The sales man told me I was going to pay a certain amount of money and that was a lie. They said I was going to pay $250 monthly but first bill came to $500 they lie to you to get your money and don't care how hard you work for it! Don't fall for their lies! I am now with cricket and pay $125 for my services for 5 lines!

Horrible Customer Service
September 11, 2021

Expect to wait at least an hour for someone to pick up the phone. Then the person will have to transfer you to the "right" person and you'll have another hefty wait. I have bundled service with ATT for 20 years, but the service has only worsened over time. As soon as I finish giving ATT the deserved lowest rating, I'm going to find another carrier for my phone, internet, and TV. ATT service is the worst!

One star is the lowest grade i could give.
I have received more than 2 dozen phone calls by representatives of AT&T. I have been approached on every occasion, and threatened with the option of accepting a deal to switch my landline service to a voice over service, or my service would be terminated; 'Tough' ' I don't know what to tell you' was their response. Its not a service we're going to be providing anyonore.
AT&T is paying people to harass and intimidate their customers. If placing unfair ultimatums on your paying customers isn't bad business; i will tell you the people that they hire to call you a do their bidding at all costs certainly is, and its repulsive. I can only imagine what the elderly population has gone through when answering the phone and being threatened and bullied by these tyrants. AT&T May cancel my service, but they will also lose a customer. I will replay these phone conversations to anyone i know with AT&T services.

No refund
January 3, 2022

I cancelled TV & phone & internet service with AT&T in September 2021. October 1,2021, I received notice that I had a credit balance of minus $75.53. I expected a check. When the check did not arrive, I called on 11-29-21, and was told to wait another billing cycle. I called again today, 1-3-22, and was told the check was processed on 11-15-21, and to call 1-877-8555 for refunds. I was not given that information the first time I called. I called the 877-8555 number twice. Both times I was asked for my AT&T credit card number. I was not calling about a credit card problem. I don't have an AT&T credit card. I was given no opportunity to ask about my refund. Each time I call I must wait 15-20 minutes or longer "for the next available representative."

I was on the phone for over an hour. I was provided several different phone numbers and transferred to several different departments. It was all so frustrating. I ended up speaking directly with the Manager, Eleane who eventually dropped the call on me an never called me back. I still did not get my issue addressed.

I will never get a personal account of my own with AT&T. Just not worth the headache.

The WORST business
April 25, 2023

I am a business person that has been with AT&T for quite some time. I am tried of trying to explain my situation with someone who has broken English. They don't understand what business customers are asking about the services. I have problems with the services and trying to talk to ANYONE with broken English is like looking for a needle in a hay stake.

They put you on hold, transfer you to department that can't help you and by the time you get someone you have to repeat yourself all over again. By the time you get to the correct department you are so mad that you are pissed out with the person you should have been speaking to from the beginning of the call.

I am so done with AT&T it's time for my business to create years with another company.

A few days ago I visited my local AT & T Store (Rainbow City Alabama) seeking remedy to a technical issue I had with a recently new cell phone I recently purchased. Sales Consultant, Ms. Eymi Zelaya asked me if I needed some assistance after I entered the store. After explaining my dilemma, Ms. Zelaya told me not to worry and that she would have my new phone up and running in no time. After a short while, Ms. Zelaya was able to cut through all the red tape with AT & T's Tech Support and got my phone operational. During that time, Ms. Zelaya never got frustrated with me asking questions, all while keeping a smile and maintaining her professionalism at the same time. There was a moment or two when she did consult the Store Manager (his name escapes me) to make sure she was on track and he was very cooperative as well. Finally, you're very fortunate to have Retail Sales Consultants such as Ms. Zelaya and Store Managers like the gentleman on duty at that time. AT & T forever!

Hire representative that can speak and understand english. When they cannot even repeat your number back to you correctly or pull up your account that's a problem. Then they put you back inline where you must wait FOREVER. After an hour to discuss my plan, I'm still on hold. I'm paying $45 for 6GB. There's plans online for unlimited data for $50. When I login to their website, there's no payment history and I cannot pull up the details of my prepaid plan. There is an option to upgrade... but I'm not about to pay for double services. This is the worst service I've ever experienced. If I have to drive up to an AT&T store for this... I won't do it as I will just end my plan and take my business elsewhere.

AT&T switch and bait
April 15, 2020

When I decided to give AT&T TV and Internet a try I was offered rebates if I place an online order. The rebate was for $250 on a debit card. After I placed my order AT&T only issued a $100 rebate. AT&T did a switch and bait. That's not a good way to keep customers. We will tell our friends and family not to trust you.

AT&T has a history of abusing, overcharging, and delivering horrible services to their customers. Please, please leave a review anywhere you can denouncing these thiefs that the only thing they do well is taking money from customers. I leave in Coppell TX and the only reason I have their "High Speed Internet" is because where I live there's no other choice! And that's what they also do, they eliminate the possibility of having competition, that's their only way to get business for them!

Trade in with AT&T
February 17, 2024

If you want to do a trade in with AT&T pleaseeee, think about it twice. Today after almost 1 year of the trade in, I want to pay off the cellphone, and they said to me that I have to paid all without any discount, so basically I gave them my previous phone as a gift (that was what the agent told me during the phone call). So, before signing anything, ask the seller to let you know about all the conditions, because they never presented that or told to me this information. So please, be careful. If you want to give away your phone, give it to your mom, dad, little sibling but not to them.

Beware Trade-in Promotion
February 14, 2023

If you plan to trade-in, please be cautious. We traded our phone for 1000 credits, and AT&T adjusted our promotion from 1000 to 350 after 6 months! That was not fair, even though I received a message from AT&T confirming that my trade-in phone qualified for $1,000. Bye AT&T and never come back

I had an installation appointment for May 6th from 10-12 and no one showed up, not even a courtesy call and I took time off of work. They rescheduled for May 7th, 12-2 and once again, a no show with no calls. So I canceled abs spectrum hooked me right up with great customer service. If I could give less that one star to AT&T I would. If the most pathetic company that I've ever dealt with.

Went on the website to update my watch it stated I owed 166.00. Went on there 2 hrs later and it was 368. No explanation to why it changed but I was told they couldn't honor the 166. The "supervisor stated that I signed a contract to pay the installments. I asked her so….y'all represent false advertisement? Silence….have a great day

After receiving an email from att regarding my auto-pay discount change, I called att customer service. The customer service rep was incompetent and incomprehensible, when I asked to talk to the manager, after an hour waiting, no manager answered the call and I was connected to the fraud department, still not a manager.
Not taking care of your long term customers is not a wise way to do business. I am certainly looking for a better carrier.

Please stay away from AT&T, they have the worse customer service, and they steal. I am going to get rid of them as fast as possible. They add charges to my account without my knowledge and one can spend hours trying to correct their mistake and inaccurate information. Plues they up the cost of my internet without notifying me to twice the amount.

Overview

The reviews reflect a predominantly negative perception of the company's overall reputation and customer service. Customers frequently express frustration with long wait times, ineffective support, and unresolved billing issues, leading to a sense of distrust and dissatisfaction. Complaints about unauthorized charges and poor communication from representatives are common, suggesting systemic problems in service delivery. While there are occasional mentions of product reliability, the overwhelming sentiment indicates that customers feel neglected and undervalued. This pattern points to a pressing need for the company to improve its customer service protocols and enhance accountability to regain consumer trust.
