I've been using BetterWorld Books for several years. And their able to deliver books in good to excellent condition. The prices are great, and they ship out quickly. You can also find DVD's - which are also in good condition. They check them out before sending - therefore you get a Movie you can actually watch! The best part of all - they donate a book each time you order one. So your a part of Paying It Forward as well.
Received correct book within expected timeframe (took about a month to arrive from USA). Was hoping for better condition but was in average/acceptable condition. Would still purchase from BWB in future.
As I live in Japan, far east!, the shipping takes 20-50 days, but it's worth waiting. I bought dozens and they are always in good condition. Only once the book did not arrived, and I got a refund in a day.
I have long relied on Better World Books for finding inexpensive, second-hand versions of YA books for my son, fashion illustration books for my teaching, and crochet/sewing books for my hobbies. My most recent order was books about activism, social justice, anti-racism, and specifically the white church's responsibility to uplift communities of color. 28 books for $100, and all of them were in terrific condition. BWB has EVERYTHING. The shipping can take awhile, but patience is a virtue. :)
Very happy with this website. I have used this website a couple of times so far and will continue to do so. Good quality of used books and decent shipping time. What I love the most is the letter I get from the "books" when are ready to be shipped. I also love the fact that the funds are used spreading literacy across the world. Great job!
It takes some time for me to receive my books, but this site has never dissapointed me when it comes to buying architectural and design second hand books. First of all they are cheap and you don't pay for shipping. The books are always in good condition (usually untouched library books) and the one time I did not receive a book, they refunded my order. The book then showed up a few weeks later.
The only issue is shipping, and I try to plan my purchases according to that. I will always check betterworldbooks first before buying a book I'm searching for.
I was very happy with the speed in which I received my order, with one exception that I only received 7 of 8 books, with no explanation or packing list/statement. I call on Saturday when I got the books and received a call back on Monday stating that it was shipped separately. I got it 3 days later. Just wish someone would have included a note.
I ordered two books shipped from them, hoping to use a promo discount. We I finally received my order only one book was delivered. I assumed that the books were shipped separately as that has been the case before in my dealings with this company. But as days passed with no delivery I checked my order status again and it now showed one of my books as canceled ever though I did not cancel it and had to then request a refund as it was not automatically given even though the book was canceled as I was later told by them due to the book being in poor condition, even though i have received books in pretty rough shape before( ex library books) This is not the first time in the past few months that better world books has gotten my orders screwed up. I will not purchase anything from them until they get things in order. I can not recommend them at this time.
The thing I love the most about purchasing from Better World Books is that each book comes with its own story and history and has passed through the hands and lives of various people. It is a never-ending cycle of stories and lives being bound not just inside the cover of a book.
This was a gift to a dear friend and as I live on the other side of the Ocean, I had to use online solution rather than a local bookstore. I am glad that I made my friend happy in a way that will also make many other people happy -- not 'filthy rich' - but happy to learn to read and think...

You can choose to have your shipment be made carbon neutral, which helps our air, and they support literacy by giving to literacy causes. You can even see the impact your own purchases have made; they show you how many books you helped contribute. A good source for textbooks also, and they buy books back. Service is great. What's not to like?!
Books arrived in a good time frame. Great conditon. Two were in large print which i did not order. I was told they have no control over whether you get the books in regular or large print. Don't like that one bit
I ordered a book from this site for an extremely cheap price, especially given the fact that this was a hardcover book, and it arrived very fast. I look forward to making more purchases through this site and encourage others to as well!
I ordered two used books from BetterWorldBooks and never received them. I contacted them when the books did not arrive by the latest date they were expected and was told to wait another week. I waited two more weeks, still no books. I have asked for them to be replaced but I am not very hopeful. This is the last time I will ever order books from Amazon as they never arrive, they are not replaced and I can't get my money back. It seems to be the standard practicd to blame the carrier.
This is my go to site when I can't find what I am looking for in my local bookstore or library. They almost always have the book or books I am looking for and offer them at a great price. Highly recommend them.

The book was described as in good condition, and was! It was also delivered to schedule as promised on the website. Easy to order and lived up to its promises. My proof of purchase is an email and therefore too difficult for me to add to this review!
