I bought 2 green iguanas a female and a male when they came in the mail one was alive and the other one was tangled up in the paper and I picked it up and it was completely dead there was no way it was coming back to life I even did CPR cause I'm a vet but it was guaranteed to be alive and it was dead now I got one can y'all send me another one that is alive they are not cheap and I spent good money on 2 and got one I love all animals and it broke my heart when it was dead I made a little funeral for it I sent pictures of the dead one and email it to y'all I don't know what else to do... The green iguana that is still alive is happy and healthy
Do not buy from them! We bought a monitor lizard. It came dehydrated, skinny, underweight, lethargic. Did not eat. Vomited. It has a likely kidney infection (from blood test results). Needs medical attention, vet assistance multiple times a week and intensive long treatment. Expectations are uncertain. They sell sick animals for hundreds of dollars and don't care at all.
Purchased a salamander about 2 weeks ago. Was put in the smallest container possible so he had to completely curled up. Stressed, and I'm assuming wild caught because he hasn't eat yet and has only just starting to come out of hiding. His skin was sluffing off in the container, so either mid molt or Stressed. I will just get animals from elsewhere. They're higher priced here anyway.
The babies arrived alive & healthy with a heat pad & cryopak to keep them warm. Very active…my dogs are a little freaked out about these things moving around in the tank. Thank you for your help with everything & sending me 2 great bearded dragons
I recently purchased a tarantula from these people and it was much in bad shape and pretty much dead on arrival. I signed for the animal and at no time was the animal left outside.
They refuse to honor any live guarantee agreement. They will make you jump through lots of hoops, taking pictures, writing dates on pieces of paper etc. with the hopes you will just give up. They keep your money and will not any kind of refund. They actually charged my credit card twice. DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE!

I ordered a tortoise from them. Within two days she was dead. I was asking for a refund or a new animal but when she arrived she was covered in feces and urine and the box was soiled so I threw it away... needless to say they made an easy 180 dollars that they refused to refund.

I ordered a tiger salamander on a Monday, and paid extra for overnight shipping, it got delayed so many times, until it's order date was now Saturday, then on Saturday, I found out they gave me the wrong shipping number, and the salamander hadn't even STARTED to be delivered yet! But the people who run the site apologized, and my salamander is fully healthy, and everything is great
Hi, to everyone who is iffy or concerned don't be, I recommend buying from them, today I received my beautiful baby girl she's a columbian red tail and she's happy and very friendly just shy at first and she's already doing really well in her new environment and a bonus she's super healthy looking and she is a female so they did sex her properly so please don't be hesitant buy from here!
We ordered a Rainbow Jackson, he came in with no hydration in his shipping container. He was very weak and dehydrated. Over the last 20 days his health only declined and was too weak to make it. He died and we are seeking a full refund because they falsely promote great reviews and great reptiles. This place sucks bad and they have really unhealthy animals.
Literally the worst experience with communications. Their online contact form has a message above the form saying it's malfunctioning. But the form still takes input. They were "out of the office" when I contacted them via email about an issue and didn't hear anything for 2 days until they came back and informed me they were out of the office. By then I had given up on them. They then threw their site terms at me and there was nothing else I could do. Wasted time, wasted money. Ugh.
We ordered a yellow bellied slider turtle on Thursday, remember that. Ok so fast forward its monday and its supposed to be here tomorrow but we live in Georgia so i will not be so harsh the are in California and that's pretty far away. Ive read good and bad reviews and im scared bc its mostly bad. I hope he makes it alive
My chameleon showed up and she wouldnt eat wouldnt drink. About an hour after unboxing her she threw up a parasite. Not even 6 hours of getting her she was dead. $#*! this company absolutely disgusting
I spent over $300 on a snake, I paid the shipping, then when my snake didn't arrive, I was eventually told there would be a 500-dollar fee for insurance to ship the snake. I double-checked the website. This is not stated anywhere! Now they refuse to refund my money for the order!
First off I ordered 2 water dragons. When I received the box there was only 1 water dragon in the box. The water dragon was also sick and was injured. When I contacted them they sent out 2 water dragons and well 2 ended up arriving but they were also sick as well. Well now all 3 of them have passed away within a couple weeks of me having them. I contacted them to let them know that all 3 of them have died. They will not do anything about it since I do not have a picture of all 3 of them together dead. When I have a picture of all 3 of them just not in the same picture since they did not die at the same time. As is I contacted them when the first dragon died and they never did email me back and then a couple days later the other 2 passed away. This would not be such a big deal for me if I did not spend $150 for the lizards to die. I will never use these guys again. I will go through someone else.

I bought a sandfish skink last week it came in horrible health. Has some gunk on its eye and will not eat! Don't waste your money or time on this site.
DO NOT ORDER *******@backwaterreptiles I ordered my husband a Pac-Man frog for his birthday he cam thin and shipped like trash we had him for less then a month and he died I have never had an animal come me in such $#*!ty condition and die that soon after, we rescue reptiles and this is $#*!ing unreal I am so so so beyond disgusted at there treatment to there animals I have ready many many more review of people receiving dead or sick animals that have passed soon after receiving them, I am $#*!ing pissed, these are $#*!ing life's that you idiots are playing with $#*! *******@backwaterreptiles I hope you incompetent $#*!s get shut down. I am not the first and not the last to have this happen and it's $#*!ing sad.
I purchased a Cane Toad from BackWaterReptiles. I ended up spending a little over $80 in total for the whole thing including the shipping fee. Fortunately, The UPS delivery was on time. Unfortunately, no one was home to sign it. We instructed UPS to leave the reptile at a facility for pickup that same day. I picked it up from my local UPS location. I unboxed the package only to find a dead Cane Toad. I was very upset and contacted BackWaterReptiles. I sent them all the proof they asked for of the dead reptile. I asked for a refund or a replacement. They offered a discount. That's right, a discount for another Cane Toad. Not only that, they also explained how it will only get delivered to a UPS Facility for costumer pickup. I found this to be unfair and explained to them why it was unfair. They ignored my concerns and only allowed a discount. The Cane Toad was packaged into a small cramped bag with no space or heater/cooler. DO NOT ORDER!

Answer: Scam I ordered chickens from other companies and they ship live animals to my PO box this company claims that live animals cannot be shipped to a PO box the mail department USPS offices will call and contact the post box owner to notify them that they have live animals there for them to pick up and they have a certain amount of time approximately 4 hours to pick up so you schedule your day of your shipping arrival in order to get it picked up I have ordered numerous chickens ducks turkeys quail I've even ordered lizards and spiders from other companies and I've always had them shipped to my PO box in this company refuses to or at least that's their excuse and then when you ask for your money back at least stop talking to you and don't give you your money
