I used to buy a lot of things from Boston proper and loved them. Lately it seems that items I'm getting are low quality materials & poorly made and just not what they used to be. Also, with so many companies not charging for returns you would think that Boston proper would do the same. Honestly, they are the last company I go to buy anything anymore.
Emailing customer service Is useless. Whoever read my email didn't read it. They wasted my time not understanding what I was asking for, and telling me what I already knew. I wouldn't have been wasting my time emailing if I could ger a return label online. Just not very customer friendly at all. I had to call and explain, the emails are a way to blow off the customer telling insincere platitudes while turning you away. Awful and very frustrating.
I just received an order and all but one of the items did not fit properly. I spent 20 minutes trying to get through your automated system, trying to figure out how to exchange for other sizes. When I was finally able to speak to a human being, his English was really bad. He couldn't understand me any better than I could understand him. It was quite frustrating. And then two of the items I was wanting to exchange were completely out of stock so I could only exchange one of the items. I know lots of companies outsource their Customer Service to foreign countries. But if you really care about your customers, you would want them to feel appreciated and understood by your customer service agents. Please do better.
Boston proper has beautiful designs and is always promoting sales to catch customers business!
The sales are great when we want to save some money and buy beautiful clothes!
However, when you as a customer call in for a price adjustment of any kind, these are always denied.
I am fully disappointed with the way I was denied a shipping charge that was given in the promotion that was going on, but I was charged for it!
I've been a customer for over 15 years and I couldn't believe the lack of courtesy upon my request.
Shame on you!

I placed a order #******* on June 4th at 2:07 pm, And on June 6th the item still had not shipped.
This was the 2nd order I placed that day the 1st order #******* shipped the same day later that night.
I tried to order 6 items with their expedited shipping. My order went through as standard shipping. I immediately called BP to asked them to help make the change. They said they couldn't do anything. Their suggestion was for me to order and pay for everything again and then return the duplicate order. It was an order for almost $400.00, so I chose not to do that. Boston Proper has been more cooperative in the past and make the adjustment on line without hesitation. Very dissatisfied with that representative.
I ordered their travel clothes for a trip. I waited for a suit to ship so I could make my final decisions. When I tried to start my return I was a few days past their30 day return policy. They absolutely would not relent. I am 77 years old and have vast experience with shopping online. I have never encountered such poor customer service. They have lost my business forever.
I've ordered many many things from this company. I've always done it with confidence. I ordered a travel outfit just a couple weeks ago as you know if you shop Boston proper it's very expensive. The outfit that I ordered was greatly marked down after I placed my order I believe the item had shipped. It may not have, but I'm gonna go ahead and assume that it did, I however, had not received it, and I did not receive it for several days after I requested a refund of the difference of the price I paid and the new price on the item that I purchased their site clearly states that they do give these type of refunds within a certain timeframe. I received an email that after review I would not be receiving that refund of the price difference I'm actually contemplating returning the entire outfit for a full refund, I will not shop with this outfit again. This is some of the worst customer service I have received in my 63 years.
As a customer with the highest credit score possible & a customer for many years of BostonProper.com, but NO LONGER, EVER! I ordered 2 items & asked for 2 day delivery willing to pay for that. That same evening, I received a bulk email from them offering free 2 day delivery. The next day, I called & asked to have my 2 day delivery credited back to my Amex since 24 hours hadn't even passed & of course I haven't received my purchase. It took 2 days to get a response or a US customer rep speak with me & REFUSED! Can you believe that? This is not the 1st 2nd orc3rd time that I've had tremendous difficulty with Boston Proper. However, it is the last. I will never buy from them again & you shouldn't either! The absolute worst. No company operates that way. 12 hours after placing the order, they offered free 2 fay delivery & wouldn't credit my purchase that was placed not even 12 hours before their bulk email!
The discount is applied online but when you go to pay, the amount of the order doubles. When I called to cancel, I was refused. Asked to speak to a manager and got the extended wait on line. Horrible web site and customer service - avoid!
I bought a dress and needed to return for a size adjustment. This whole ordeal has taken over 2 months and they are a nightmare to deal with. Every person you get on the phone is terrible I had to escalate to a manager for a refund. It took over 3 weeks for them to process a return and another 7 business days for them to actually credit me. DO NOT SHOP HERE.
I ordered an item which was received damaged. Then I returned items for exchange. 10 days after they received the returned merchandise, I still had not heard from them. After a 30 minute phone call, they tell me they cannot exchange the merchandise and that I will need to go back online and place a new order for what I want. But they are willing to refund my money for the returned merchandise. (Gee, thanks!) That all would be fine except for the fact that I bought the items using a 30% discount code. After arguing that fact, the agent returns to advise me that she can give me a 20% discount code. Not the same - totally unfair since it was a damaged item I was returning. Utterly ridiculous. Shame on Boston Proper!
The styles and materials are passable. But the customer service is crappy. Took over 5 phone calls over a week to get them to accept the fact that one of their garments had a bad size label on it...mainly because it was 38 days after the order.
I ordered a dress on a Wednesday before 2 pm to wear to my granddaughters Christening on Sunday. I paid the $20 for two day shipping, assuming I would get it Friday or Saturday the latest. The dress did not arrive to late Monday. When I asked for a refund for my expedited expenses, the rep originally insisted I did not place the order until Friday (which makes no sense for a dress I needed on Sunday). Later, a supervisor admitted I did place the order on Wednesday but the bank didn't approve the charge until Thursday morning? (I never heard of this before but I still should have gotten it by Saturday). They then told me that they do not deliver on weekends! So why did they allow me to spend $20 on 2 day shipping if they knew it wouldn't get there until 5 days later! Not only did the reps lie to me about when it was ordered but for a lousy $20, they lost a good customer. If this company is not willing to take responsibility for its' own mistakes, and not willing to give even a little to help make a regular customer happy, then I would prefer to shop elsewhere!
I have used Boston Proper for many years and never had a problem with them. Even met the president of the company once in Palm Beach. I have returned some things that I did not like and had no problem. They have great sales and one of my very favorite places to shop online. I do recommend them
I would never order from Boston Proper ever again! My husband ordered several items for me this past Christmas. He usually knows my sizes pretty well. Everything he ordered, I loved and most fit well. However, there were two items which were quite expensive that had to be returned. One was a blouse which I would have loved in a smaller size and one was a dress the was just not me and it was also about 2 sizes too large anyway. So we tried to return online and his order popped up listing everything he ordered including an unpleasant message saying that all of these items below are NOT eligible for return. Every single item was not eligible! It did not even give us the option to exchange for another size or give us a credit for a return. I believe this is fraudulent. Where on their website does it say that items ordered cannot be returned? I have seriously looked and even looked all over their catalogue. I have called their Customer Service Department numerous times and their phone just rings and rings. You can't even leave them a message not that it would probably do any good. I've been fuming upset ever since. So now I am stuck with two items I cannot wear and we are out all this money. I have told all of my friends and relatives of my experience and I don't believe they or I will ever order from this fraudulent company ever again. I think there is a law which states that the company should at the very least have to give a credit to buy something else from them upon a return, but no such thing was offered to me. It's a real shame that this company has gone right down the tubes as I did like their clothes and have ordered from them in the past. But their customer service is horrendous! Don't get stuck! Don't order anything from them!
I purchased what I thought was a suit set, but I didn't realize it was just the pants. I realized my mistake as soon as I got my order confirmation. I tried to call right away to cancel before they shipped it but they refused to cancel. They refused to refund me too. So now I'm stuck with a pair of pants I didn't want and now have to file a dispute with my credit card to get my money back. Awful company.
So frustrated…I had ordered and paid for a present in early December in hopes of assuring delivery on time for Christmas. Boston Proper website said 5-7 days for delivery. The delivery has still not been made on January 2nd. I have called them four times and after half hour sessions with the service department I get the same story. They hired FedEx to deliver to a PO Box which of course FedEx doesn't do. Then they say that FedEx has proof of delivery to a crème colored residence door in a different community.They suggest I call FedEx but of course FedEx was not delivering for me.They work for Boston Proper. I get promised a call back within 48 hours GUARANTEED but no one ever calls back. No delivery, no refund to my credit card and no help what-so-ever. Please don't shop Boston Proper. You can't trust them.
I purchase a sweater full price at 73.00. It went on sale and they will only refund 58.00. On top of that they want 5.00 rerurn postage. Not worth their over priced items and return policies made to cheat their customers
