Orders have arrived promptly. The only thing I would say is a caveat for the company at least is that you can often find similar items at a better price.
Blue Nile isn't a bad place to buy a ring, but I found the diamonds to be only so so and making a return was harder than I had anticipated. The customer service on the phone was good though.
I tried to be as absolutely thorough as I could when purchasing my engagement ring. I was of course wanting the most bang for my buck and looked at numerous avenues for the purchase. I really did my homework and the ring I chose as well as the setting was perfection. Everyone has commented on the clarity of the diamond. It may not be the biggest stone in the world but the clarity of the stone is unmatched. She has shown it to some of her friends who have bigger stones. And all of them are envious of the clarity of her stone. Very very pleased with Blue Nile every step of the way. The customer service and shipping was fantastic and I never felt as if there were any red flags or anything like that. As a matter of fact we're going to get the two additional bands that go with her ring as compliments. Don't hesitate. Remember you get what you pay for and I wanted a bigger Stone initially and was going to get a cheaper Clarity and grade but I realize you do actually get what you pay for. I am very happy. Or should I say my fiance is very happy which means I am very happy
I bought one and it matched my outfit. The customer service is good as well as the product. I will purchase next time.
I attempted to buy a ring from them (engagement setting without the diamond). When I tried to add the ring to my cart, it wouldn't let me. I chatted with one of their reps and he told me that I needed to buy the diamond from them. I wanted to buy a lab grown diamond from a different site since Blue Nile doesn't sell lab grown diamonds. The guy was pushy and tried to convince me to buy a diamond from them. The lab grown I ended up buying was $9,000 versus a natural one on Blue Nile that would have cost me nearly $80,000. Thanks but NO thanks!
The rep said they could sell the ring but I would have to sign paperwork acknowledging that it would just be the ring without the prongs, that the warranty would be void as soon as I added prongs, the ring would come in a "standard size" and would need to be resized, and a several other caveats. The guy said it was pretty "straightforward" yet having to add prongs and get a ring resized is nowhere near "straightforward" when you look into it.
I told him that all those modifications to the ring would be costly, timely, and overall a complete hassle. He copped an attitude and said he didn't care how much it would cost me locally to get the ring modified. Then he got pushy again and started asking for my name, phone number, credit card number, etc. As if I would ever give them my business after catching an attitude with me!
I called several jewelry stores to see how much the cost would be to add the prongs and to get the ring resized. It would have cost me an additional $800 on top of the cost of the rings itself. Plus the turnaround time would have been at least three weeks. Again, thanks but NO thanks!
I ended up getting the diamond and the setting from a different site and had an outstanding experience with them. They were super friendly and have updated me as to the status of the ring regularly.
Love my earrings! The representative I talked to was very helpful in helping me pick out what I wanted.
I really like this site. They have a great selection of engagement rings. They offer free shipping and 30 day return policy. Awesome site...
Everything was excellent from the purchase to the shipping. I will shop at Blue Nile again soon. Oh, and she loved the earrings.
Thanks for the glowing review, RJ!
Thankyou BlueNile for your amazing service. I have brought ring and pendant. I am really satisfied with the purchase, quality and price
My issue is with my wedding band. When inreceived it the sizing was smaller than what I ordered. I had purchased a 5.5 and it measured in at a 5.25 which ended up fine because it fit perfectly. The reason I know the size is because I brought it to a jeweler to get it inspected and was told this was the actual size. The next issue is that the ring has a milagrain design and is very pretty. However, after a little over two years of wearing it the milagrain has almost completely worn off. I sent it back and they accused me of bringing it to another jeweler and that jeweler must have polished off the design. This is absolutely not true and what jeweler would polish off the design of a wedding band?! Also, wouldn't I be asking a jeweler to fix it if they ruined it. Next Bluenile told me that I had the ring worked on since it was not a size 5.5. I told them it arrived in a smaller size for which they told me was impossible. Well it's not impossible and that is what happened. Then they asked me if I dropped something on the ring or if Input it through some trauma, which I have not. I simply wear the ring on a daily basis as I am sure most people do with their wedding bands. They thought I wanted a new ring but I wanted them to repair my original wedding band as it has sentimental value. I received the ring and it is not repaired. While the milagrain is back in some spots it is not in all and there are parts around the diamonds that are so worn I'm worried the diamonds will fall out. I am disgusted with this company. If you want quality and a product that will last a lifetime do not buy from Bluenile!
Jewelry broke first day my gf got it. She put it on and didn't even have it on for two hours before realizing the chain snapped
We are so sorry to hear that your jewelry broke! Please email service@bluenile.com with your full name and order number so we can look into the matter for you.
I enjoyed the process of finding the exact 3CT (6CTW) earrings I wanted on BN. There were plenty to choose from in a variety of prices, cut, clarity, color. My only issue with the shopping and choosing process was that many pairs of earrings did not have photos of both stones that I could look at to see the effect of the color or flaws on the overall look of the stone. I loved being able to set the color cut, clarity etc and then choose from my exact criteria. Shipping was fast and secure so no issues there. I called to get a question answered and found the CS person helpful and responsive.
My main complaint keeping this from a 5 star experience is that the earring backs I received are cheap and small. The earring I purchased are over 9mm in diameter and over 3CT each. This is a heavy stone and the earring back should be able to support it in an upright position on the ear lobe. The backs I received were about 4 mm in diameter and are unable to hold the earring upright on my ear. I have previously had 2CT diamond stud earrings and they had a back almost as wide as the diameter of the stone itself. They securely held the stone upright perfectly. Cheaping out on the backs for relatively expensive diamond studs was s surprising misstep for a jeweler who presumably sells a lot of diamond stud earrings.

We got our engagement and wedding rings(for both of us). They customized the men's ring, that was available nowhere. Too good….
We ordered a men's wedding band. It arrived in a timely manner and is of excellent quality. We couldn't be happier.
Thanks for the review, Tammy! Happy to hear about your positive Blue Nile experience.

From a company like Blue Nile I would never expect such a bad behaviour like we experienced when buying a pink diamond.
We have bought a pink diamond from their shop and without even notifying they cancelled our booking. After some days I checked the tracking and it said that the purchase was cancelled. After some attempts I was forwarded to a lady that was, indeed friendly and helpful, but did give us the wrong information. She said that the diamond was already sold and that it was a tecnical issue we could buy it at all. They did not offer any discount or anything and as a substitute they did not offer diamonds that were comparible to the diamond we bought. After some days we saw the EXACTLY SAME DIAMOND online again at the much higher price. After calling the support again they told us that the price was wrong and that their supplier decided to not ship it. LUYING TO CUSTOMERS AND TRICKING THEM IS ALWAYS A BAD BEHAVIOUR! From a big company like Blue Nile and their suppliers I would expect much more professionality. Will never buy again because you never know if you will really get your diamond or not!
Hi Adriana, Thanks for your honest review. We're sorry to hear about your experience and will make sure this feedback is taken to our internal teams. We take all feedback seriously and use it to fuel our efforts at continuous improvement.
