I don't understand why everyone has "registered nurse" under their name when they aren't a nurse. Also, I didn't see anything about the time frame I have to cancel so I don't get charged for another month if all the caregivers turn out to be schemers or duds.

Unethical company

I received an email that I thought was through Care.com and when I went to the site, it stated that I had to pay to read the email so I paid. That's when I saw the mistake. I had not received an email through Care and I immediately tried to cancel but received an email that I couldn't cancel for a year. What? It was a mistake! I had called within an HOUR. I responded that it was a mistake and that I wanted a refund. No response. I called today and spoke with someone who refused to give me a refund. I've filed a complaint with my bank, and am now going to call the BBB and attorney general's office. What a scam.

I'm not sure I care for being offered a "free" account only to find that little or nothing came with it. Then once I DID pay for it, additional popups offering yet more tidbits. Which would have been fine had I been done the courtesy of seeing them BEFORE I ordered. In fact, I did purchase a couple of them later -- I just don't care for being treated this way. Hopefully, I'll be inclined to revise my opinion later!

It took me several days to upgrade to premium. It was very frustrating. I email customer care and she gave me a couple of options so I was finally able to subscribe. This is my first time with care.com so If it wasn't for 2 days of trying I would rate better. Plus, first time I tried before getting to submit it told me my name was wrong on card. My credit card has my middle initial, so I took it out when I resubmitted and it went through…

The website design is somewhat finicky. Attempting to submit the upgrade subscription payment form on Chromebook operating Google Chrome did not work, and we had to move to desktop in order to complete the registration; it would be great if the payment form worked equally well across devices and platforms. In addition, I was unpleasantly surprised to see up-selling after a basic subscription had been already chosen and payment submitted. It seems natural that a basic background check for care providers-- at least criminal record and sex offender registry-- would be included with the regular subscription, rather than being offered as an additional surprise add-on after selection. As a matter of integrity, I would have appreciated seeing all of the additional bells and whistles (along with their costs) listed upfront on the same page where the subscription was selected. I still hope that we are able to find an excellent fit nanny here, but so far I have mixed feelings about Care.com.

I hate that it's become standard for websites to put customers on auto-pay so that we have to go out of our way to cancel after the month is up. If I wanted a renewed membership after 1 month, I would have selected that option and paid less! No, I wanted to pay for ONE MONTH and ONLY ONE MONTH, but unless I put it in my calendar to cancel my membership at the end of the month, you'll keep billing me.
