It was my first order from this company and i'm completely satisfied with everything. Books were exactly as described and in much better condition from what i expected. Delivery was a few days late but considering the difficulties due to the current pandemic it was of course understandable. I will definitely order again!
I first heard about BetterWorldBooks through a server I'm in that listed them as a reliable resource to buy books from. After doing my research, I found that they have sustainable practices in selling books as well as donating proceeds to literacy causes, both of which I wholeheartedly support. I also love that I can get such great deals on almost new books! All that together makes BetterWorldBooks one of my new favorite online book shopping sites.
Everything about my ordering process, shipment, and the quality of the product was excellent. No surprises; no disappointments. My book even sent me a whimsical e-mail confirming my order and looking forward to making the trip to see me! AND... Better World Books does good things to make a better world. That's the bonus. This group is worth supporting, for sure!
The books arrived in good condition, packaging was OK, books didn't get damaged due to the packaging. Delivery time was a little high, but acceptable considering the current situation. I would love if a tracking option would be introduced for extra cost, it would provide a peace of mind for those who want to see where their package is at all times.
I buy all my books from Better World Books. They offer used books at a very low price and shipping is included. I've not had a single issue in the many years I've bought from them. I also like the idea of recycling books so that they don't end up collecting dust. You can mail books back to them at no charge to be resold. I could sell at a yard sale for 50 cents or $1, but I'm not going to have a yard sale, so why not?
I've bought a few books from this company over the last few years, and I've always been pleased with their products and practices. Their books are cheap but are always in good condition. I love that they're focused on ethical consumption and climate awareness. I'll definitely buy from them again in the future. The one downside is that their shipping usually takes longer than I would like. Not a big deal except when I needed a book by a certain date.
Better World Books never fails to give a good experience. Recently purchased an old cookbook for a friend, and expected "good condition" to be meh; but this hard-cover book was in excellent condition and will make an awesome gift. I luv this company and what they do for literacy.
We loved the witty personal message that came with the book, ostensibly from the book itself (examples: You mean me? Someone chose me! Is it cold out there? Will I need my dust jacket?)
Also, the company supports a critical social cause, so buying from BWB was a win-win.
Bought collectible books and they steal them and sell on their antique book site on eBay. Not happy at all. They also raise prices on items in my cart. Greedy creeps! Selling free donations for outrageous price
Concerned that Amazon is monopolizing the book marketplace? BetterWorldBooks is one remedy. With a marvelous selection of titles -- including used books in mint condition -- and easy-to-use website, BetterWorldBooks gets books to you promptly. And prices are excellent.
In looking for a non Amazon owned source for an out of print book I found this site. Not only was I happy with the price but delighted when I found out how the site sourced its stock and what it did with the proceeds. Will now make it my first port of call.
International delivery was 23 days during pandemic and over a distance of several thousand miles. I consider that very good.
Received titles ordered in specified condition with prompt delivery for virtually every one of my many orders. Very pleased with free delivery that is not offset by increased prices. Even more pleased by making contributions to literacy.
I find I often need a book that is now out of print. I've used other providers in the past. Of course, Amazon has muscled their way into the used book category but they are not a firm I use when there is another option. I only came to Better World Books this year. They have come through each time and have titles I could not find else where.
Well, since I have been a customer since 2003 you know BWB is my favorite place to buy books. I have always had a positive experience. Years ago delivery took 2-3 weeks, but now it is only a few days. They are absolutely wonderful, books are always in excellent condition and how they get those books to write me a letter, like no one else can, I'll never know.
Better World Books sells discarded library books and donates money to literacy. Shipping is free - you might not get it overnight, but you're saving books from landfills and helping others. The book I ordered was in good condition and came faster than I expected. This is my go-to site for books I can't find at the library or my local bookseller.
My first experience with BWB was a suggestion through my grand daughter's teacher to purchase books. I was amazed at how cheap they were and in adequate condition. I have since been ordering books for my daughter and she said that the books are in good condition and might have some writing in them but it is to be expected with second hand books... that's why they are discounted. I have also found their service quite good and have never had to wait terribly long for an item. I highly recommend Better World Books.
Betterworldbooks is my best supplier on research topics. So far, I have discovered loads of fascinating books ranging from old to new. Every time, i am looking for a specific title, I go check if perchance they have it. Most of the time, they do.
Cheap books, with almost no visible damage (perhaps a line scribble here or there if the quality of the book is marked "good"). Buy buying books from this site you are committing yourself to a great goal of enhancing accessibility of books to American's in need. This is 100% better than Amazon and Bookdepository (now owned by amazon).
Betterworldbooks is a very trustworthy website for any booklover! Would definitely recommend this to everyone that likes a good read but needs to save some money since books can be very expensive. The books never came in a bad shape and dont miss any pages.
We now check this site first when looking for any title. They have a lot of the titles used for a small fraction of the cover price and that has enabled us to expand our library dramatically. That is especially great as I have an 8 year old bookworm and I like to encourage her love for books. The caveat is if she loves a book she wants to own it and re-read it. Better World Books makes this possible.
Answer: You can probably, maybe able to see them on line somewhere, on an American government site for universities as they are out of the University of Indiana... that's my guess anyway.
Answer: I have only ever had one order go astray and they refunded the purchase as soon as I reported it If you still haven't received your order you should notify them. They will probably refund your purchase as it may have been lost.
Answer: It's a non-profit run by volunteers at several sites around the U.S. Many of their books are from public libraries & in good condition often. They also get donations from the public & some of those are in only Fair or Good condition, though lots are in Very Good/Like New or New condition. My favorite thing about BWB is their free book donations to very poor countries! I've bought from BWB for over 4 years & have bought close to a 100 books. Great non-profit!
