As soon as I said that I was not interested in paying them to 'project manage' my job for a fee... in addition to the money I would pay a general contractor... which I would think should be replaced by this so called project manager, they said they'd pass my info to some local contractors and quickly ended the call. That was about a week ago. Today I got an email saying that there was no one in the area that could help me. Yeah, since I wasn't giving THEM any money. I feel like this is a company who preys on people who don't have experience with contractors.
The crew showed up on time and worked at least 10 hours every day with only one meal break. When I told them something was "good enough" They responded "no" our name is on this job, and we take pride in our work, so we want to do it the best we can. And they did! When was last time you heard a contractor say that? Also, they clean up after themselves at the end of every day. We were kind of sad to see them finish up, they were so friendly and concerned about us and their job.
The job was done beautifully. We've gotten oohs and ahs when people come to visit. Kiel is intelligent, inventive and very thorough. Not only did he do a great job tiling and installing hardware, granite and grab bars, he also gifted us a few details that were not in the contract but which he felt should be done. Kiel and his helpers were prompt, cooperative and pleasant at all times.

Santos and Blue Diamond Roofing were excellent in providing roof repair for our outbuilding. Responded within minutes to my request for a quote, came within the hour to check it out, and finished the job in the same day. The quote was reasonable, but more importantly, Santos has a high degree of integrity and proved to be trustworthy--he did what he said he would do within the timeframe we discussed. Communicated with us about the progress of the job the entire way. Santos was extremely polite and service-oriented and I highly recommend him and Blue Diamond Roofing.
This company was recommended by one of our friends. And, we have a wonderful experience with this roofing company as well. They are professional and responsive. They provide great service with timely follow up. Their price is reasonable. They also educated us about their procedures and listened to our concerns. They helped us fixed our roof leakage (front porch) in two days. For our future roofing project, we will call on them for sure.
I had an electrical issue after the recent freeze in Austin TX. The city's website pointed me to BuildZoom in order to get bids for the repairs. My assigned consultant was very helpful, and expecially proactive in keeping up to speed on the progress of getting the needed work done. Definitely recommended.
We had our older heat pump go out on us this summer. We had the company the unit was purchased from come out to inspect our problem, finding out that the whole hvac system would need replaced. We were given a quote for much more then expected. As a senior citizen and an retired veteran, I have never been scammed but there's always a first time. I hired BZ to provide qualified builders to bid a small home I'm building. I received one unqualified bid and then, after $2475 was paid, I was ghosted. Many calls and emails latter, nothing. Not sure what to do now, but I'm going to recover that theft.

We're sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with the BuildZoom Premium Service. After reviewing your records, it appears that you paid both the Down Payment and the first invoice for procuring you atleast 1 architect. First I'd like to address your concerns about the services, then address your claims about being ghosted.
First, regarding the service you received. BuildZoom has the largest database of contractors in the country, and we use that database to source qualified contractors for your project. In your case, we found the 18 closest contractors in your area with experience with your project type and reached out to all of them with the scope of work and details of your job. Of those 18, only 4 initially expressed interest then it dwindled down to only 1 who was willing to provide a bid. Most of the contractors cited their reason for not wanting to do the project were the distance from where they were to your project location. These contractors are not employed by or affiliated with BuiildZoom, so we can't force them to take a job that's too far for them.
Additionally, we bill for services in arrears. Meaning it's for services you've already received, not for services you will be receiving in the future. The invoice you paid was for the time spent developing a scope of work, having conversations with these contractors to review your project, coordinating meetings, and organizing documentation for all of this. All of this information is available in your Premium Portal when you log in. We intentionally document and log all the different steps we take so property owners have transparency about all the work that's being done on your behalf. It saved you your personal time from having to speak with 18 different contractors and dealing with the frustration of rejection and trying to keep everything organized yourself.
Regarding your claims about being ghosted. It appears that you cancelled your services on July 12th 2023. We attempted to call you on that day and left you a voicemail but you never responded. The next time we heard from you was the day before this review was posted, July 18th 2023, you sent us a couple of emails and telling us you'd be posting reviews and submitting complaints after our offices were closed, then you came on here and posted your review. Leading up to your cancellation, we've been in very active communication with you and were letting you know that we're still attempting to find you additional contractors, however you weren't giving us that opportunity and chose to cancel services.
Once again, we are sad to see you dissatisfied with our services, however our teams put forth a lot of effort to get you a contractor willing to drive out to your location, provide a bid, and we even offered to continue to try to get you more contractors. You were never ghosted, we stayed actively engaged with you and before your claim of being ghosted we were the last ones to reach out to you but you never answered our calls or responded to our emails.
We hope the best for you with your project, and if you end up needing more assistance with finding a contractor and reviewing the bids you receive, you can still reach out to us for assistance.
We used Build zoom to do some unanticipated fixes to our home, primarily outside. They were very responsive and came in at budget. Their work was very professional and blended in seamlessly with our exterior. Additional work was done to repair decking and other repairs, again without a long wait and seamless coordination of tasks/tradespeople.
I was having a very hard time with my job and then ran into a situation with friend relationship that after speaking with Alex and hearing great words helped me with taking a better look at things. Build Zoom helped me to select an Architect (Matthias is fantastic) for the project and his selection alone saved more than the Buildzoom price. And I loved the 3D modeling used to develop the plans! BuildZoom partners with over 2000 building departments and contractor license boards across the United States to maintain a database of almost 4 million contractors. Similarly, we receive permit data from city or county building departments, which is all public data. We pull this permit data every day to ensure we have the most updated information for all of our contractors.
BuildZoom is a place where property owners can search our database to find a local contractor, and to leave reviews regarding their experience. They can also contact our Project Consultants if they want help finding a local contractor. BuildZoom offers a premium service in which our dedicated Project Managers support property owners through the pre-hire process. This includes sourcing contractors, bid management and revision, and contract administration, amongst other premium offerings. BuildZoom only wins when contractors AND property owners win.
Reviews on BuildZoom profiles act as a way for property owners to understand more about the person they are getting into business with, and in some cases, may deter them from choosing a contractor due to consistent poor reviews. When someone goes to leave a review on BuildZoom, we always require that they provide us with contact information to ensure the validity of the review, otherwise the review will not be approved. We have a review integrity team that validates every single review that is submitted for a contractor to ensure they are not falsified and to ensure they meet our review requirements. Furthermore, if a contractor believes that a review is falsified, they can claim their BuildZoom profile and submit a dispute directly from the platform to have the review integrity team reach out to the person who left the review and conduct a further investigation. Keep in mind that submitting a dispute is 100% free and we would never require payment to submit or dispute a review. We understand the impact a bad review has on a business. As a platform that accepts reviews from the public, we can't act as arbiters or take sides. We have a responsibility to remain objective about an experience that someone is sharing about a business.

I have been a part of over a dozen renovations and this group is by far the most unprofessional and a group of scam artists. They were paid for services, agreed to details in writing and verbally and then had amnesia what they agreed to and walked off the job. Then proceeded to send blackmail texts: the first was good luck finding anyone to finish for under $10,000, followed by "in order to finish the job they been paid for I'd have to give them $5000 case, $2000 more for scope of work and $3000 for "wasting their time"…. Marc is a fast talker and says the right things and then he will run off with your money and leave a mess for you to clean up!
