Avoid at all cost

I would have given this compny a zero star if I could. Before I ordered my bed on May 3 I called their customer service to confirm when is their earliest delivery as I can't wait too long as I am pregnant. Their CS told me that there will be an availability on May 7 which is perfect as that won't be a long wait. So I proceeded with the order thinking I will be able to sort out the delivery date quicky. I asked my husband to book a day off as no one will be available to receive our bed if he is not around. Here comes May 7, still no email confirming about my order. Meaning, I still can't book my delivery date with them. I called them to asked what is happening. They say they will chase my order and will call me back that day too. No call or anything that day. So I called them again the next day. They say they will chase it again and will call before 11 am. Waited until 13:00 and still no call back from them. At this point I am beginning to get so frustrated as my husband already booked his off. I brushed it off this time as there is nothing I can do about it. I called them again after waiting for their call they say the earliest they can deliver my bed will be on May 15. Not happy obviously as I made sure I will have the bed in less than a week.I checked with them before I proceed with the order. But again I can't do anything about it but wait. So I asked my husband to book another day off on the 15. Here comes May 15 we got the bed frame but no bolts nuts etc. for us to be able to assemble it. I was furious this point as I was feeling so much pain on my back. I literally begged this people to send the fixtures next day delivery/priority as I cannot sleep where I am sleeping any longer. Guess what they can do? Sent it through post telling me it will be with me 24 to 48 hours. I wasn't happy I was literally crying I just can't stand it anymore. Sending it through post 24-48 hrs that is the best they can do. OK! If that's all you can do. I just agreed as I can't do anything about this again. This was on Wednesday, so I was expecting it to come Friday. Today is May 18,60 hrs after they said it will be with me 24-48 hrs. This is how they treat their customers. All they can tell you is sorry, never ending sorry. Did not even try to send the post next day delivery! I called them again as I was expecting it yesterday. They told me the post office is close and will receive it on Monday. This people thinks their customers are dumb. Royal mail still delivers their parcel even if it is weekend. So, don't tell me they are close during weekend and wont be receiving it on weekend. You won't be having this problem if you atleast delivered it on next day delivery. You have given me so much stress. Please be better next time as you don't know what people are going through. Atleast try your best. I won't be begging you if I am not pregnant and not having a severe back ache. But you just ignored it with your never ending apologies.

AVOID THIS COMPANY and just buy a little bit more expensive beds than saving money but will give you a lot of stress for weeks.

TERRIBLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH I don't normally write reviews but this…
I don't normally write reviews but this company is terrible to deal with. I cancelled an order before it was despatched and they are making me jump through hoops to get a simple refund. Even though I have requested the refund in writing AND spoken to a manager who authorized the refund over the phone, I was then told that someone from their Escalations department would call me back before the end of the day. Surprise surprise... I received no phone call. I called back and spoke to the same manager who advised that I would definitely receive a call back. He assured me that the order will not be despatched and that I would get a refund. Guess what? Still no call after 3 days. Luckily my credit card company will reimburse me but this company is a joke when something goes wrong. The cheap prices are just not worth the aggro. I'd rather pay a little extra for a reliable service with honest staff. If you take this risk like I did, you will regret if you need to return or cancel an order.

Tip for consumers:

Be 100% sure before ordering from this company because their customer service is terrible.

No customer or after sales service whatsoever.

I believe the true test of a company is how it reacts when things go wrong. Using that benchmark and my experience I would avoid this company at all costs. Failed delivery, disinterested manager, rude manager, numerous broken promises all amount to non existent customer service.
After 9 days of waiting for a call back flagged as urgent and promised without fail within 24 hours, I gave up and sent the email detailed below. Surprise, surprise no response as yet.

"I have been given this email address to detail the dreadful experience I have had with an order and the subsequent problems and shockingly poor customer service we have experienced.

I will attempt to detail everything but it is difficult to express in writing just how dreadful this experience has been and how let down and upset we feel.

Its was my sons birthday 18th birthday on 31st jan and his big wish was for his first double bed.

Having found a bed that fit the bill on your website I rang to check it was in stock and also check you could deliver on the day of his birthday, so it would be a surprise for him. I was assured you had stock and delivery on the day was all part of the service. My wife called the following day and placed the order again explaining the exact requirements and all was confirmed as being in place. This was some two weeks ahead of the big day so we sat back and relaxed safe in the knowledge that everything was arranged. On Tuesday 30th Jan we received emails telling us our delivery would be with us after 1pm on the 31st, all was good.

Sadly that was something of a false dawn and things went rapidly downhill from there.

Later on the Tuesday around 3pm my wife was called by a member of your team, Adam I believe, to be told that the bed wasnt coming. He offered 2 'like for like' alternatives and asked my wife to view them and get back to him. Panicking by now, my wife called me and asked me to view the alternatives and get one ordered. Sadly on viewing the so called 'like for like' alternatives it became clear that they were both pine finish when our bed was white. Not exactly 'like for like'!

I called your customer service number and after waiting for a considerable time spoke to a young lady and explained the situation, the fact the alternatives were not suitable and the lengths we had gone to to ensure this order would happen as our sons 18th birthday surprise and that it would appear our sons birthday surprise was about to be ruined. She listened intently and was clearly shocked at what had happened and said she couldnt sort the problem but that she would pass me to her manager who had the authority to sort this out.

I was connected to Adam who told me he was the manager of the aftersales team. My experience with Adam was without doubt the worst experience I have ever had when speaking to a company over the phone. I am told you record your calls, I would suggest you review the call. From the beginning of the call he sounded as if he was annoyed that he was having to speak to me and made no secret of the fact that he felt I was being unreasonable in being so upset at being let down by the company. Across a very long conversation he didnt at any point appear to understand why I was upset or empathise with us and had no grasp of why my son might be upset too. He suggested my only options were to wait for the bed to come in, despite having no idea when this would be, take one of the alternatives, despite them not being suitable or have a refund. I pointed out the flaws in each option and Adam then went into t&c mode. Rather than trying to be creative with a solution and make me feel understood and valued he started quoting terms and conditions. Not exactly what I expected. At one point I asked him how he would feel in my shoes, he didnt want to answer that one. He then asked me 'what do you expect me to do? What would you do?'

I suggested I would do all in my power to get a white bed delivered as per the contract, even if this meant sourcing one from another supplier, I would do everything to fulfill my companies promise to the customer. His response was to tell me and I paraphrase here, 'well thats not going to happen'. He then followed to suggest that my wife was perfectly happy when he spoke to her and suggest I was over reacting. This is my wife who was in tears and too upset to speak to anybody about it. I asked Adam to explain how my bed could go from being confirmed as in stock and reserved for delivery to unavailable and why it was only discovered at 3pm the day before leaving us no time to source a replacement. He told me there was a problem with the bed, in fact with all the beds of that type and it was only discovered when loading them. He also stressed i wasnt the only one affected suggesting this should make me feel better. When i queried how this set of circumstances could occur he then said the lack of stock was actually a human error, when i pointed out that he was changing his story on the hoof he suggested it was me who had got it wrong, im sure the call recording will show me to be correct, so much for 'the customer is always right'. After hitting my head against the brickwall of indifference that was Adam for around 30 minutes I gave up and asked to speak to a more senior person. To be told there wasnt one! I didnt believe this and persisted until Adam said, 'there is the resolutions team, but thats only for when there are problems', I laughed at this point and pointed out that we most certainly 'had a problem'. Reluctantly Adam agreed to pass our case to resolutions and said I would be called within 24 hours.

I waited 8 days with no contact so called yesterday to find out what was going on. I had to detail the situation again and the very apologetic representative said she could totally understand how let down I felt and that she couldnt understand how any of this could have happened. She promised me a call back that same day, without fail.

Here I am a day later with still no call.

This whole experience has been dreadful. You originally got it very wrong and badly impacted upon a very important family occasion. The service since that point has compounded the original problem and frankly multiplied it massively through a liturgy of disinterest and false promises.

I believe mistakes happen and that a company is judged on how it responds to mistakes. Sadly your companies response leaves a great deal to be desired.

I would still like to speak to somebody about this and I very much welcome your observations and suggestions for a resolution to this dreadful situation."

Ordered a £100 pounds mattress as I was short on money at the time of the order and needed a mattress delivered ASAP. The mattress online looked brilliant for the price they charged and it said it contained both springs and and foam.

Now I understand that the description says that 'colour and stitching might differ' and I would've been okay with the mattress being of a different color and/or having different markings on top of it, but this is certainly NOT what I've ordered. It's a springs-only mattress, thinner than the one ordered and of an entirely different build.

I've tried to ask for a refund, but they've said that I've got the right product and it just has different colors and stitching. Apparently they use the 'different colours and stitching' to basically say 'it's the same model' excuse whenever they deliver something else.

James, the agent to whom I spoke about the issue, said that he apologizes and one of the offers he made me is a £10 refund and 10% discount for a future order, which means he agreed with me that it was a missell and/or they've delivered the wrong item. When I've asked for a full refund in exchange for the mattress, he started saying that I've got the correct mattress and therefore will charge me £50 for the transport of the product, which is half of it's price!

It's been (yes, I've double checked) almost 30 hours since I've told James that I feel scammed for not being able to get my money back for a product I didn't order and he is still yet to reply to me.

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS!

RUBBISH, UNPROFESSIONALISM AT ITS FINEST! DO NOT SHOP HERE

I am utterly disgusted by the level of service I have received from Beds.co.uk.

I placed an order on Cyber Monday (27th November) for an Aimee Day Bed hoping to receive it by the end of that week. Instead, I received a normal type single bed on Thursday 30th November. To add, I was given a delivery time of between 10-5pm and the delivery man has the audacity to call me in a rude manner just before delivering the bed 45mins after the 5pm window, I was initially given. Not only was the wrong bed delivered, but it was also delivered late. What kind of disservice is this?

As this was the wrong order, I called customer service for an exchange. On calling customer service, I received again a poor level of service from Ray, who gave a nonchalant approach to resolving the situation and was very unhelpful and reluctant to put me through to a manager. He was very unapologetic and RUDE. It took me calling customer service 3 times and spending 1 hour combined to get an exchange arranged. Once an exchange was in place, and the new bed was delivered, it was again the wrong bed, this time the Pandora Day Bed was delivered and not the Aimee Day Bed. I spoke to Charlotte who reassured me that she was going to look into this case and get the situation resolved, I have not heard from Charlotte since Dec 6th and spending 34 mins on the phone to her. She promised that a full refund will be given and also compensation. I am still waiting for the latter.

I have since spoken to Sophie/ Amy who have both not really solved the situation per say and have said they will call/ pass the message onto Charlotte/Sophie and I am yet to hear from a senior manager about the rubbish service I have received.

It's such a shame that this has happened because I genuinely need a bed and have needed it since I placed the order, and have been without a bed for that duration of time too. But its actually sad to know that there are companies like yours who actually don't even give a damn about the aftersales care of your customers. I used to work in home furnishings and know how the process works and this is by far unacceptable. Its been nearly 3 weeks since I place this order to no avail of a bed!

DO NOT PURCHASE A BED FROM HERE. THEY ARE INCOMPETENT AT GETTING ORDERS RIGHT AND DO NOT PUT THE CUSTOMERS FIRST OR SYMPATHISE WITH THE CUSTOMERS.

Please beware dealing with this company!
As I expected this happened! There are many people already in the same situation.

Please beware before you buy anything from this seller!

I will give you what what just happen to me.
I bought a foam mattress from this seller 2 weeks ago now.
I searched a memory foam mattress through many site to find good quality and price and Finally found this site.

It was really good. Memory foam mattress combination visco and reflex for £65. Actually unbelievable price! If their description right, it cannot be £65. I only trust this price because they described the original price was £265 and most importantly clearly saying secure "paypal payment"
(I'm also disappointed with paypal this time - another tip, paypal does not really protect you at all)

Anyway when I got the mattress, it wasn't what I ordered at all.
They just sent me a chunk of sponge without any label (I think It could be cheap stuff! - please let me know is that legal that selling stuff doesn't even have any tag showing where it made from)

It supposed to be having 2 different materials most importantly memory foam part! But just big chunk of sponge.

If you buy it from amazon or Ebay, you can buy this £50 non-sale price with tag showing at least where it is came from and free delivery. How is it originally over £200? I smell something fish with this company.
(most Importantly I would never buy it! I wanted memory foam!)

I contacted with phone >> no answer for half an hour few times.
Contact by website not really answer at all,
Finally direct Email >> not properly answer they asked me "sending them a picture and delivery address" twice! Then ignoring every thing just saying it is the one I should have.

Since I send them 3 reason why it is not correct one, they didn't answer me back. (but Funny thing is they looking at this review and reported! Lol)

1. Memory foam made out of polyurethane but it is not, it is polypropylene.( if it is possible, then this company should have some prize for inventing new material)
2. Combine meaning not one chunk of sponge, should have 2 layers of material. The same name on the internet show different thing
And also they even have a picture on the website have different layer!

Just same answer over over. So I asked to paypal. I thought final protection or something.
But when it goes to paypal even worse!
Because paypal did not even care about your situation. The most easy option giving you a full refund.

Oh! Good~ nono! You have to pay the return cost which is almost same as what you payed. (in my case 50 pound)

I'm pretty sure that many people in my situation won't return it cause of that. (if you return it you spend 50 pound for nothing)

What a brilliant idea! This is possible way how they selling this things away
I can see many of them suffering like me with this company.

Please beware before you pay for this company.
I will do my best spreading this fact to let people know what they trying to do. At least I don't want to see this kind of company running with no problem.
I think they should have some difficulty, otherwise many really good private sellers see the damages cause of this

If I could give this company NO STARS at all theyd get that! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!

I oderded a bed, the Maureen brand. The day it was delivered I received the Aiden bed. I rang the delivery company as I thought theyd simply just brought in the wrong bed but my name was on the label so they told me to ring the office of beds.co.uk which I did. Itcrang and rang so I choose the chat option online instead. They told me they dont deal with it so to keep ringing. I spoke to an advisor who told me Id have to wait for an available slot! As the bed was the same price I agreed to keep it as I was without a bed and would have nowhere to sleep.

We assembled the bed and everything was there expect for the bronze bars and bronze fittings. Another phone call and long waits! I gave up! The bed looked fine without them for now so decided Id ring at a quieter time. The bars and bronze things were cosmetic, in other words to make the headboard look pretty and nothing to do with the structure. I called back anyway and they said anything missing can be posted out. Ok!

The first night my partner was working away so I slept in the bed alone. I am 5ft 1 and weight 8.6 stone. So Im what youd call petite! I was woken during the night by a bang, 5 if the slats on the opposite side of where I sleep were on the floor! Just fallen out. Next day rang and yet again long wait. This time I was told theyd deliver slats. I explained I had put them back in and they had fallen out so could I just exchange the bed as it was clearly faulty. I was told to provide photographic evidence of the fault.

Got home, took photos, partner home from business trip. We go to bed and wake up in night as the bed was collapsing. It literally cane apart beneath is. The internal legs buckled, the slats fell over and we were on the floor. My partner who suffers with his back was in pain from the impact and the shock of moving so fast as we didnt know what was happening at first.

I telephoned again the next morning, this time I told them I dont want an exchange, I want a refund! I was told to send photos again. I emailed the photos stating my request for a refund. James replied asking if I had original packaging. I explained I didnt but would ensure it would be packed to a high standard. He replied stating no original package, no refund. I then get an email off Julie who has examined my photos and stated that the bed collapsed because I have wooden floor and I should have used slip mats as the fraction made it collapse! Utterly ridiculous but ironic as I had slip mats on there so I sent a picture of a close up of the feet to clearly show the slip pads! I also sent Julie details of her works terms and conditions on refunds

3. Returns and Exchanges

3.1 You have a 14 day money back no-quibble return from the day you receive the goods. However some provisions apply

3. 1. 1 The goods must be in their original packaging or suitable packaging (suitable packaging includes all parts of the item packaged)

3. 1. 2 Any item that is already assembled cannot be returned unless the item is defective or incorrect, items must be returned unused.

3.2 Defective or incorrect item - if the item is defective or incorrect we will need to verify this, please understand that liability is on you to provide clear images before arranging a return or exchange. You will be required to provide images.

As you can see you dont need the original packaging! No quibble! Yeah right! Several emails later, loads of photos and no response yesterday I telephoned again today and was told Julie is off but will ring me tomorrow! She also told me if a refund is agreed if that I wont get it until they receive the bed! So that means nothing to sleep on and a few days for the money to clear if I get a refund. In the meantime we have no bed to sleep in, no money to buy a new one as beds.co.uk have my money!

I have contacted PayPal to raise a case and trading standards. I will also post this review on every review site and social media I can find! The reviews on other sites are very poor! Check them all out before you end up in my position!

(ISSUE NOW RESOLVED - See update.) Initially unsatisfactory. Now completely reolved!

UPDATE: 20 March 2017

After my last review left re: Beds.co.uk, they finally within 20 minutes of putting the review online, got back to me.

I can now happily say that they arranged a speedy re-deliver of the correct bed, which I have now received.

This was followed-up by more calls from management apologising and checking I have received my bed.

The issue has thankfully now been resolved in a speedy way and further action will be taken to investigate why this has happened and to prevent something similar from happening again in future to other customers.

It's a shame it took my review to have this issue resolved, but hopefully now this will never happen again and I thank them for this speedy resolution, which is greatly appreciated.

Oct 2016:
I ordered a grey, ottoman double bed in Oct 2016. The bed arrived, but was pink, not an ottoman and a super king!

I rearranged for delivery after being on hold to the company for 28mins.

November 2016:
The grey ottoman arrived. I'm not familiar with FEET so assumed it was the right bed.

We put the bed together (which took about 1 hour to do only to realise once we had the mattress on that it was a KING bed.

25mins on hold I finally managed to get a collection and redelivery arranged... for JAN 2017!
WE had to however take the bed apart again and try and fit it back into the boxes.

13 Jan 2017.
I called them to double check and ensure the collection and delivery of the DOUBLE bed is arriving the next day and was assured it is.

14 Jan 2017
Waited at home all day from 7am-7pm. No bed. No collection.

16 Jan
Called them 5x.
Bed was not delivered as is now out of stock until March so they decided not to collect the other bed either.

21 Jan.
Bed collected 4pm. Waited at home all day.

I also asked for a refund and was told it will take place in a few days.

9 March 2017.
I called them after realising I have still not received my refund.
They said they have a delivery scheduled for me for 18 March, hence no refund. I wasn't even aware of that!
I decided to wait for delivery. Asked them to double check that a DOUBLE bed will be delivered to me.
