Same as 'Black Planet'. It is the worst site to look for dates and or meet people. The individuals are fraudulent, ask for money, and wanted to have a perverted conversation. Don't understand how these sites are still operating. I've reported the individuals and they are still on the site. I am nolonger on any of the dating sites. Becareful and alert with the site.
I see a lot of horror stories on here but I also hear a lot of horror stories from "Traditional Daters"... BPM is what you make it... just because it's online dating that doesnt guarantee a Magical Experience... but in my case, IT DID! It can for you too... wishing you much love & happiness!
I called and canceled service with Black People Meet in Jan. 2013. They continued to bill my credit card as of Jan. 2015. I couldn't understand why charges were on my credit card. Low and behold its them still billing and now the credit card company is giving me a hard time. I tried to reach Black People Meet, no success at the *******920. Sent a certified letter and I will never deal with them again, and will be canceling my credit card as they are giving me a hard time about canceling service. Never again. M Muhammad
Horrible App, Fake Profiles & Steals Your Money If You Want Renew They Block Your Access. They are pissed because after you been on for a period of time you began to realize you are not communicating and the profiles are old and fake. This is a truthful recent experience and when I tried signing in it stated access denied. They will be turned in because I had another week in a half!
I openned an account and then two weeks letter my information was accessed or used by the blackpeoplemeet administrators to fraudently use my information to open additional accounts. I was blocked out of my original account and when I reported it to BlackPeopleMeet for resolution, the resolution they offered was that they would cancel my account and they'll let me know within 48 hours if I can be reimbursed? The people I spoke to could hardly speak English, so I don't even know if my credit card information can be re-accessed again! I ended up having to cancel my credit card!
I met my husband over 15 years ago on Blackpeoplemeet. We were both over fifty. We have been happily married for thirteen years. Our journey is the best love story ever!
I want my $ back cancelled several months ago. Have not received any emails from them and was last on the site Jan, it's June and they are still billing me. Rip off company
A bunch of losers, liars and old fat men on this site. I saw an ex on the site claiming he was 51 when he really is 58. LOL... loser. I'm about to start naming names so watch out!
This site is nothing like it was back in 2014, where i can only assume it gradually got the reputation it has today and that's why people left it; allowing it to resort to today's fraudulent practices.
Half of profiles are empty. Of those filled out, they have one of the same three generic openings, which i took screenshots of and will list here. They begin with:
1. "I am am educated guy and so would like to be with someone who is the same. I also like to paint in my free time..."
2. "I usually know what i want and do my best to get it. I'm a hard worker..."
3. "Having a sense of humor is important. I laugh at myself all the time. I went someone who lives life to the fullest..."
In the last two days, I've spotted over 12 profiles the say the exact same thing. Efforts to get an explanation from the site administrators have gone unanswered this far.
Additional complaints include their selection choices, which are plain terrible and don't even make sense for the city I'm in, but an investigative site informed everyone that BPM doesn't allow you to remove you're profile, keeps all your info after you cancel, and even distributes your info across shared sites (People Media), so it may be they threat copied profiles are former members not even interacting with you anymore.
Lastly, beware your subscription and account renewal, which is automatic but they recently gave users the option to remove, tough they literally trek you the opposite. Beware these unauthorized charges on your account. All in all, a scam.
Many of the negative reviews of BlackPeopleMeet aren't about the website at all. Many are the same complaints you will see on ANY dating site: fake profiles, insincere people, poor demographic choices, etc. MATCH dot com is one of the most popular dating sites yet when I was there, they sent matches that were several states away even though I SPECIFICALLY INDICATED that I wanted to stay within a 20-mile radius. Or, people will complain because they didn't find someone compatible and again, that can happen on any site. Billing issues are a different situation. I've only recently rejoined after many years away from the site so I can't speak to shady billing practices, but so far I've had no problems. I met someone there several years ago that I dated for quite awhile. This time around, I've communicated with a few potential matches but remains to be seen if it will work out in the end. My point is: approach ALL dating sites with an open mind, common sense, and most of all, be PATIENT.
I decided to try BPM since people nowadays have an ear phone in their ears and don't talk. I regret from the start. The website give me a discount $11.25 for the month, oh yea what a lie? That LIE was bigger than America. After I made my payment it cost me close to $16. Don't trust them. I already paid, can't get my money back so I decided to use the site. Well was the greatest. Profiles just pop up with no picture saying they like my profile, my picture and give me some number to text, this happen several times, but i sense it all look like a scam, spam. I saw this girl and i say I'll try talk with her, little response with nothing to say besides."How is your day"? Most of these women who are not spam, scam are fat and ugly and call themselves(CURVY) its ridiculous. Is better if I went to the club, get tipsy with my money rather than paying this fake $#*! BPM. I believe these females on this site looking for BAD BOYS who will lie, disrespect them, abuse them, use them. Good men please stay away. Don't waste money, time and energy.
Listen I can't help but find this site racist, spreading an idea that black people are less likely to fall in love with someone white. When I saw this commercial I was a little surprised
I feel this site is better for African American women compared to others. Yes you will find yourself attracted to some individuals and to each is own but when you have men constantly throwing themselves at you in a sexual manner It's annoying. You Should follow your heart and also take your brain with you. Be careful giving contact information out right away. Most guys that are truly into you will be patient and wait. Compared to another site I found that most white males who claimed to date outside of their race were only curious. Most of them looked at African American women as sex experiments. They will tell you right away that they like big butts and some from oversea are worse. They already know that they have no desire to date/marry outside of their culture. Some use these sites as playgrounds with no intentions of developing anything more then a fling. So I returned back to bmp no one is perfect and yes you have people who are full of crap but I would rather take my chances here instead of a site with men pursuing a fetish. This is spoken from someone who married outside of her race with a child from that marriage. All I can say is be safe on any site and use common sense hope this helps someone.
Watch out for bushwacker505. He is a narcissist, totally absorbed in self. He is the center of his own universe. And people are things to be used, an object. Once he has no more use for you, he is gone. He is a liar on his profile, he's 62, married, and dangerous. His true colors will appear. He is an on-line predator who meets good and decent women to use. He is known to have been on numerous dating sites at the same time, using another name: blackpeoplemeet, blacksingles, match.com; blackchristiansmeet; ourtime, and christianmingles to name a few. This is a warning ladies. Please beware. He may say he's a pilot instructor (NOT), owns a boat, RV (NOT), houses/property (NOT). He goes by the name Gene, Eugene, Lawrence and various other alias. Dont' become a victim. Signed, Your guardian angel.
It sucks. They take you money and will not refund it for any reason. Plus most od the women are stuck up and want you to be like them. So I say date yourself.
I met my wonderful future husband on this site. I had to go through some "wrong" ones for 8 months. I was about to give up. He is amazing wedding spring of 2023!
Another dating scam app with a bunch of shallow women, who most of them I suspect are paid impersonators, all thirsty for internet validation.
What a big, fat waste of time and money.
I signed-up for an account to look around and get a feel for the site before committing money for a subscription. I posted one picture- a head shot. Two days later, I decided to give it a try and was going to purchase a subscription. I uploaded a new photo - also a headshot in accordance with the site's policies and two days later it was still pending, so my profile had no picture. I sent an email to customer service and got back an automated reply saying that if the FAQs didn't help, I should respond to the email. I did that and never heard back, so I went onto the site to remove my profile only to find a message that I could not access my account and to try again later. Two days later, I still cannot access my account and they have the nerve to send me an email telling me I should upload a picture on my profile. I. Can't. Even. With this site and if I could have given it less than one star, I would. Stay away!
They say its free to brows right, i did for a minute so i decided to do the 1 month for 16.75. Afterwards i sstarte afterwards, all of a sudden men start hitting me up but i couldn't respond back. It would say upgrade to be able to read what they're saying. My thought was UPGRADE for what. If i wasnt going to be able to communicate why did i just pay 16.75. When just browsing is free. I called my debit card to check if they've taken the money and i got very upset to hear 2 payments pending. 1 for 16.75 and 1 for 3.99. What was the 3.99 for. So i called my bank and put a stop on it and now all i say is $#*! bpm because they are scammers and ppl yall need to call and put a block on them because they are slick and they will continue to take your money even after your time is up. They tried to take a extra 3.99 out of my account and for what
My review pretty much echo the same as the other posters... this site is basically a place for the degenerates to hang out, a lot of the men have the audacity ( especially the ones who are physically challenged in the looks department or borderline $#*!ed) a list of demands of what they seek. These are the ones who can't even spell simple words, claim to make "x" amount of money and have a tribe of kids but have never been married. I hate come across as stuck up but you really would have better conversations with elementary kids. And the killing part of that is even the "seasoned" men are part of that group too... a lot of them like to start talking about sex immediately, You would think that the "silent response" or me redirecting the conversation would be a clue that speaking about explicit sex acts is a no-no. Well not to the saps on BPM some of them don't have a clue to what is considered a turn off... Like one member stated you will probably get much more benefits by investing your money in stocks instead of joining the site. It is a complete waste of time and energy... But if it's entertainment you seek then by all means join the site. You will viewing profiles of pot-bellied, corn row wearing, illiterate sex craved men.
Answer: Yes you have to pay. You can send flirts etc. I agree with Alicia, it's legit if your looking for losers, bums, ex cons or emotionally unstable men. I would never in life go back up there. That site is disgusting. Please be very safe. Lol Tinder is the best site for dating.
Answer: You will have to get local police or private investigator involved. Most forensic teams can track the person down by their ip address and other forensic techniques that the public sector isn't aware of.
