“At&t with shady business practices”

Be careful with at&t it is not below to do under handed and shady business practices. They don't care for the time they waste. They take all your information down send out a sim card that can't be activated. Most there agents are rude as hell. Think twice before u try to do business they are crooks. I have recordings, email, the package they sent out, and "sim card" in my Possession. The phone below is the numbers for At&t. I was told they could do a call back. I declined 5 mins the customer service agent just hung up on me.

I finally sat down ate looked at my bill, discovered I was being charged installment for phones I bought over to at&t, when I asked them about it they said they sent me 2 phones which I never received and there is nothing I can do about it, the supervisor kept saying "on our end" when I asked to speak to someone who can better help me, he was rude and asked if I'd rather ve put on hold in que, which I said yes if it'll help me. He put me on hold then dropped my call. Someone need to explain how I'm paying an installment fee for my own phones.

I called AT&T and complained about my bill and although I did get a bill for $106 the other day the girl I spoke with claims that she deleted the balance. I was very surprised that she deleted it but they did try to charge me and were probably hoping I wouldn't complain about a $106 bill for service that was never activated. I almost just paid it because I had this bad feeling that the entire process was going to raise my blood pressure and ruin my week but glad I did call.

I recently bought a Sim card for an AT&T Hotspot device that I bought from another Internet company. I was told that it would be $50 a month. When I received the SIM card, it wouldn't work in my device so I called them and canceled the service. Today I received a bill for $106 for service from June 21,2022 through June 23,2022. The charges include $60 for a wireless phone and $30 for an activation fee plus taxes, etc. I did not buy a phone. I got a Sim card which was never activated. It would not work. I made the mistake of doing business with this fraudulent company years and years ago and have had to deal with their deceitful and dishonest practices in the past so it was really stupid of me to try to buy a Sim card from them. I would recommend Verizon over AT&T any day. They don't play these deceitful, unethical games, trying to hustle every penny out of their customers. My phone service is through Verizon now and I recently bought unlimited home internet service with them with no early termination fees or other janky ploys. AT&T's site states that they have a 4.7/5 star review which is laughable and has to be another one of their lies.

AT&T will ALWAYS try to find a way to steal from you.

Overall it's a good service with calling and service everywhere. I am giving only 3 stars because of the fact that if we want to upgrade our phones we either have to pay for a new phone outright or we have to sign another two year agreement and our monthly plan amount goes up because we loose discounts that we currently have.

When I decided to give AT&T TV and Internet a try I was offered rebates if I place an online order. The rebate was for $250 on a debit card. After I placed my order AT&T only issued a $100 rebate. AT&T did a switch and bait. That's not a good way to keep customers. We will tell our friends and family not to trust you.

I figured initially paying a pretty decent premium for standard phone service and high data I would be ok with the cost because I would have really good service and really good customer care, respectful treatment as an honorable and loyal client, I
Would ike I was valued to them and this is absolutely not the case I have been belittled I have been narcissistically gaslighted I have been like disrespected I have been intimidated I've been lied to and and have had early 1400 dollars strong arm stolen from my bank account by these rotten, thieving, liars

When it works it works well. When it doesn't work (which is often) it's chaos. We have been experiencing an outage (no internet connectivity or television service for three days and no solution in sight). I have been calling AT&T for three straight days. Enduring the inane automated bots is not just insulting but accomplishes nothing. Occasionally I get connected with a human being who is virtually clueless and who tries to sell me additional phone lines. The last guy I got was in the billing department. He promised to connect me with UVERSE technicians and switched my call to that department. I sat on the line for 42 minutes and then hung up. I should mention that the guy I was connected to asked me to "stay on the line" to answer a few questions about his service and urged me to give him an "excellent" review. When things don't work, ATT is the worst. Question: Why would I waste my time writing a false review which in most cases is NOT against the law? ATT has little regard for its customers.

Tip for consumers:
Why they lie.

Bunch of criminals working at the AT&T warehouse. I sent back my trade in phone, a Note 10 in mint condition, and months after I never see the credit on my bill, they tell me they didn't receive my phone, instead the received some old flip phone. And now I lose on $800. Case #CM*******_******* was created and final outcome was that I lose on on $800 because AT&T has criminals working in their warehouse

At@t has great service as far as never with out service any where. Customer Service in the store...lack of sharing the entire details. My last purchase kept me in the store for hours with returning 3 times due to lack of communication. The gal in the store Desiree in the Victor location is kind and seems to have a great knowledge base she tried very hard to be helpful and could not have been nicer.
Where they lack is sharing with the customers what they need to do resulting in many trips to the store. I have multiple phones on my plan and I purchased three new phones right before Christmas two to give as presents and they shared I had to return the old phones...not telling me they needed to be reset. When returning the phones one my grandsons he had changed his email so they could not reset the phone. They were not in stock on one of the phones originally purchased...resulting in another trip to the store...Trying to prove I was my self though I knew my pass code and had ID was a nightmare and quite frankly rediculous. I have been with AT&T for over ten years had I known what this purchase would mean regarding time I would have most likely gone with another carrier. I pay 300.00 monthly for 5 phones.
Most of this is lack of appropriate training, a lack of consideration, and AT&T in general lacking in true customer service.
When sharing my experience with AT&T customer service they had a lack of understanding what or why I was even calling them for...again poor customer service and he could give me a 10 dollar credit. Honestly lets break this down I have pd over 30,000 for phone service in ten years... I will not be renewing in 3 years as my commitment to them means zero. Ot ten dollars...please get the details and know that they could care less about your experience!

AT&T has been difficult in the sense that the website and general customer service automated system is not user friendly. I had an unfortunate customer service experience recently that was completely rectified by two agents of whom I spoke to today. Henry with AT&T internet customer service and May with AT&T Direct TV customer service. They were BEYOND ACCOMMODATING and so incredibly attentive and kind. These two agents are the reason I am happy with my AT&T service and they deserve to be recognized. Thank you Henry and May for your excellent customer service! You rocked it!

Happy with the installation service, and the tech who took down my details corrected a whole bunch of problems created by the salesperson at the POS. I'm still having to contact their fraud service (recommended by the tech) and that's been a chore since the number they gave me is either not in service or I get put on hold (nothing but dead air) and I have a very limited cell data plan (NOT AT&T) and can't afford to hang on for 45 minutes for them to get to me.

In June I went to my local AT&T store to see if we could save money switching from Sprint. My husband has AML leukemia and we are in a tight spot financially because of his illness so we needed to cut our bills as much as possible. I was given a written quote on what to expect for our monthly bill. Which was less then I had been paying at sprint so we decided to switch and trade in and port our numbers over to AT&T. We traded in our phones that were accepted by the store, have receipts stating the acceptable conditions of our phones. They said it will take 2-3 bill cycles to see the credits to my acct. So as of September's bill... still no credit so I called customer service. Was given the run around and was tied up on the phone for almost 2 hours between all the depts. Finally I got to speak to a rep in the trade in dept (Who was rude and sarcastic) that stated that the my phones were rejected because of the conditions. Stating they would not work, and were basically destroyed. THOSE PHONES WERE USED UNTIL THE MINUTE I TRADED THEM IN and protected by cases, so I don't know what happened to them in between the time I surrendered them for trade in till then. So I was told by the trade in dept there was nothing I could do. I went back to the store last Tuesday and was told they would look into my problem. It is now Saturday and I have called them several times with no call back. Today I spoke on the phone to a rep in the conflict resolution dept. who flat out told me that in the eyes of AT&T there is NO CONFLICT... even though I did not and will not receive my trade in allowance and basically too bad for me and they don't care that I have a receipt. He actually tried to sell me another line to add on. He was heartless and obviously I was bothering him by making him talk to me and told me that me calling all the time will get me nowhere. Didn't care at all what has happened to me and that I had written proof from their store. This situation has caused my family a great financial burden at a time we are at our lowest. They do not care about their customers. The man I originally dealt with at my local store and one representative I spoke with on my 2 hour phone fiasco were kind and truly tried to help but all the others were of no help what so ever and I had to plead to talk to a manager.
SO DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM AT&T

AT&T without any prior warning increased the Bill. Called AT&T and asked them why you breached the contract, 6 months short from the expiration date. They said we have the right to increase the bill in an active contract, but you have no right to terminate the contract without paying the early termination fee. Are there rules? There are no rules. Looks like we have infinitely large freedom, but infinitely small rights if not able to hire a good lawyer. Lesson learned.
First – never use Auto-Pay to avoid duplicate, or fraudulent billing for fabricated fees, during the service and after canceling the service.
Second – Avoid the landline phone from the bundle. Using magic jack I pay only $3 a month compared with $40 a month with AT&T. Using a good noise filter, with a 3 ft short phone line for the main phone set, connected 3 wireless phones around my home I have a better sound quality than with AT&T.
Third – If you are not far from TV broadcasting antenna, use an indoor antenna. I am able to receive 52 crisp channels with an indoor antenna.
Forth – With chromacast and a designated $100 laptop, you can stream more than with AT&T.

I changed plans on the website. I took a picture of the plan details. The price and the promotions. Then I was overcharged by $40. I called several representatives. I sent an email to ATT elite care with the picture of the plan and the agreed price. The ATT representative at elite care stated she could not open the pictures I sent her. "They are to big for our system" I dont believe ATT cant open a picture. And she refused to honor the price. With out my bjc fan club discount the price was suppost to be $265 for 8 lines. Seven phones and one tablet were included. $35 a phone and $20 for the tablet. I added one phone that should have increased the plan $35. Total $290. Then I added my bjc fan discount that is $5 off on each phone. That should bring it down to $250 a month. I am being charged $300 a month My phone, wireless and internet with the price of the insurance and phone installment payments is about $650 a month. It's really not the $40 It's the point that again ATT promised a price and did not follow through.
Last year I signed up for internet. ATT said I would get a $30 discount because I had wireless. Internet and uverse along with automatic payments. I never got that discount I called the representative and i emailed ATT elite care. I never got that discount.
These are not the only times att has not followed through. I cant believe I pay them all thst money every month and this company has such poor bussiness practice

I signed up to combine my wireless bill with my Directv bill around March 2016. The reason I combined my bill was because of the $10 off my bill each month promotion. When I called to combine the bills, I asked how long the promotion would last and I was told I would receive the $10 off as long as I maintain both service. Well this past January the $10 disappear from my bill. I call customer service and explain that my bill had change. The customer service representative issued me a $10 credit and he made me think it was fixed. When I got my February bill the $10 combine bill discount still was not on my bill. So I called customer service. The first call I was on hold for at least an half an hour before I talked to someone. When I finally talked to someone I explained what was going on. I had to be put on hold few times. After 56 minutes, I was disconnected. So I called back. After another 20 minutes or more on hold, I finally got to talk to someone. I explained that I got disconnected and had to go through explaining why I called to begin with. After 39 minutes into the call I was disconnected. America's most reliable network at it's best! Totally flustered and frustrated, I called a third time. This time I got a recorded message that said 'my approximate wait time was 1 minute'. Wrong! It was another 20 minutes or more. When I finally got to talk to someone, I told them I wanted to talk to a supervisor. After being on the phone for 25 minutes, I got a call from a number I didn't recognize. The AT&T Protect app said the call was from a telemarketer. I ignored it the first time. But I got a another call a minute later. I was on hold with the customer service representative, so I answered the incoming call. It was an AT&T supervisor calling me back from one of my previous calls. I told him I was on hold with a customer service representative and ask if he could hold so I could end my call with her. So I ended the call with the call with the customer rep and continued my discussion with the supervisor.
Here is a summary of what I was told over all the calls I had made. First, I was told that because I enrolled in April of 2018, the offer was only good for 12 months. Well that was wrong in two ways. First, I enrolled in or around March of 2016. Fortunately for me, I still get paper statement, so I had proof. Second, If I did enroll in April of 2018 and had 12 months then I should still be getting the discount through April of 2019. After I got them to admit that I did sign up in 2016, then I was told it was a 24 month promotion. Once again that had to be wrong, because then the $10 discount should have ended in March 2018. After all of that I was not able to get the $10 combine bill reinstated. I did get another $10 credit.
There is really no reason to keep my bills combined anymore. I'm just afraid that I might create another nightmare if I try to uncombined them. I'm posting this in hopes of seeing if anyone else has had a similar problem with combine billing or maybe give others a warning if they are looking to combine their bill.
After hearing from someone from AT&T, this issue has never been resolved. No one knows why this happened. There is speculation that the offer wasn't the correct offer that I applied for. I mention that I had moved and wondered if that had caused me to lose the offer but I haven't been giving an answer to that either. It is really amazing that AT&T, as big as it is, can't solve a simple billing issue. If the offer had expired, then I should have been given that answer. If the offer didn't expire and the problem was a glitch, then it should have been as simple as reinstating the $10 a month credit. The last I heard anything was April 9.

While our internet connection is generally strong... it took forever to setup the both times we went with AT&T. Their phone support is generally unhelpful and we had to jump through way too many hoops to get what we were told we were paying for in the first place. Is google fiber here yet?

So I just got my first iphone in Jan 2017. Set up with AT@T for their gophone plan. Pretty good deal, and so far no issues with coverage.
But.
I was set up right from day one with AUTOPAY. Gave them my credit card, was told I'd actually get a 5.00 a month discount for doing autopay. Great.

SO today I got a rather scary text saying if I don't make a payment by. My phone would be cut off. Now everyone I know KNOWS I don't do texts. But I texted back that I was on auto pay.
Only to have that bounce because they don't receive texts. Swell. They send them to me ok but I can't reply?
So off to their site I go. Contact us. as so often happens now, brings up a page of services I have to pick from. Found gophone, called, and of course get the typical voice mail from hell autobot. Now this is NOT something a pre programed thing can fix. I need a HUMAN. GOOD LUCK! Every term I could think of, "agent, customer service, person, human, BRAIN," only sent it around again with "so I may better direct your call do you want"
MY GOD WHY can't a company the size of AT@T HIRE HUMANS to pick up the PHONE! "How may I direct your call." How frigging long does that take?
I really miss that.
When nothing, (including at this point a slew of cuss words) got me past the autobot I started blabbering gibberish. FINALLY got the "I'm sorry I can't understand you let me connect you." OH HALLELUJAH!
And I was connected directly TO INDIA!

Nice girl, but could barely understand me. Seriously. LONG story but finally I got it across, if I'm on AUTO PAY WHY do I need a text. Everything will be charged monthly, I can see it on my account, stop texting. Once she got past MIS pronouncing my name, even after I corrected her, and figured out what I wanted, and apologized about a dozen times for my inconvenience. (Yea right.) Finally she put me on hold, then came back with no more texts ok? Good. Thank you. Have a nice day and I hung up.
Thought I was done but no.

Some time later, and I'm sitting right next to the phone. I got a missed call alert. Phone never rang. Some 800 number so thinking this is most likely some spam I googled the number. Guess who. AT@T.

New to using smart phones, I just wasted some time fiddling with it to be sure I actually have it set to ring. And I do. And a little while later it did ring. Same 800 number. This time I got a guy directly from INDIA who also could barely speak OR understand English.
He asked if I had stop getting texts. Now mind you, it's been like one hour since all this started. Only ever had the ONE text and hopefully the last. So I told him that. And of course he didn't understand. Asked me again if I got any contacts from AT@T. I then said well yea, my phone suddenly sent a missed call alert but never rang and it was your number. So this guy goes off on a long explanation on why I can not call their 800 number. How it does not accept incoming calls.
TWICE I had to explain to this nit wit I DID NOT CALL. YOU CALLED ME!
Then got the multitude of apologies again for my inconvenience all of which I could barely understand. GEES!
I finally lost it with him. Shouted "doesn't AT@T hire ANYONE who actually speaks ENGLISH?"
Yea I know, not really this kids fault. But still. A company who is all about COMMUNICATION should do better. I just hope this was a one time thing and I don't have to fight with them every month like I did with boost.
(believe it or not, their customer service is even worse.)

Customer since 1996 therefore 19 years and they have still major issues.
Coverage not well cared and customer services... well, sometimes is good and. Sometimes it sucks. Perhaps time to switch to a different and try a competitor as my wife as Verizion and she is happy with it.
