You know it might be just hecking peachy for some of your customers to purchase everything online. I dont have that option. Thanks booktopia for making impossible for me to uni books anymore. I honestly wish co-op would come back- at least i was able to physically go into the store. Customer service is a joke. The whole thing is just a hecking joke.
I've been using Booktopia for many years and have never had a problem with their service. I received constant updates from them regarding my order, postage and delivery. Even during Covid 19 my books arrived within 5 days, and packed in eco friendly packaging. I will definitely continue to use Booktopia and highly recommend there service.
I was disappointed to find I could not download an epub format book which I purchased. You need to have special software to read the book, this wasn't clear to me from the outset, the web page advertises that books are downloadable, and they are in epub format. Request for help resulted in them just sending me a FAQ reply.
Disappointing for an Australian book store.
Have purchased several ebooks. Their books are usually a little cheaper than most and they have good EOY sales. They also offer AfterPay, which is great for students. I did have one issue with one of the ebooks, but they resolved it quickly and efficently. Highoy recommended.

I had communication from Booktopia indicating payment, receipts, order and delivery... all throughput the process which kept me informed and anxious for my order to arrive, which it did in days. I would have expected a longer wait, but it arrived in a very timely manner, well package and with easily identifiable delivery details. Ordered 2 books through Booktopia. Order said ship within 15 business days.
First book arrived after 19 business days. Second book has still not arrived after 45 business days. Requested refund and was ignored until I raised a PayPal dispute, Now they say they will only refund if I cancel dispute. Do not trust this business. Would never use again.
My university uses Booktopia to order our books from for our units. I searched my unit, saw the book that's needed and bought it. A week or so later, but as early as I could have been told, our lecturer said we needed a different book and was told to ignore what was on Booktopia. I then had a live chat with Booktopia and explained the situation, that there was an error on their website and I had purchased the wrong book and asked if I could exchange for the right book. I was then told no I couldn't, it was my fault I got the wrong book as I hadn't checked with my lecturer first, that their website is a guide only' (but that's not written anywhere) but why would I need to check with my lecturer first if when I search my unit that's what comes up? Isn't that what normally happens with a booklist website, it's correct? Apparently it's classed as a change of mind purchase' which they don't refund, even though I asked for an exchange, not refund. I now have a $50 book which is of no use to me. Wont be recommending this place to friends and family.
Their books are much more expensive in comparison to other book companies. I was also disappointed that the delivery was almost 8 $. That is way too much. Book depository is cheaper and delivery times super quick and guess what, it is also free.
Ordered my book and paid. No fuss. Book arrived by courier as they said it would. Very prompt service and great tracking available
Business 101 - under promise and over deliver.
Do not send emails stating "this item has been confirmed with our supplier and is in stock" when you clearly haven't and it clearly isn't.
Furthermore, don't make the customer chase you!
