Why would a business of this dize be running up prices? Your guess is as good as mine. But I've been to the warehouse and in the office during this auction. And the lady and guy running day to day services were laughing and drinking alcohol while making fun of the bidders. I questioned the office about this and was told my acct was flagged so now I can't let them robb me. So be ware of (a&w surplus auction).they will sell you broken merch even cover up old stock with un-sellable items when you buy a pallet. Buyer beware!

It's all trash. They use stock photos & wording to fool the buyer. They're rude and con artists. Stay far away from this place!

I have to tell you. This has to be the worst auction in the world. I mean it should say we are selling you stuff other people don't want. Most of the items are broken And the rest of the stuff is buried boxes of junk... Don't buy anything from a&w,online auction!

I purchase a lot of items from this company. I recently made a purchase on one of their auctions and noticed an item that I did NOT bid on on my final invoice the next morning. I emailed at 7:45 am to get it rectified asap and never received a response. Instead, I got an email with my payment confirmation in which I immediately called to make sure my email was received (I've emailed in the past and have never received any responses). The response I received from Ann (apparently the manager/owner) was that my email would be addressed when she got to it. I received a response over an hour after my phone call that only said that the bid was placed live. It did not address any other information or if this issue would or would not be rectified. So, I called back again to get clarification. In which I explained again that I purchase from them regularly and understand how their policies work, but that I truly did not make that bid and asked if the item could be removed. I was met with hostility, unprofessionalism and rude demeanor. I was ultimately told to SHUT UP and then hung up on and my subsequent calls were dropped. I find that type of behavior to be incredibly insulting, unstable and disturbing from someone in a position of authority and ownership. I called from a different phone and miraculously had my call answered. When I explained the situation a third time the other lady told me I would have to consign the mattress. As a customer who has spent over $9k with this company in the last year, I understand their policies and respect them, BUT I DID NOT BID ON THAT ITEM. It's essentially fraud. I have subsequently been denied access to my online account with them which I also feel is highly unethical! I will never purchase another item from this unethical, unprofessional and repugnant company and office staff for the way I was treated and urge others not to as well.

Most the items you bid do not work, or have been damaged. I was sold an External drive, and when i received it didnt even work. I contacted them only to run into an angry grumpy old man. Poor customer service. They are quick to charge you, but deliver poor products. They post crappy photos of their products, but want you to see them in person. Thats what i did, what i thought was a bag of 40lb dog food, was only 30lbs. I was sold a product that was not 40lbs. I even went in to see it on wednesday, lol poor service... I bought some detergent, it was listed as something ounces, and it was half full.
Stay away, and be careful of their terms of agreement you'll get screwed over. With them taking a cut out of your purchase and plus taxes, its not worth the savings.

Regarding A & W Surplus and Auction Company: This company is something else. They hold auctions on Proxibid, show a photo of the item you are suppose to be bidding on, but that isn't the item they send you. All three items that I was suppose to received were not what they claimed they were. Instead, you get a broken version, incomplete version, smelly, dirty, dead insects, missing parts, broken parts, and not the items they showed in the auction photographs. Then, when they bill you, they do it in 2 separate billings; one thru Proxibid and the other thru PayPal. They do this so that if you decide to dispute the charge thru PayPal, they
Escalate it to a claim and since the dispute is regarding the quality or since you did receive something from them, PayPal automatically rules in their favor since it was not an Ebay auction. It's a way to circumvent the system to their advantage. I have published a blog that shows the emails sent from them to me and vice versa as well as photos showing what I was suppose to be bidding on and what I received instead. Also, as far as they are concerned, the matter is closed. As far as I'm concerned, this is just the beginning. I am posting this to each and every place I can find and reporting it to each and every agency I can find. A scam is a scam. UPDATE: I have been speaking with a representative with Proxibid. She said that her company was very sorry about this incident and wanted to make amends. They have offered to refund all of my expenses in this transaction and an sincere apology. They understood my frustration and dissatisfaction. This came from Proxibid, not A & W Surplus. A & W Surplus has yet to do anything about this and I strongly suspect they won't. Crooked is as crooked does. I will continue to do business with Proxibid, but I would advise anyone and everyone not to do business with A & W Surplus and Auctions.
