I have moved over 25 times in my life. This is ABSOLUTELY the worst experience I have ever had. They are NOT a moving company...but a Logisitics company. They give you a bad quote and when the actual movers finally do show up...they charge you much more for this thing and that thing. It's been a disaster. Please please save yourself. Use and actual moving company!
Being harassed by Budget Van Lines rep Anthony after I told him rates are too high. Never gave him permission and now he is texting me disrespectfull texts about how I don't know anything about moving and I told him to stop and that he didn't have persmission and he continues to. Be very cautions about www.budgetvanlines.com, creepy that he is harrassing me.
This is the worst company to use for moving, when I called for a quote they quoted me a price that was way under what I ended up paying for the overall load. They were delayed dropping off the trailer and delayed from picking up from the original drop off location. They called to confirm a delivery date when I accepted the delivery date they then called me several times in a row to tell me that they were wrong, and had to change the drop off time. I had a to cancel my movers to unload the truck, now the delivery date has changed again. They still cant give me a better time they are basing everything off of estimates and they cant be help responsible for any delays. How ever when I confronted them with this they will not take a any responsibility and then threated to have the trucking company to hold my trailer. I would not recommend to pay for this company to move your belongings. I would gladly pay more money for a reliable company to help me move my belongings. This company and staff are terrible.
They say they'll give you a quote in just a few quick steps, then ask for your name (but they say they'll give the quote after), oh but then your email (your quote is coming right after you do this they say), THEN your number, and YOU DON'T EVEN GET THE QUOTE! They tell you to wait and they'll call you.
At this point I was fed up and blocked the number that texted me. I opted to unsubscribe and they texted me again from ANOTHER number. They then called me! I don't know who I have to go to to get them to leave me alone, but absolutely do not ever give them your information even just looking for a quote.
When I signed up with Budgets agent, Bill R (are they all called that? I could not reach him once problems began.), I was extremely leery of giving a cash deposit. Bill told me that once I was in the presence of the movers and could prove my identification with my ID, I would be allowed to pay the 2nd and 3rd portions with a credit card. I was never told this was a "request" or heard later that the "request" was denied. Apparently Budget Van and your shady subcontractor knew this but I, the person who would be paying was never informed I would be made to pay cash for the entire move. Also, Bill told me Budget was a vet-owned company and they were doing my move, not a subcontractor.
A few days before the move while online with your representative, I did an exact inventory of my furniture and # boxes. I repeat an exact inventory, At the time, I had to pay a further deposit because it was "more than they expected". I told them that Bill R had told me I would have a semi moving me and your agent said yes but now I was taking more than 26' room of the semi so I paid a further deposit. He said its understood when they tell people they will have a semi to themselves, I should have understood it is really 26' since that's the largest truck uhaul rents. Huh? How would I have known that?
On the move day, your contractor did not show up though I had been told at signing that the truck was reserved for me. On the next day, 3 insolent young men showed up with one 26' truck. They said I had more than their 26' truck. Wasn't that the point of the inventory and extra deposit? They doubled the price of my move to $15,000 CASH and I would receive my goods in 3 weeks which was expedited according to them. My adult son continued to negotiate with them and I believe got them down to $10,000 but still CASH. I do not have that kind of money around, I don't know anyone who does so the movers said they could not move me and left.
This is a breach on their end of the contract not mine. Now the subcontractors, Speedy Movers blame Budget and Budget blames them and I am the one left holding the bag.
Please save yourself the money and headache and do not use Budget Van Lines or Speedy Movers.
Let me start by saying I haven't used this company and I might on reading all the reviews and then I'll get started with the Better Business Bureau because I can save over $2000.
But what upset me from the get-go they clearly imply if you put in this information into the Internet at the end you'll see a price that's what's implied otherwise it would tell you fill all this in will get back to you. So I fill in all the information and then I'm upset to see you there and email me the quote. But then it gets worse because as I read another reviews instead of seeing the quote in the email I have to call to discuss it.
Clearly if I would've known that I would've filled out the form I just call the 800 number if I wanted so that this may got me started on a bad foot.
Then I get a call from a woman with a heavy accent with a television in the background and backhaul quality. So I hung up from her and I called and got a guy with good call quality that seemed pretty sharp and he said they're in business 14 years so I guess I'm still considering them.
The man I spoke to on the phone was extremely pushy with the price, asking me if I had found other deals, and then told me to stop wasting people's time and hung up on me when I told him I was just checking around and wasn't sure when I will be moving. EXTREMELY RUDE and would not recommend.
What ever you do don't hit the free quote button. This is a broker not a mover. You will be bombarded with calls and texts from the sleeziest third party movers out there. Don't believe the reviews, I think most of them are fake. If you try to do business with any of these third party movers you will regret it. They low ball you on the price to get you to sign the contract, then jack up the price at every step of the move. Service is non existent. Expect you move to take weeks, not days. Run Away, Run Away!
I logged into the site providing all my contact information and all information regarding my needs for a move for the purpose of getting a quote. I was told that I would be notified with quotes. Instead I got an email telling me to call a number and verbally gave all the information again. I was quoted a figure based on discounts due to having a relative in the military and being seniors. The representative stated conditions too good to be true saying that the movers would even help with throwing things out and if more things were added the quote would stay the same. The quote would only be valid if we agreed to pay half the quote right then not by credit card but with an electronic check. Budget Van Lines is not a moving company but a brokers that gets quotes from other companies. In any case the representative would not take no for an answer and so we hung up. However, that wasn't the end. We were called three more times and the representative became more agressive. After that I blocked their phone number but the calls kept coming from different numbers and even from a "No Known Number" caller. I continue to block numbers coming frequently during the day. Do not give your personal contact information. Do not risk providing financial information. Stay away.
Don't rent from Budget! They left me stranded on I-5 in the middle of BFE Oregon! Not ONE person we called helped us and we made SEVERAL calls! The van is STILL in Portland as I had to PAY for a tow from Eugene to Portland! The van is STILL sitting in Portland after many calls to Budget for them to pick it up! We have it until tomorrow but not ONE person from Budget has called back about it. I hope it's towed and impounded because Budget deserves the karma they sowed!
Called them for a quote, then received whole bunch of racist emails and text and calls. Got a quote for almost 6000 from them. Hired a company for 3000 and not junk mails and calls.
Don't waste yr time with them.
They sell yr info to scammers, none stop scams calls and text and emails.
Talked with an operator this evening, giving all relevant info on the size of my move. He was friendly and helpful enough during this portion of the conversation. After determining there was availability for my desired dates, he immediately tried the hard sell of 'I'll offer $X discount if you reserve right now." When I said no and that I was just starting my search and would not be making an immediate commitment he transferred me to someone else who doubled down on the hard sell. He was rude and aggressive. When I told him that his approach was not going to get me to give them my business he got angry and said 'then just hang up the phone'. So, I did.
DON'T GIVE THEM SERVICE! NOT LEGIT! SPAM SPAM SPAM
Long story short: I wasn't putting a deposit down to claim a spot, he got angry said it doesn't make sense for me to not jump on this opportunity. Very unprofessional, don't be fooled into thinking they are just young. I've recieved spam calls, emails, texts after I contacted them.
I don't think this is a legit business. The lady that picked up spoke very quietly. The man that she transfered me to was horrible. He started out unprofessional which I thought ok, he sounds young give him a break. He spoke very fast when covering the services they provide and then put me on 'hold' to speak to someone else about price point. He said something about only driving 200 miles a day so I need to book so far in advance, then $10,000 insurance/coverage. I'm honestly not sure if that was something I had to pay or if he was speaking about my stuff being covered with $10k. He claimed I needed to put down a deposit to hold space in a truck that conveniently was going through my state to the state I'm moving. I wasn't ready for that step so I hesitated and then he completely left being semiprofessional. He got angry and told me it didn't make sense that I wouldn't put money down today so I could claim a low price. He went on to say it doesn't make sense for me to not claim this quote today because it will change the next time I call. I tried to explain to him my position but he wouldn't listen which shocked me very much! He immediately stopped talking and since I wasn't giving him money today he hung up.
I have recieved many spam calls, emails, texts from 'companies' I never contacted telling me I put my information into a general moving website that any 'company' can access and contact me.
Beware! I called this company about a short-notice move and had an initially friendly, polite conversation with a representative. He offered me discounts for family affiliations with the military, education, Verizon, AAA, and for being a senior. (Wow—He applied them all!) Then he gave me a non-competitive price and assured me that if I didn't take the deal, the space on the ONLY available truck would go to someone else immediately. He had offered me 30 minutes to consider the offer, then changed it to 2 minutes because he said it was closing time. (According to the web site, the business was open for 35 more minutes.) When I refused to book the move with a deposit immediately, the rep told me that since today is Thursday, I was out of luck because moving companies are all closed on Fridays. I think that was a lie, but it was true when he then said, "You're not our customer!" LOL
The company may be ok, but I'll never know. Hope the employee was a rouge, and not an example of what the company actually pays people to do.
For the love of all things holy, DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFORMATION to Budget Van Lines. They will sell it to a thousand 3rd parties while will contact you ad nauseum. Your phone will be unusable until they give up.
Their website claims that it will give you a ballpark quote. See my attached photo. IT WILL NOT. What they will do is incite a mob of 3rd rate moving companies to call, text, or email you until you lose your mind.
It's a broker service. They own no trucks. They canceled our cross country move and under bid the project and were going to upcharge us when they got here. The absolute worst.
Representative abruptly hung up on me stating he would e-mail, me in the middle of my sentence. We were talking about the items I would need to move. No e-mail follow up was sent to me.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Definitely will not be utilizing Budget Van Lines.
This company is not an actual moving company- they outsource their moves. You can verify via their DOT that they have no actual drivers/trucks. Their quotes will be much lower than other companies, and it seems great and professional and above board. But I got a call- the DAY before my move that the movers had cancelled- leaving me no choice but to pay $800 for the replacement movers if I were to stick with Budget. Everyone I spoke to, from the quote specialist to the one calling the day before my move charging me more were kind and professional- seemingly so very helpful- but this company is so very deceiving when taking your money. I did not trust them to move my things and not charge me yet again more to deliver them. I ended up paying more than twice for a last minute move with a reputable company. Do not get scammed like I was.
What a nightmare. I booked my reservation to go from NYC to DC area 2 weeks ago. Paid my deposit. Find out the day before they are supposed to come and pick up all of my stuff that the truck that was going to take my belongings "broke down" and they had to try to find a last minute carrier. Turns out that they found this out literally around the time that I had called for a status update on when the truck was supposed to come to my house to pick up my things. Coincidence? I don't think so. THEY FOR SURE FORGOT TO SCHEDULE ME, but had no problem taking my money. DO NOT USE THEM. So unprofessional. LAST MINUTE i had to figure out what I was going to do.
JUST RENT A UHAUL and hire someone on task rabbit to help you pack your things. You will save so much more money than any of these moving companies and you don't have to worry about anyone taking your belongings. Budget Van lines is the WORST. DO NOT USE THEM. The customer service rep Donald was really helpful in terms of helping me get my full refund, but still- this company is garbage. NEVER USE THEM. You will lose money, increase your blood pressure and watch your hair fall out from stress due to their incompetence.
The only site i ever gave my number to. Now they wont stop giving me robocalls from different numbers. All day. Dont give your contact info ever. You cant even opt out successfully. They will just keep calling. Huge red flag. They most likey give poor service or would steal your money. Wont be using them to move.
Answer: A Scam- don't waste your time. Spend the extra money and use a local mover. This business is unreliable and shouldn't be operating on such false claims.
Answer: Horrible, never pick up or dont have answers and never follow up when they say they will
Answer: My job was paying for my move and picked this company out of the other 3 moving companies that i got a quote from
