Please don't get caught in this TRAP! Hidden charges, bidding bots and paid bidders are RAMPANT! I watched this site for a few days and it is impossible for you to win items at a reasonable price. The company's bidders usually win the auction, so technically they sell the same item over and over again
I observed an auction where someone paid over retail price for an iPhone 4s. Why would anyone do that? Beware of anyone with a user name that sounds daunting, or that has Capital letters in it. These are computer generated bidders, which will rob you blind.
Dam. Good thing this site pop up first. That $#*! Diana, have me fool. That $#*!ing Hoe. People read all the reviews, before you there... That $#*! is crazy Craiglist should banned them for posting bogus $#*! like that...
What a JOKE! I was just taken for $75! Shame on me for not going with my gut... If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS! Everytime you place a bid, more time is added to the clock for someone or let's face it...(the computer) to outbid you. If there was a time limit that you knew buyers had to bid buy, you might actually have a chance to win. The way this is set up, I doubt anyone is actually winning except the computer and maybe the site owners! TOTAL RIPOFF! I can't believe they haven't been shut down!
While bidcactus seems legit, I have been bidding on it for over 2 years now, and have seen it go from legit to a scam site. I won relatvely regularly at first, then less often, to now not at all. Prizes end up costing way more then they are worth and I am convinced they have gone to house bidders driving up the price! Don't waste your time or money, trust me I've followed this site a long time, you will lose your money!
I called the site and asked them policy questions and received many defensive responses. They denied that bots were being used and clearly that is a lie. They denied that there is shill bidding yet I believe that they promote and fund it. They stand behind an audit but I wonder if they would submit to a newer one or one for specific auctions. There are more questions than answers.
Got this email after inquiring about a tv on craigslist.
Someone just bought this from me, but I can tell you where I got it from.
I just picked up 3 of these from http://www.bidforsell.com/ and I resold them on here for some extra money.
The trick is to watch for bidding to slow down and then put in a bid. That's what I do and I win all the time.

Started to sign up and decided to check the reviews. Now i see it's definitely a scam.
My experience matches many of the others here.
I responded to an ad on Craigslist for a washer/dryer at a great price. I got a reply from Katy Taylor saying it was sold, but she gets them all the time from bidcactus.
I also wondered why someone on Craigslist would give away the site, but figured it couldn't hurt to look at it. However, it looks like you have to register to see what's up for auction - this seems like a strange for a legitimate auction to attract bidders. I found this site when I looked for reviews for bidcactus.com before registering.
After reading other reviews, I will not register (and certainly won't give them any financial information).
I got shafted for $21 and am wondering if anyone seriously wins on this site. Maybe only people who work for bidcactus actually win. It feels like a a lottery site. I see nobody else posting here won either. What I want to know is if it is just my bad luck or if this site is truly an evil scheme run by kids looking to get rich off of people like me.
BidCactus is not a scam. I have bid and won many items and gift cards on this site. And I have received everything I won.
The people who run this establishment are friendly, courteous and legitimate. I had a few minor problems, but all I had to do was call them and they straightened everything out to my satisfaction and in my favor.
Also, the products they offer are not the cheapest quality... they have some decent things on there and it is like anything else, you are taking a chance on bidding on the items you want.
Also, I would like to commend these people because they give back to charities. They have offered items where they take part of the money and give to charities such as the Cancer Society, Food Banks, and now they are donating to Haiti.
I think this is a legitimate business for these people and they work hard to keep this site upstanding.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Please do not waste your money and time on this aution site. Chances are extremely slim that you will win any bid. Paying 75 cents to click and bid each time will drain your bank account and you won't have anything to show for it! I wish I had read the other complaints about Bidcactus, cause it seems there are suspicions that the bidders may be computer generated. If that's so, you most definitely won't win any bids.
I purchased a minimum $22.50 of bids today. The site is organized so it is almost impossible to win! As soon as you are the high bidder... say with 2 seconds to go... they revise the clock to about 25 seconds to go... causing all the bidders repetitive bidding for nothing! This is a total Scam!
I won a Toshiba 46" LCD HDTV
It took me exactly 360 bids.
I spent $150.00 to buy bids, then I bid on 'Bidpacks'. I studied the site for about a week after, then I seen what I wanted and kept bidding until I won.
Very coincidental that I had exactly 360 bids, and it took me exactly what I had to win.
All together I spent $260.00
There is absolutely no way that you will win anything with less then 75 bids. I guess they sell them in such a small quantities for users who need to top up their accounts.
I had a problem with shipping though. They didn't have my phone number to schedule delivery, but when I called they fixed the problem right away even though it was my fault.
It's not a scam though it's not an auction site either.
It's a game of chicken. A total gamble.
I'm a regular on a number of penny auction sites. There are some good ones, and some bad ones, but BidCactus is among the good. You can't go in thinking that you're gonna get a major deal for $. 75, but if you pay attention and bid at the right time, there are definitely bargains there. I have won a few items there, (and in fairness, on other sites as well), and have received my items without any hitch. You do have to be careful not to get too carried away on one item, but you can have fun if you have the right expectations.
This is a scam site. They have an indefinite ending time on their auctions. First, you have to pay almost $20 for 25 bids, which is unrefundable. Then you'll bid w/ 1 second left, and then all of a sudden the auction will increase time to 15-30 seconds so the auction will keep going. There is always one person that will keep bidding on it to keep it going, and that person's prob been hired by the auction to make sure to not lose the product, but get your $20+. When you call them, they tell you it was in their terms. It is a scam. Do not fall for it. You'll spend so much money on bids cause you think there's only 1 second left, but the shady guys at Bidcactus will ensure that they'll suck you dry of all your money cause that auction WILL NEVER END!
I was told by a craigslist seller that they buy IPADs on this site all the time. They made it sound real easy. I saw the same names winning auction after auction and I also saw bidders put in more bids than the items was even worth. For example, one bidder tonight, put in many more bids than 250 in order to try to win a bid package for 250 bids. It makes no sense. I am convinced that someone for the company is driving up prices and I am also convinced that the "girl" I spoke to on Craigslist that directed me to this site was in cahoots with this company as well. I don't think she ever was selling an IPAD. I think it's all been one big casino game. And baby, I just lost! Don't expect to win here. If something seems a little too easy, that's your first sign that it's a rotten apple.
The #1 issue is not how the lure you to the site, nor the cost of the bids. This #1 issue is all the reviews by winners who never receive their items. When you contact them, they make excuses and never give a ship date.
The #2 issue is the mental health of the customers. Why do they keep bidding and throwing money away when they don't receive a single gift card, jewelry item, or electronic? The only items they do send, on rare occasion, are the useless florida or mexico trips, or the valueless $50 e-cards where the only thing you can purchase with it is a cheap ice cream scoop you could have bought at the $1 store.
This site is the real deal. You can win awesome prizes with modest shipping charges and real speedy shipping. The smart bidder will watch the bidding for a day to watch for big bidders who are tough to beat. Then buy a bid pack and focus on one auction at a time. I will continue to use this site.
I ended up paying WAAAYYYY more money for the gift cards that I "won"! This site sucks! You bid and then get into bidding wars and hardly ever win. I think I ended up spending over $225 for $150 in Gift Cards. I will never put my money there again. Don't waste your time or money. You have a better chance at playing slot machines at a casino then on BidCactus.
I started bidding at the end of December and if I had read these reviews probably never would have.
I am NOT an employee but I have had some luck with the site. You have to be careful that you don't get caught up in a war with someone and starting getting crazy.
I bought a 25 bid pack and won $100 visa and then a $100 Best Buy card. I have only won a few items since then but I did get the items the other day (two + weeks later) so it wasn't a scam like I thought it might be.
Don't waste bids buying bid packs and spending more than you win! People seem to get crazy on these kinds of sites so if you see it happening stop bidding on that item. Good luck.
Since I used this site back in October of 1012, I still have not received my knives. I have talked to Nick, Kip and some bit-- that claimed she owns the company. Today I got fed up and told them to just keep my money. How could you go to work and scam people day after day and really, I mean really do you feel good about yourself. I won some gift cards being a newby, and they arrived months later. The cards and knives were for Christmas presents, never to be seen before that date. I am a cancer patient and this seemed to be a good way to get my gifts, as I do not drive. SCAM... SCAM... SCAM... and yes I do recognize the same bidders winning more than they should, and spending WAY more than they should. If I would have done my due diligence, I would not be in this situation. Hopefully this will help some of you that read this to... STAY AWAY!
Answer: I am so very grateful that before I sumitted by credit card for final payment to purchase 25 bids on Bidcactus.com that I had to be someplace and was running late. While driving home I thought that perhaps I was missing something because it seemed too easy. I had watched BidCactus for two days and was dying to join and bid. I held back and decided to google bidcactus reviews and found a ton of negative information that convinces me this is a scam and in between I found only a few posters who had as they put it "figured out the game" More power to them. I literally check on line shops, auctions scams etc and cannot believe I almost joined. Thank you everyone for taking the time to post. I am also surprised at the dates of the beginning of these reviews--I find it hard to believer that MyPoints is still involved and that BidCactus is still doing business. I am out of there.
BidCactus has a rating of 1.4 stars from 193 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with BidCactus most frequently mention extra money, gift card and penny auctions. BidCactus ranks 112th among Penny Auction sites.
