonna shoot it.
Now I come home and contact CarFax, I only request that you send me a copy of August and September so I can send it to them to show I'm not lying. You gave me nothing. So here is my last shot before I start with my bad ratings online. Pease send me a copy.
Went to trade in my vehicle Carfax reported an accident on it. Carfax is not correcting the problem

I b ought my Carfax report online and I tried to print it out but keep asking to pay again, no customer service..
I called three times and no one ever called back. Is this what you do. Sell the car,get the money and no customer service. Among other things.
Bought my car in 2018 with a "clean Carfax". AFTER buying my car, Carfax added structural damage PREDATING the sale. Other car searches show no damage, I've had it inspected and no damage has been detected, but Carfax won't fix the report. They stated I need it from the seller but won't disclose who the seller is and by their own admission in writing in email, they have too many cars to process data efficiently and their own reporting will be incomplete.
Stay away as this service is a complete waste of money as they do not provide updated results, from over 3 years ago! Disgusting customer service that just wants to steal your money.
I used to use Carfax to keep a record of all my self-service. Then, without warning, they deleted all records from anyone other than one of their "approved " shops. This makes the app totally unreliable. They turned a good app into a piece of unreliable garbage.
CARFAX posted pictures of this Honda Civic 2000. When I arrived at Absolute best Auto sales, I saw completely different pictures of the same car that was dirty and discolored with broken hubcap.
They report that our car was totaled. To get that change they said I need a letter from the insurance company that reported it. My insurance company did not issue the report. And they will not release that information to so making it impossible for me to get the required letter.
When I attempted to trade in my 2005 Toyota 4Runner for a 2013 model, the dealer pulled the Carfax report. That showed the vehicle was scrap and not driveable. Though I had been in an accident, it was not major and repairs nowhere near the 4Runner's value. The airbags didn't even deploy. I wanted to take advantage of a deal and didn't have time to search around and it was the weekend, so carfax could not be reached. I accepted scrap value for the trade in. When I was able to reach Carfax, they said the vehicle must have been totaled due to the nature of the accident. The repair shop denied reporting anything to Carfax. After exchange of info about the repair with Carfax, they reluctantly agreed to reverse the scrap value assessment. They told me that the scrap assessment was theirs based on the data they received. The resolution took a few weeks, though. Carfax is not a consumer's friend. It cost me many thousands of dollars towards the trade in because they inserted their unqualified opinion. Think about it - Carfax looks best when damage reported are inflated. My guess is that the Carfax input was through the police accident report.
I didnt know my report would be deleted in 30 days - i would have downloaded it... customer service unresponsive.
Came into Island Auto nervous and scared, but left in a mint used car smiling all in about 3 hours.
Thank you, Omar
Still waiting on any communication from their "customer service" but...
Paid for 3 reports. Select "Run Report" Type in VIN number. Takes me to page asking me which option I want to buy. Over. And over.
Numerous email messages sent.
NO REPLY.
Thank you very little.
Carfax has something going here! Got all these dealerships and everyday people relying on accurate reporting, but they can't get their sh*t together to actually SPEAK to consumers about inaccuracy in their reports. Send an email and they might get back to you "when there is additional information regarding your case"! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
I can 100% guarantee that the report that I have is wrong and CARFAX is doing NOTHING about it! This will cost me THOUSANDS of dollars. THOUSANDS!
I can prove carfax lies about "clean titles." Don't trust carfax at all! They're in bed with the dealers.
I had a feeling the deal was too good to be true. I ran a report through Carfax. The report they provided saved me thousands of dollars. Best thing I could have ever done. I highly recommend them.

You would think that a dealer that uses the Carfax name would be a good dealer to use. But this is not true. This dealer sold me a car that they assured me had been through an inspection. I decided to take the car to an independent Mechanic and they found a leaking strut which is going to cost me 1900. 00. Don't trust this dealership and as it looks Carfax either.
Company is perfect to be used as a tool, by unscrupulous auto dealers, to defraud the consumer.
It's " weaknesses ", such as information " time lag" and inability to navigate auto auction information, allows it to be used to misrepresent the "status" of the vehicles it reports on. Take a minute and google the organization and see for yourself. DO NOT purchase an automobile based on the information supplied to you by one of these reports! There are other companies that supply you with much more accurate information.
When shopping for a used car, just say "Show Me the CARFAX"!
