In general everything was prepared and completed as discussed. I am satisfied. Staff responded to multiple questions before I chose Broad Financial and after setting up the account in a timely manner and answered all my questions satisfactorily. However, I would not recommend anyone to pay all the expediting fees as I don't feel the extra fees actually helped my processing move significantly faster. I accepted and paid for an account on 2/17 and received final IRA-LLC funding and information on 3/9. My money was in cash so transfers from my side were quick. Several months ago I set another self directed IRA and everything was completed in half the time. I would not be afraid to recommend Broad financial to others as long as they were not in a hurry.

Just had one email from Broad instructing to sign documents and email. Then another that they needed original copies mailed - and one of the forms was a digital so a bit confusing on the exact instructions but not a big deal...

Noah Grodko was patient and informative on the phone explaining to my wife and I which products would be best for us. It's only been a year so we don't have much need for support. I'm sure when the and if that time comes,Noah will be right by our side.

It's been good

It's been good. Jeff has been helpful and available and answered all my questions. The only issue came up when I hadn't heard anything for several weeks and wondered what the hold up was on getting this set up. I was contacted by Joel and apparently the social security number was incorrect somehow. Ok, things happen, maybe it was my fault or not, doesn't matter. What surprised me was no one contacted me about this. I had to initiate an inquiry. This could've been solved in a heart beat and I'd have my Trust in place by now. As it is, I'm traveling extensively now and having a hard time scheduling a visit to my local Wells Fargo, but I should get it done tomorrow. It's not a big deal, it just backed things up a few weeks. Other than that I'm a happy camper so far.

Self directed is new to me
July 12, 2019

Self directed is new to me. I am building a house for investment. When I asked broad financial questions regarding what I can and can't do with the house, I felt I got very little support so I bought a book to get some answers. I will have more questions when I sell the house. Not sure if you are the ones I can ask the questions or if I need to go to my accountant. It seems most accountants are not familiar with self directed iras. Anyway I am not sure what level of support I should expect from Broad financial.

My first contact with Broad Financial was excellent

My first contact with Broad Financial was excellent. Things started to slack after I paid the fees. My excitement quickly turned to disappointment. When I called with questions I found them to be rude and uncaring. They promise to be there to answer all your questions and that's just not the case.

According to TDAmeritrade the Broad Financial instructions for opening an account for the trust are not complete. They apparently need the "Trust Plan Document" not just 14 pages of faxed Article 1. However, it's difficult to decide what the 'trust plan document' is - there's no wording on any pages that say these words and that these pages will be needed by TDAmeritrade - or any other institution. The instructions could be clearer.

In the LLC documents which include the Operating Agreement and EIN there's nothing to state that the LLC has been set up with the express provisions of operating as a tax deferred entity.

Other than that, Broad Financial is very responsive to queries and call back promptly with answers to questions.

My inquiries are always directed to the website for references. Instructions are not so clear; so I guess what I mistakingly did was an indirect rollover vs a direct rollover. I am still not so confident that I do not need to file a form with the IRS within 60 days of distribution. I feel it was not clear enough to have my funds made out to my trust name; thus I need to deposit the funds in my personal account and then transfer to the trust account; I am hoping that this will not be a mess with the IRS. I wish I would have gotten right; I would have much preferred the direct so not to confuse the IRS; God knows how confused they already are.

Broadfinancial handed my case to madison trust, where the lady was obviously extremly incompetent and gave wrong information. Finally her supervisor brought things into flow again, but have not recieved any excuse or personal message from broadfinancial. This type of questionars are extremly convenient and helpful for the type of bussines like walmart or even samsung, where a massproduct is exchanged and not where a few hundredtousand dollars are at stake. I would expect a little bit more of a personal touch from a boutique firm like broad or madison and hope to get that in the future! Thank you!

I called to ask a simple question? Their system told me everyone was busy and they would call me back when they were free. Joel called me back but I was busy when he called me so he went to voicemail. He left his name and extension in his message. I called him back when I was done and he answered. We talked for maybe two minutes and he helped me understand what I was questioning. I wish all customer service was this easy!

I transitioned some of my retirement assets to a Self Directed IRA with Broad Financial because I wanted to invest in local real estate. Broad has been great to work with over several years. The initial establishment of my SDIRA was done efficiently and I have been able manage it myself, follow the IRS guidelines, adhere to reporting requirements, and increase the value of my investments. Broad has been there all along for any questions I have had along the way. They are extremely responsive when I reach out to them. The service fees are very reasonable given the value they provide. I happily recommend Broad if you are considering a SDIRA.

Great Experience with Broad Financial
February 8, 2023

My experience with Broad Financial, Madison Trust and Solera Bank has been exceptional. I have a Roth and Traditional IRA with iTrust Capital which has been good, but limiting. Broad Financial provided the process and directions on how to do this correctly. All the agents I worked with at all three organizations were knowledgeable and timely in their help. It does take time and there are fees to consider, but anyone wanting to self direct their IRA should use this process.
