I don't buy or read magazines due to bad eyesight and time is limited. I am just now getting magazines out of the blue...
Ordered a magazine from Groupon/Blue Dolphin and never received it. No response from inquiries I made.
I ordered 4 magazine subscriptions for Christmas gifts in November 2020. We immediately received 6 issues of Golf Digest (going back to the summer of 2020) so I'm not sure if our subscription will end early. We have only received 1 issue of Backpacker Magazine and have received NO issues of Seattle Met. I've contact customer service 3 times, but only get an automated reply that they are looking into it, but I did get a renewal notice for Seattle Met.
Stay away from this site! It's truly hit or miss if you'll receive your order and there is ZERO customer support.
I had ordered a magazine subscription through Dolphin and it took 5 days for them to respond to my message. I had asked them to change the address to a gift subscription to my own address, which is also the billing address, because I had entered the wrong address for the gift subscription. They rejected my request because I had changed both the recipient name and the address, even though it was changed to the person paying for the subscription! What kind of nonsense is that?! And on top of that, they didn't offer any other resolution and just closed the ticket. Terrible customer service. I don't know how they're still around. Last time I'll be ordering through them.
Would give 0 if I could. First of all customer service is terrible and very rude. The person I spoke with was very demeaning and talked down to me, when all I was trying to do was clarify their practices. I bought a subscription for my daughter on groupon for 12 months. I did not want to be auto-renewed, so I canceled the auto renew and they canceled my whole subscription. So in the end, we didn't get our 12 subscriptions and there was nothing they could do for us. We paid for a service we did not get and then was told I should have read all the terms and conditions.
I purchased a Groupon for a magazine for my granddaughters in June of 2020. I was okay with waiting for 10 weeks for the first issue. I waited 13 weeks before I sent my first email to Blue Dolphin, they told me that the magazine was issued and I should receive it in a couple of weeks. Well those couple of weeks turned into, many months. Today I received a response to my most recent email to Blue Dolphin telling me that they have no control if a magazine isn't received until they hear from the customer and that my subscription will arrive in the next 1 to 2 issues, another 10 weeks or so. Why can't my issue be immediately sent? I've been waiting 8 months... 36 weeks... 251 days... is this a reasonable amount of time to wait? I think NOT. Don't purchase a magazine from this company, you will never see that magazine, they just take your money.
I have no idea how an order was authorized to my credit card, I myself am a 65 yr. Old female with Grandchildren in their 30's no one is interested in Highlights! And I have no intrest in some People magazine! Then they charge me $30 on my credit card. What are business ethics... your company certainly don't know. I want this stoped and the phone number for this so called magazine is:
*******073 *******073
Website is set up to allow you to easily cancel subscription so that you will not be charged a renewal. The catch is that this actually cancels your entire subscription and you are also put any money spent on Groupon. It is annoying to go out of my way to post bad reviews of the service over a few bucks, but it is the principal of the matter. The no -transparent setup of the website makes for a terrible customer experience.
I have been ordering magazines through Blue Dolphin for about 4-5 years now. I have never had an issues. Yes, they do automatic renewals, but they send you a warning email. As long as you read your emails, and cancel the subscription, all is good. Once I missed the email, but it was NO PROBLEM to cancel it - it was all online and easy. Once you order (and pay) for one mag subscription, they will send you offers for mags at the best prices I have found (but it's for a limited amount of mags, decent choices but limited). I think the people giving bad reviews do not read their emails. I have not had to deal with customer service as it is all online - easy! Not the most modern site, but who cares... it's cheap. And yes, this is a legit site, a legit review and thanks Blue Dolphin for providing affordable mag subscriptions!
I have had over 6 subscriptions (Time, Wired, etc) thru Bluedolphin, both directly and via Groupon. All for a 1-year term. All auto renew at a higher price - but you can go to Bluedolphin.com, log in, and cancel subscriptions and renewals at any time. The only time I ever interacted with their customer service is when I forgot to cancel an auto-renewal; I emailed them and they canceled it, reversing the charge on my credit card. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Bluedolphin! They provide exactly what they say, and if you actually read their policies, it's easy to manage your subscriptions and renewals.
Got a Groupon subscription through this company and it was a teaser rate which was a gift for a nephew. Then months later got a charge for $50 though Blue Dolphin which apparently was a inflated regular price for that $5 teaser rate. Interesting that when I looked up this on their web site it was automatically enrolled in annual renewal.
We cancelled when we discovered this but were charged anyway. I think companies that by default automatically enroll you in auto renewals are deceptive because many times they don't even notify you of a pending charge. This is especially deception when the subscriber rate goes up significantly over what you originally agreed to. No I would not recommend any one subscribe to a magazine through Blue Dolphin.
Poor customer service. I bought a 6-month subscription to a magazine but only received two copies. I contacted customer service, who was very difficult to work with and never got back to me in a timely manner. After about 6 weeks of correspondence via email, they said my subscription was expired. I was offered a voucher code for a complimentary magazine subscription from them... however, the magazine I had previously subscribed to was not an option on the list.
I would not have cancelled anything if either of my inquiries were responded to in a timely manner.
There was a 5 year old girl waiting for these issues and when your company was non responsive I decided it must not be a legitimate company, because what company that is in a customer service industry would wait three weeks to respond to a client asking about a subscription that was placed on July 6th.
Normally I would never bother to make a claim for $1.99 but this is just not right.
I'll subscribe to the National Geographic magazine directly.
The two lazy girls sit there all day smoking and littering the place like its a dump. Nice people who live there clean and repair the facilities for free it's so bad. Some of them even repot plants and take care of the property, clean up the lazy employees cigarette mess and employees turn around and destroy the property that belongs to marina. Destruction of Blue Dolphins property by the employees! Its absolutely horrible place now. Years ago there were great people working there. Now we got the worst scum ever bringing there children in and drinking on the job. This is your job! Do it! Sit there smoking and too lazy to even manage the place. I cannot believe the stuff I see here. I kid you not the women here now will rob and destroy Blue Dolphins property and not do the little job they have. Can't even be bothered to spray for pests or scrub the bird poop off docks. Its gone straight down the gutter here. I watched one of them steal an expensive rare potted tree that lived here for years. I think that deserves termination! Not to mention all the drunken craziness, breaking and entering, cops being called. You name it. I absolutely hate the employees here now! None of this would be going on with the previous managers. I talked with a number of people moved because of it.
I was given a magazine subscription as a Christmas gift, through Bluedolphin. This already paid for gift required me to pay a "service fee" to begin my subscription. Since then, I am routinely spammed by this fly-by-night company with emails that have titles such as "Immediate response requested!" with idiocy such as "You've unlocked a $100 bonus!" --Yeah, right. Just another scum of the Earth parasite of a company. I will ensure that I never do business with them again, even if they give away their products. The sad thing is, if they just toned down their aggressive practices and had some respect for people, they could be a contender. I guess it takes a special kind of a@@---e to run a company like this.
I ordered discount magazine subscription through ADP/LifeMart at work. Didn't notice the auto-renewal in the fine print at the bottom of page off the screen. They will auto-renew your subscriptions at an exorbitant rate. They are a Visa merchant so the charges will go through even if you change your card number.
Have fun trying to get these cleared off your credit card account. Better yet, don't do business with these scam artists, you'll regret it.
Just stay away from them. The magazine was never received and instead of making sure I get it, they said the subscription is expired and I will not get it and I'm out the money. This was a Groupon purchase so I trusted it. Now I know better.
I ordered and paid for a magazine three months ago and still haven't received it. They keep sending me emails to buy more magazines. They are the worst!
Answer: Ordered 8-10 subscriptions thru them last year and received them as ordered. However, today I get a notice from my bank that there is a negative balance when I just put money in there yday. They charged everything they could, over $100, without my authorization. Didn't have a password, had to get one. No phone # to call them. No account #. No way to delete credit card info from their site. I simply paid for the subscriptions and nothing about auto renewals as I would have opted out.
Answer: Absolutely not. They charged my bank account a year later without my authorization.
Answer: After getting charged over $100 for renewals without my authorization, I go on their site. My usual password didn't work, so got one via email. Under account info is nothing but my name and email address, not even my physical address. No account number. No credit card info so I can delete my credit card info. Under Customer Care is an email address only. Nowhere on the site is a phone number. This was a second bank account, so I just put in money to pay bills. They charged 4 subscriptions equaling over $100 (negative balance now). God knows how much they would have charged otherwise.
