I returned a rental book from them a month before the return date and they received it before the return date. But they still charged me saying they didn't get the book. Do not rent books from them, do not give them your money because they will take more of your money.
I ordered through them last semester, my textbook came extremely late. I was fine with that and promptly returned the book using the credentials found on my account. They sent me an email that I returned the wrong book, which was clearly incorrect because it was the only book I ordered through them. It was obviously a misunderstanding on their end because I used their prepaid label. Several months pass and they are trying to send me to collections because I violated their terms by not returning the book, B U LL S H I T. I have since sent them a dispute online, so lets see how this goes... DO NOT RECOMMEND. AT ALL.
The textbook I needed was $90 new or $60 used, I didnt have that kind of money so looked for an alternative. Randomly came on to this site and saw my book for less then $20, that should have been my red flag. I was so happy to get a deal on my book so I immediately placed my order. I needed my book by next week before Wednesday so placed my order on Thursday the week prior, I even put in $15 for faster shipping just in case! $15 was the 2-3 day option so I thought the package would hopefully come by on Saturday. I still had hope thinking it would be here by Monday, so here I am, Monday and still no book! I even checked my tracking and it said that it would be here TODAY. I urgently need the book now and Im not even sure if Amazon Prime will have my book by tomorrow. This website has given me so much stress and its not worth even if you think youre saving money!
I would leave zero stars if it was an option. We rented a book directly from Campus Book Rentals through their website (no mention of Valore Books on their site). When it came time to return, we realized that we did not have the return label. We emailed them over 20 times asking for a return label with no response. We thought, oh well, they must not want their book back and figured if they wanted the book back, they would've sent us a label. Well, today, we went online to Valore Books to return another rental and discovered that the book we were trying to return to Campus Book Rentals was actually going back to Valore Books! At this point, the book is overdue by 3 months and we are in collections with Valore because Campus Book Rentals incompetent reps couldn't follow a simple set of instructions and simply send us a label. Turns out, Campus Book Rentals is a marketplace seller on Valore Books! Do yourself a favor, stay away from Campus Book Rentals.
Bought a textbook that said good condition and was barely even usable it was falling apart so bad. Just don't buy books from them, period.
Ordered a Biology book for my grandson for college. It came sooner than expected and in pristine condition and it was reasonably priced. So happy to have found Campus Book Rentals!
I will definitely be ordering again.
Ordered a book at the end of August, book shipped 5 days later and book was marked delivered a week later. So that is the time span you're looking at for free shipping. The textbook cost no more that $21 and it came in great condition.
BUT
The post office didn't deliver my package so that was the only drawback. I contacted the site, they were very responsive and even called me to offer advice and to send another book.
I did receive the book for a great price.
Not too happy. Books and prices were okay as well as customer service. But when I returned the book they said they received it late when I shipped it back 2 weeks before the due date and charged me 10 dollars for the extension that i never asked for. Email them and so far they are refunding me my money. Probably won't be renting from them for a while
This site never fails. If you do not like to rent books at your school than you can always come here. The bad thing is when school starts and the book you need is out of stock than it takes awhile for you to find the book you need. The great thing for that is if you have more than 1 book to get than you can use the discount they offer you when something is out of stock. The books are usually in good standing from what I've gotten.
The live chat staff couldn't decide if they shipped to Canada or not. The first staff member said "yes" but I encountered difficulties completing my order. The second staff said "no" - and then said "oh, no wait, we do" BUT didn't know how to complete the order. It was a bit annoying.
I ordered a book through them that I was 'renting' for a class I have during the Fall 2016. It has now been 12 business days, I've called them 3 times. I found out today after talking with a customer service rep that my book had still not yet arrived because it was actually back ordered and they had to re order it a week ago. No one informed me of this and clearly the book will now not be here for probably another week. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Not good communication with client.
The worst book rental company i have ever come across, they are liars and very unreliable. I had to pay for a book they held hostage. They were never concerned about me. GOD will judge them
I ordered three books 2 from this site and one from another. The book from the other side - everything flew seamlessly. I paid, received confirmation email, tracking updates etc, a quick delivery. Then this company. First it took longer than average to get my order then the other order never arrived. Even though they did send an email (that is the only accountability I will take - the email went to my spam) BUT when I would look at my order status on THEIR site it still showed as them having received my order etc with no indication on their site that it was "unilaterally cancelled". Turns out it was cancelled because it was not in stock.
OKAAYYYY why post a book and take my money if you do not have it in stock? Based on the prior reviews, seems this is standard practice for them - they list a book as being available and then you rely on that notion and then they will cancel your order.
Clearly, they must run on some archaic system where it does not get updated in real time etc.
So yes you do save money but you make up for it in aggravation. I say proceed with caution.
If you need a textbook, you should order ANOTHER company. YOU cannot start to study with your class.
I ordered standard shipping, I don't receive my book for over 2weeks, then they said my fault because I ordered standard shipping.
"This is Davanna with Campus Book Rentals. I am sorry that the book did not arrive on the estimated delivery date. But like I said we are within our shipping time frame."
Any support and any effort cannot see from them.
I ordered a book that I needed soon for my class. After two days I checked my bank account and saw that they refunded me. I then checked my account on their website and saw that they had cancelled my order. I then called customer service and she said that had run out of the books but they now have some in stock so if I reordered they would send me one as well as give me a discount. I listened to the lady and reordered immediately after getting off of the phone with her. The same thing happened.
It's not worth the $20 you save going through this company. I ended up not getting my book and by the time I was finished with them, the places that were $20 more were sold out. I ultimately ended up spending $50 more since I chose to go through this company first, not to mention not having the book for two additional weeks.
There are several problems with this. First, if you don't have the books, don't allow people to order them. Second, if there is an issue with cancelling an order, INFORM THE CUSTOMER. If I hadnt checked my bank account I would still be waiting for the book. Also, dont lie to customers saying that you now have books in stock two days later and then you coincidently dont have them when they order 2 minutes later.
After I purchased a book I received an email saying that the book can't be shipped because they're out of stock, this book shouldn't be an option if that's the case. So mad
Ordered my book almost three weeks ago. Still haven't received it. I would avoid this company if i were you.
Good experience. Cheap books. Somewhat slow shipping. About 1 month.
Always take care of me as if I was there only customer.
Answer: On the homepage (or any page really), scroll allllll the way to the bottom, and there's a tiny bit of text that says "contact us." It's on the right under "about us" above their BBB logo.
