Automatic plugins, pre-installed and popping again and again even after deleting them, is very annoying.
Just getting started, can't provide more feedback. Good information for those just getting started though!
Gordon was brilliant. He helped me resolve my issue.
The customer see vice is just not existent. I am for hours waiting for someone to help me on the chat. You say 24/7 customer service, but is a lie.
I'm using BlueHost because I need to buy a domain. But getting access, creating an account is VERY frustrating! I was assigned a temporary domain name by a customer service representative (CSR) to create my account. Now I need to remove that temporary domain to create space for the one I'm trying to buy. But I can't do that. So I used the chat function for help, but the CSR there has NO IDEA what she's doing, almost killed my entire account. And I can't transfer to a new rep. I've even tried logging out and back into my account - the CSR rep is still there! I've asked to be transfered to another CSR. I've asked her to end the call. I can't get rid of her. The seller wants to give me the domain but I don't have a place to put it. FRUSTRATING
Difficult to customize, complicated menu
I've written a website before, by comparison, using Bluehost and Wordpress is like pulling hens teeth. I can't remember when I was last so angry. I've wasted 1.5 days on this already and have apparently lost off of yesterday's work. All you're interested in is taking the money and upselling.
The domain registration was a bit confusing, ended up with an auto-assigned domain and then switching to my preferred domain was a whole process, but Shamitha got it sorted.
I cancelled with google domains and you still charged me.
Great for new business owners. Easy and efficient.
Well as soon as I linked my domain name the entire dashboard for wordpress no longer loads and the window will time out every time, barring me from any access to my site.
I'll adjust rating once its taken care of.
I have had constant problems logging into my domain, maintaining a password, and editing my site. I believe something about my credentials has made it harder to process my information for some reason. I received assistance early on with logging in, although they did make it so I can now log in, I wasn't told why it sometimes doesn't work and still have not been able to edit at all.
Security IP not set right so now have to wait up to 48 hours to log in to word press securely
I am in my 60s. I can't work out how to organise and create my home page. I need help or a step by step tutorial.
I'm still learning, as I've never created a website before, and this can be a little confusing, but once I learn it better, I think it will be great. I am not using the service to design the website for me, as it costs money, and I've just been laid off of my job.
The site says you can purchase bluehost before you choose a domain which I did. It does'nt tell you that if you do, you will be stuck with a wierd username and you have to call in to have your purchased domain manually switched. Then I was told this wouldn't work, that I have to wait 100 hours before domains can be switched and I had to pay for the domain because because I chose it after? Also, Even when I press the i'm finished in the chat box or empty the cache on my computer I still have to completely refresh the site for the chat box to disappear. I am very hopeful that once I'm finished with the beginning setup that things will go more smoothly.
I asked for help concerning the start up of my blog because it claims I don't have an SSL certificate when I purchased the basic hosting plan yesterday. There was an estimated wait time of less than a minute, yet over an hour later I still have not been assisted.
Im not able to aggregate all domains under one user id
Answer: NO - please do not go with Bluehost, it will save you a lot of hassle. They have the worst customer service and take your accounts offline just so you upgrade for more money even though the thresholds were not met. This means they are just running a scam by taking your websites offline and then offering the solution to get them back online by paying more money to them. My websites were down for 6 days and I've lost hundreds of dollars in income, have to pay my developers for all the work they did and NONE of it will be refunded by Bluehost. I migrated everything away from them and they do not even want to refund my sign-up costs. It is a total scam run but incapable and money-grabbing people whereas the CEO of Endurance group Jeff Fox made $10.000.000 in 2019 alone and the CEO of Bluehost Suhaib Zaheer $2.300.000. Be aware you do not get scammed by them, I've warned you. They are an evil company run by people with zero morals. I am going to report their theft to the FTC, BBB, and law enforcement. I will not go down without a fight and they will regret stealing from me and other affiliates as their reputation sinks in the toilet.
