I joined to be a pet sitter and even became a premium member. I sent out countless applications but no replies. What I really hate, is how they keep your CC on file! My account is set to delete the beginning of June and I better not see another charge! They also make you agree to things that you don't want to. You'd have better luck posting an AD in the newspaper than using this site!
Etween 2002 and 2006 I signed up to offer my Professional Domestic Services. I was over 45 years old with 28 years of service in the field. The ist interview they sent me to a couple who had paid for a background check that listed me as White and having lived in places I never lived. The people they sent me to were extremely rude and racially insulting. Then Care.com wrote me and stated they don't hire agencies and I am an individual. I tried again to use the service twice and found that they had ruined my reputation with their misinformed and incorrect background checks of me. I wrote to address the situation and got nowhere. If you look on the site itself you will see they discriminate against Black workers of experience and excellent reputation. We subscribed to this site for 30 bucks for the year and they have live updates. http://www.caretaker.org/ we found a lot of help when we had a homestead years ago and I got some gigs that were temporary too. Straight up honest folks who own the site and the people posting wanted ads are from all over the world and the USA. Posting your own ad isn't that expensive either. Some offer trade for housesitting and others pay wages. It was worth it for us.
I worked three days for a guy who lived in Minnesota to take care of his mother at her home in barboursville. Then I find out the job Ted told me was 4-5 days, 4 hours a day was actually on call. When I refused on call Ted said he would send a check sometime next week. He made sure I signed all the papers for both his ins companies so he would get reimbursed for her care. Meanwhile, the older woman he left in charge was taking advantage of her. All she did was write down calls on the answering machine every three-four days, give her Rx, and go to dinner. She said to make sure I added household duties On the daily sheet so he thought we did more. She said his brother was stealing cash from the mother. I never saw anyone take advantage except her. Of course Ted didn't believe it. In my opinion he likes being able to say he's in charge as long as he doesn't have to find out whats really going on.
I would recommend that people not work for Joyce J. G from Mt Juliet TN. She lies and is a coward.
*******People Beware*****Fraud******
I was a victim of a fraud case on your site. The following person at this email address *******@gmail.com has retrieved all of my info from your site to contact me for an alleged caregiving position. They seem so legitimate when telling me to send them my resume by email. They gave me all the information about a patient that I would be taking care of at the beginning of May. The sent me an advanced payment of over $2000 and told me to deposit the money in my account an deduct only my salary of $400 and send the rest to an accountant. According to the bank the check was a fraud and the bank forward the check to the fraud department and put an hold on my account. Now I suffer because I am unable to have access to my money to continue my life journey.
Your site has caused exposure of my personal business and access to criminals therefore I had to delete my account to avoid them having access to my info.

Tracy Bomgardner worked for me taking my previous Coco for walks, she was caring and a pleasure to have taking care of our Coco. Reliable, dependable person. Outstanding!
Absolutely terrible don't use this site. No one will ever hire you and I have gotten contacted by so many scam artists including one who I googled and took $5000 from a lady who fell for her scam. The someone tried the same scam and there have been loads of other bull$#*! messages. I had to go to the police because the First Lady was harassing me so much and sent me a fake check and wouldn't stop contacting me. No one normal will ever contact you ONLY SCAM ARTISTS
Do not give these fruit loops your credit card number. They deliver nothing, it does not take extraordinary intelligence to post much needed work for those who much need work, they are suspicious and I question the authenticity of the needed work.
After complaining 3 separate times about getting scam text messages (I had been on the site for over a year and never had any issues prior!), I was finally informed that my number was visible to "premium" members and that there was a way to change that. So you want to tell me that you have premium members that are also scammers? Seems pretty shady to me! I was kicked off the site and each time I have tried to rejoin, I have instantly been kicked off again. Great customer service right? BEWARE!
The family refused to do anything with taxes, wrote me off on theirs as a "charitable donation", got mad when I asked for a W2 form at the beginning of the year, and stood there denying they have to give taxes "we don't do taxes in this family" is what they said. I realized I was getting paid less than $3 an hour, watching 2 horrible children kids 50 hours a week, and they didn't have a problem with paying me that little. They make me feel bad for having doctors appointment that I have to go to, forget that I'm a real person, and don't ask me if I can stay later when they show up at 10pm at night- but I stopped getting paid at 4!
Terrible place to get a nanny. I hired a woman called *. She was a emotional wreck and horrible day care provider. She left my child home alone and did not feel him all day. She slapped my child and I found out later from a neighbor. She is mentally and physically abusive to children. Do not use this service and do not use this nanny.

When you've been a customer for over 5 years & have found carw.com to be useful - then, one day, you find out that they have 'terminated' your account. You shant ask any questions, as they will terminate you for this well. I have a clean background and a very spotless driving record, and on top of that, I'm TrustlineLine certified (ca). I have been able to make between 55,000 - 70,000 a year as a college educated nanny. Now, I have to look elsewhere, and very stressed out about it. They are unethical and I question their business practice: They send out a letter to any family you've been in contact with, stating that for their safety, they shouldn't contact you. This is crazy. They are putting you in that category, because this all they have for terminating someone. So, those families will believe you're a criminal - crazy, right? They should change that! Smearing the character of a good person, it's evil. I will look into a lawsuit of some kind, because you cannot deem someone to be unsafe for no reason. That's message they have
I gave this site a try and was greatly disappointed! I've received countless texts and emails from made up numbers and made up names from some sort of free texting app claiming that they need services and will pay money up front. Some claiming they will pay $400-500 to secure me as possible worker... all of which have ended up becoming fraudulent scammers out for my banking info. Now I get texts a few times a week even AFTER I took my profile down. Once they have your number they'll keep trying g to contact you by changing their number in their app. Don't even bother with that site! All the reviews on their site are fake in my opinion...
Thanks Lisa for all your help. My wedding was a success. I received all 8 bridesmaid dresses and mother of bride dress on time as promise.
The dresses were beautiful and I was very satisfied. Your customer service was awesome.
My daughter recently registered Care.com and received the following:

This is CLEARLY a scam! A ruse to get bank account information.

I was leaving a bad review for another site and saw people rating how awful care.com is. This company is eventually going to be sued for millions. Like everyone else, my wife was auto billed. Sure it maybe posted on their website that they auto bill but most consumers don't see this. It's misleading and how much you want to bet this was planned from the start as a scheme to extract money from people?
What they should do is refund people who are auto billed but they don't. That's where this company does wrong. When someone requests a refund they should honor it. Companies like godaddy do this but they will retract your sale. Key difference.
Called them many times to cancel the subscription but it was not done- they refused to refund money- they have a small line that says that after one month they will continue to bill you- there is no notification or email from them so please beware- way of cheating people
This one was my fault. I thought I did thorough research before I signed up for the site, but obviously I missed this review site. Never do business with Care.com. On Tuesday, I signed up for their service and paid my membership fee. Then I created a job posting using their forms and their rules. The next morning, I was informed that my account was terminated and given no reason. I found it funny that there was no mention as to when my money would be refunded, so I am in the middle of that battle with these people now. NEVER use Care.com. There are so many other effective ways to find a babysitter online.
My daughter signed up on care.com to be a pet sitter. She corresponded with a care.com client who ask for her contact information to send a check in advance of her doing any work in the amount of $2650. She received the check via priority mail which I was lucky to intercept. I have now read the email correspondence and investigated through Citibank and found the check to be fraudulent. Citibank says it was a spoof to get her bank account numbers and withdraw funds from her account.
The care.com client was asking my daughter to deposit the check and then purchase some furniture and other items from Walmart prior to their arrival. He claimed to be moving to the area and needed her to do some errands and make some purchases with the money and the balance was her advance payroll.
PLEASE BE AWARE and educate others about these types of scams. If it seems to good to be true it is!
Answer: Hello, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are currently investigating Care.com. This is important enough to me that they have scammed me out of 6 months of payments and I had to close my credit card for Fraud. If you have had a bad experience with Care.com, I would encourage you to file a complaint with BBB. If enough people complain, then they will take more serious action. Here is the website. It is a short process to submit a complaint. https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started
Answer: Steer clear from Care.com or what we prefer to call Care-aless. Com! They are only about profit for them. The site is for trollers that prey on innocent families. You'd be better off putting an ad in your local newspaper. Most local newspapers also have online readership too!
Answer: I am determined to shut this site down. I am contacting news programs, The Today Show, Good Morning America and any and all others. Shut them down!
Answer: I would be cautious. I hope she is not moving for the job, as that is NOT a good idea. I get text messages daily from people asking me to email them (often for a friend), or someone coming from out of town or whatever. I delete these right away. First of all, they should go through the regular website and email you. No one would hire anyone without first meeting them, checking references, etc. I am sitting at the home of someone I took with through the Care site. I first communicated via email, then set up a face to face and met the kids. If it seems too good to be true, it is. USE COMMON SENSE! Seriously, if you don't have common sense you really shouldn't be taking care of kids, pets or anyone else!
Answer: This is so sad! I have been on both sides as I have an assisted living home in Pensacola Florida. I used care.com to staff my home; awful. Then when I had myself on as a provider they suspended me for a 14 year old non viloent misdemeanor, and they did not even have my permission to check past 7. They want you to get crappy providers, the good ones are kicked off because once ya get a good one, you no longer need them. Cash cow corrupt company who makes rules up as they go along, I heard 20/20 is doing a special. I plan to contact them, as I am verifiably the best care coordinator hands down, extremely good with direct care. You will only ever be returned 1 month contact the Federal Trade Commission file a complaint that's what I did, the more problems the better the case against care, com
Answer: Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they have a big money backer and can screw people of their money and lack of customer service? They should be called, I don't care.com
Answer: If I were you I'd choose another site. Care.com is terrible.
Answer: Some of the clients are looking for cheap labor through the internet for housekeeping. I usually tell the person to call me back for interview finish. Then I would tell them that I am self-employed and they would need to file a 1099 for taxes to IRS.
Answer: Care.com is set up for parents that pay for the service... Parents can enroll for free and place and add. However, If they do not forward their credit card any messages from caregivers will have a blocked phone number. The babysitter cam also enroll for free and make a profile for her services. However if she does nor forward her credit card she can only apply to 8 jobs every 28 days and only the ads from parents that have paid for an account will be able to contact her. DO NOT respond to anyone contacting you on your phone that did not contact through Care.com first... This is always a scam... The message will look like this: I am moving to your area soon and need car for my son/daughter. Kindly respond to my email.(They are looking to scam you for money.)
Answer: Sitter city.com could help you. I have honestly had nothing but problems with care.com. They make up rules as they decide not how things are written and do not follow their own privacy policy. They feed on single moms and dads. As well as children providing for aging parents You can place an add on Craigslist as well, for free and your prospective employee provides their own background check as it can be a most recent one and obtained by themselves at 5 to 10 dollars
I'm so sorry to hear you have had this experience with a caregiver you met on the site. Please use the Report feature on the site or send us an email with these details, so our Safety Team can research this further.
