It is surely a fake since I saw two fake users (system users) bidding $100 AMEX gift card with more than 500 bids@ 75 cents per bid. I will even name the users vitar and rollthedice. I think after reading this post they will remove this two users and use brand new names because it won't take long for the users to figure out that they are bidding against fake users.

Found 3 tvs emailed the owner and got this back 3:00 am from all 3 owners.
Hello A guy just purched this from me, but I can tell you where I got it from. I just got 4 of these from here retailcacts.com and I resold them for some extra money. The trick is to watch for bidding to slow down and then jump in. That's what I do and I win all the time.

Well, to start with - they have all cheapy products.
On top of that, they do not even have buy it now option on auctions.
All in all, they simply boost about their so called 'certifications' and take your money.
Penny auctions are hard to trust. I've won 2 items on bidhere.com, and they delivered it, but I am still very careful of penny auctions. Sites like bidhere.com at least have buy it now on all auctions, thats a deal maker for me, personally.

Answered an advertisement in our local Craigslist. Finally got a reply via email that their email address was no longer in service, try this other email address (fishy?). So I sent the email inquiry to the other email address and got a reply that the item was sold already but that I should go to retailcactus.com to buy iPad Minis because that is where they got their items. Claimed they bought them on retailcactus.com and then re-sold them on Craigslist.

First, why would anyone who is selling on Craigslist tell potential buyers that they should go to a website to buy product at a lower price and make money like they do? Smells like scam!

Second, the web address retailcactus re-directs you to bidcactus.com website. Why not just put in the actual web address? Smells like scam! Probably the characters 'bidcactus.com' have been prohibited by Craigslist.

Third, come here and read the reviews and know there is a scam going on

I just talked to their rep & was given a few hints. She told me that they sold a TV for $50.00 and I said that would be $3,750 + the $50.00 for a total of $3800. 00 we suckers paid out for a $1,00.00 TV. She amitted they made over $2,000.00 PROFIT ON THIS ITEM. I told her that was a SCAM and she told me I"d never get a TV with only a $37.50 Package of bids. Well thats what I'm out right now.
I think everyone should tell as many people about this and write to MYpoints about this SCAM!
Please do it NOW before you froget!

Well I signed up for a free acount and have been watching for a couple of days to see how the bidding works. They have mailed me numerous coupons to entice me to buy some bids. I didnt fall for it and I guess as their last ditch effort they sent me 5 free bids so I thought I would check it out again. I totally believe this site scams BAD! I noticed the same names numerous times bidding on different things but at the same time? If that doesnt raise a caution flag I don't know... I have decided to stay away from this site!

I reveived the same email.
Hi there

Someone just bought this from me, but I can tell you where I got it from.
I just got 3 of these from cactusretailer.com and I resold them on craigslist for some extra money.

The trick is to watch for bidding to slow down and then place your bid. That's what I do and I win most of the time.

Scam, fake, ploy... call it what you want but its a company that uses auto bots (no not transformers) to jack up bid prices. To see what it was about, I bought a $79 bid package that allowed me over 100 bids. As I watched what was happening, people were bidding 50 times to win a 10 bidpack. That is to say, in order for someone to win 10 free bids, they placed over 50. Im not that bright but can see the scam within the first 5 mins of bidding.

Wseichman is one auto bot I watched for about an hour. From a rough estimate of the history in one hour "it" placed over 400 bids to win less than 100 free bids.

Seeing BBB listed on the home page is misleading but then again, in todays world we teach kids to rob and steal for what they want if they want to get ahead. So this site is about par... so sad.

They got me for $79 because I thought it would be legit seeing it on the news. I should know better nowadays.

Ripoff!
March 20, 2011

Ripoff!
Bids cost $0.75 each and are available in packs of 30, 50, 100, 150, and 250 bids. So each of your "penny" bids is costing you. 75 cents each. Stay away from this site unless you like throwing your money away.

Bidcatus uses fake Craigslist ads to lure people... it happened to me, and several others that I saw on Google. I tried to buy a refrigerator from Craigslist, the seller emailed me and said it has been sold, but that I could buy a similar item for cheaper at bidcactus. I wne to the bidcactus site, and tried to register... but they asked me for a credit card in order to complete the 3 steps to registration. I inadvertently gave out my credit card info, HUGE MISTAKE, bec bidcactus charged me $79 as soon as I finished registering! I did not even know that I purchased anything! I right away felt and knew that this was a scam! I googled bidcactus and confirmed my hunch. This place is EVIL, stay away from it.

I watched an auction on this site. It was for a $299.00 sony e-reader. I watched 2 bidders bid this item all the way up to nearly $40.00(before I finally at to quit watching, but it was still going) at a penny a bid, and a bid costs $. 75. That comes out to $3000. 00 for a $300 item. It was only the two bidders bidding the whole time. Can anyone explain this to me? I have watched many other auctions with simular craziness. This is insanity! For you out there who are naive about this stuff, I'd stay away, far away from this site. Those of you that are using this site, Id recomend getting some help. This site is definately a SCAM if you think you are coming here to get some good deals. You will not!

I won (surprise, surprise) one "beginner entry". After that, I too had a "gone", my bid was last, and I also did not win. Thank goodness I got this site out of my system before I lost TOO much. As the old saying goes..."CAVEAT EMPTOR'---buyer beware!

I am so upset...
January 28, 2014

I am so upset... I wish I had seen these reviews before I got caught up at bidcactus. I started out with my first experience with penny auctions in December at another site and didn't get my items as quickly as they stated so I did a search for the "best penny auction sites" and found a 3rd party review of sites which had bidcactus in the top 3 sites. So I tried it out and competition was good but not to tough so I stuck with it. What a mistake! The bids and discount coupons for purchasing bids I've won were credited immediately so I thought all was ok. I have won many items and gift cards but have not seen one!

I emailed them and they said someone from their shipping department would contact me shortly--nothing yet. I have tried to call several times but keep getting an answering machine that says I am calling at the wrong time of day even though I call during their normal business hours. I posted to their facebook page to ask them what was going on and they removed the post.

All of December and maybe the first week of Jan 2014, they had lots of gift cards at many different values and many high ticket items. But around the second week, they started just auctioning off mostly bids with one other item auction and three gift card/coupon auctions but the other items are all junk and the gift cards are the same three over and over again.

I am going to the BBB, Attorney General, PayPal, and Visa to see it I can recoup some of my loss.

What a scam! Whatever you do, don't waste your money! Ripoff!

If you are new bidder you may do well, after winning something big you are targeted and they will sick a shill bidder on you. I have watched this site for a wile, I have seen three shill bidders that I am sure and I am sure there is more. Becareful its not the site they say, there are sites that don't do this.

Haven't used the site but I have been watching. Everyone is talking about the BBB (Better Business Bureau). I checked it and it got a B+ and it is LLC. It sounds like you really have to be careful but the terms are spelled out clearly on the site which it sounds like most of the complaints did not read. I believe whoever started the site was very smart wish I had the idea

SCAM SITE!
September 2, 2013

SCAM SITE! BEWARE! Craigslist had a grill for sale. I emailed the seller. She (katie) said that it was sold, but that she had bought a few of them on bidcactus and she buys stuff on there all the time and sells stuff and makes a profit all the time. I trused that and checked into the site. Just signing up, i didn't realize i was buying bid packages or something of that nature. Low and behold, i have a $79 credit card bill for nothing. Bidcactus has a phone number, but try calling ---- surprise surpries! Disconnected! I went back to the craigslist person. Told her what happened, and told her/him i would be filing a law suit against them unless they could prove they were legit. Never heard from her/him.
LETS ALL complain to craigslist. CLASS ACTION SUIT - ANYBODY A LAWYER? I like to see the owners of that company do some time!
