Waste of time and Money
September 29, 2020

Paid in for insurance for 2 years and first claim for a cracked screen. After 2 hours on the phone, my options are Pay $29 and wait 9 Days to get the screen fixed or $199 for a new phone. The website is horrible and was no help to me.

Do NOT get Asurion
September 28, 2020

DO NOT GET Asurion Insurance on your phone. After insuring phones for over three years, I finally came to a time to use it. So far, Asurion has had to send me three phones because each one has had major issues. The most recent phone worked okay for about six weeks. Now I can barely hear out of it and the voice memos function does not work at all. When calling Asurion, they said it's not their problem because it broke after a certain amount of time of me having it. They connected me with AT&T who said it's not their problem either and connected me with Apple. Apple said I have to take it in to an Apple store and try to get it fixed. Why would I ever pay my hard earned money again for insurance if their resolution is to send me a completely inferior product that I now have to waste my time to get repaired? Worst money ever spent. They do not hold up their end of the bargain and do not care about providing you with a quality service or solution. It's been an absolute nightmare and it's far from over.

Extremely dissatisfied
September 28, 2020

I purchased a protection plan for my sons bike from $#*!s Sporting Goods. The plan is horrible. I provided them with all the information they requested and after not hearing from them I called only to be left on hold for over an hour and for them to tell me they couldn't get in touch with me despite the fact that they confirmed my correct phone number, mailing address, and email address. After all that they say they can't file a claim because my plan has now expired!

Terrible customer service!
September 27, 2020

Awful company! I wish I didn't have to deal with these people. Unfortunately I have no other option. Verizon uses them so I don't recommend Verizon. Twice today they missed their appointment with no way to reach the technician. I am really disappointed in the way business is done here.

False Advertising
September 27, 2020

I purchased a gaming chair from Staples in June of this year, and specifically also purchased the Asurionn Protection which states, and I quote, in their pamphlet repair or replace, life happens, we've got you covered. If we can't repair it, we'll replace it or reimburse you for it to get you back up and running quickly. What a bunch of BS
I sent them a copy of the sales receipt the purchase protection information as well as pictures of the damaged chair which has stitching coming out from the seat not to mention several other issues. And they say they cannot help me now. Buyer beware this coverage is a scam do not purchase it!

I would put less than 1 star if possible. The following comedy of errors was made by this inept company:
1. Completed their online claims on Sept. 24 to report a phone had been damaged beyond repair. I checked then-option to get the phone the same day between 5 & 7 PM. I received a phone call that the phone was deliver to the wrong house and I could still get the phone if I wanted one that had already been opened (suspicious). I said no and the customer rep said someone would call me back later - no one did the remainder of the day.
2. On Sept 25th I called to find out if a phone was shipped out. The customer care person said the phone was shipped out at 9pm on the 24th. I asked for a tracking number and was put on hold for over 30 min. Until another lady came as if answering the call for the first time. She confirmed that the phone was NOT shipped at 9 PM like I was told.
3. They said the phone would be shipped out on the 25th and I would get it on Saturday, September 26. I jus checked the UPS tracking and it was logged to ship at 12:01pm on the 9/25 but wasn't actually shipped from their location until 12:06 AM on the 9/26.
Summary: This company is full of lies and deceit and will tell you anything to get you off the phone. That's after you've been on hold for ever. Hopefully, I get my replacement phone that I paid $200 for in the next day or two. After that, I'm done with this ripoff company.

Terrible service
September 25, 2020

I had a day set up for them to come to my house and repair my screen and they never showed up. Then I had to call and reschedule and was on the phone for 30min to reschedule another day and they didn't show up for that appointment either and let me sit around waiting for them to only have them text me 10min before their time slot was up to let me know they couldn't come again. Very disappointed with the service and have to reschedule now for the 3rd time.

Worst ever
September 24, 2020

Assurion is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. Customer service is non existent, will hang up on you, not answer questions and blind transfers that end up disconnected. I sent two phones back under warranty. I had proof of returns. Took over 2 months for assurion to give me credit, initially they accused me of sending empty boxes until I showed them the weight reciept from ups. Miraculously they found the phones. Horrible and unprofessional

Rot in hell
September 23, 2020

I'm out $1000 thanks to the miscommunication between AT&T and Asurion.

Went to AT&T to use my upgrade eligibility to get a Pro Max. I specifically told the AT&T representative she was on StraightTalk and the phone would be used with a StraightTalk SIM. "No Problem" said AT&T.

When AT&T offered insurance I brought up, "but she'll be on StraightTalk". They answered, "They insure the device, regardless of what SIM is in it." Made sense to me... until her phone got stolen.

Found out the hard way that this $#*!-hat of a company has twenty-billion clauses in their contract to give them reasons to deny your claim.

>IF< AT&T said it wasn't permitted, I wouldn't have spent that kind of coin on a phone.

>IF< I received ANY documentation, contract stipulations, signed anything, let alone even had a hint that putting a different SIM in the phone would void the insurance, I WOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT THE PHONE.

Got the phone less than a month ago and now can look forward to paying $1000 for a device I INSURED but don't have. Who FU&KING CARES WHAT SIM IS IN THE PHONE? THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO INSURE THE PHONE, PERIOD! Well, at least that's how it was presented to me.

I feel completely misled by AT&T, who of course has their hands tied and just can't entertain the thought that their representative provided false information which costed ME, not them.

So tired of customers getting screwed over by big business like this. I'll never use AT&T again, and I've been a loyal customer for over 10yrs. If they can't stand behind their customer then I won't stand by them.

So pissed...

Make no mistake in realizing that this is an insurance company. They are designed to do one thing, take your money and payout as little back as possible. There are so many Asurion locations, im going to copy and paste this message on ALL since I cannot find any other area to leave a review.
This is in reference to an LG refrigerator breakdown. The fridge was purchased from Home Depot who offers the extended warranty through asurion.
Total time in which our less than 3 year old fridge was not working: 1 MONTH!
Lots of things happened in that month. There appears to only be 1 certified repairman for the Dallas/Fort Worth TX area. He was over worked, impatient, negligent, untrained, and unsympathetic to the situation. As a result he put us on the back burner and cost us multiple days on the part, and misrepaired it. Costing us a 2nd claim and the rest of the month.
Asuruon did issue a 10% "cost of our fridge" check towards a mini fridge, and Home Depot DID upgrade that for a better fridge after 2 weeks in. LG ended up completing the repair correctly on the 29th day. Asurion did issue a food loss check for about 75% of what we thought we lost.
Next time we buy an appliance or cell phone we will see about other insurance options.

Attempted over 2 dozen times to schedule repair from online source. Bank statement shows "pending" which is has since last night - Supervisor - Candice, Supervisor Customer Service Team denying to adjust the $29 repair fee. So far spent over 1.5 hours trying to get appointment scheduled. In fact, if I hadn't called today to make the appointment today I wouldn't have known they weren't coming tomorrow either. Agents spoke to were very polite and attempted to be helpful but their leadership isn't very cooperative w/ resolution

As with any insurance writer, their job is to retain as much of the premium you pay in order to be profitable. The problem is when they are not willing to provide the service you are paying them for, or make it so hard to file a claim within the TOS it makes the policy is useless. Save your money, by the time you pay the deductible and fight with them on the phone you will be cheaper to buy a new $1,000.00 phone outright. Terrible service, terrible support, another terrible thing for ATT to further degrade their horrible reputation for customer service. I cannot rate 0 or negative I would.

Poor customer service
September 17, 2020

I renewed my service contract with Asurion last year, August 27,2019 for my Samsung dryer purchased 2016. My renewal was never sent to home depot. When I tried to place a service call on September 9, they could not find it. Then it was found and I was told I had a service call on September 11. I waited all day no one showed. I have talked to do many, gotten the run around. No one knows what's going on and no one follows up. Received an email on September 13, was told I had a service call for today. I even double checked last night. Called to not only do I not have a service call, Cyber world just got the ticket today. This is the worst service I have gotten with my appliances.

I started to call for repair status on my phone after 10 work days and well past the 3-5 work days promised. I spent too much time on the phone trying to get a status update and felt like I was always talking to sales trying to get me to add coverage to my home laptop/tvs/etc. They sent me a bogus tracking # of a alleged delivery that had taken two weeks prior that never happened to my address while it was still being repair because later I was sent another valid tracking #. I have been paying insurance for years and realized that it has not been worth it. Poor service for a simple cracked screen that I could have gotten it repair at a local repair store. I am cancelling both phone insurance and just save that amount to have repair on my own. I could have replaced them with all that money over the the years. Terrible service and business practice.

We sent our Verizon phone in for a claim, it was dropped in water. We paid 1,000 for the phone and $159 for the co-pay on the insurance claim. Within a couple days of getting it back, a hacker was on the phone, messing with the audio, opening spreadsheets, and putting in passwords. We did a factory reset and the hacker was back in 20 seconds before the prompts even finished. We were told this is indicative of a hardwire hack. We are in covid virus isolation so NOBODY had this phone except my husband and I. The person typed in Spanish on my phone. Asurion would not take the phone back or even redeem our $159 copay, because we waited 7 days. We didn't even know it happened in 7 days!

What a RIP off
September 14, 2020

I have had Sprint and insurance since 1997 on all phones. This is 2nd time in 23 years of looking at using it.
Sprint repair people said my phone ((Note 8)) almost 4 years? Old, but I won't use a 5G phone for 2-3 years when service is in our area. So, no sense in upgrading yet.
The phone just wasn't getting service anymore... nothing wrong with the aesthetics or being damaged.
So Sprint told me 7 days to get a replacement. Same phone. After $275 deductible... huh? I looked on Internet. New one was $220-$250 on a few sites. Delivered.
Not refurbished... NEW.
Refurbs were $180... delivered.
So. Paying $275 and waiting 7 days! Was stupid. Paying a service to RIP me off... wow. I wanted a supervisor... ok, lady said,. Burrrr. Hung up.
Called again. (Philippines) been there a few times myself. Nice people really. Mostly, but you always have to watch out.
2nd call... 10 minutes to go through my ordeal. Again, please give me a supervisor... okay. Transfer tone. Hello. Immediately hung up on. I didn't get a chance for a word.
3rd time. I told the person I wanted a supervisor that I keep getting hung up on on transferring... oh, sorry, no problems. Here you go... hung up.
No call backs to me... just terrible service. I cancelled their insurance today because it sucks! Go someplace else.

Refund
September 13, 2020

Lost a phone and received a new one quickly for a fee of $`49.00 Found my lost phone and returned the new one a week later. This was in February of 2020. I am still waiting for my refund of $149.00 for the return of the new phone.
Asurion says they sent it on March 24,2020. I and my bank say they did not. I have called them 5 times the last of which was not even noted on their records. This is the worst insurance company I have ever had to deal with. Their response to my numerous requests is inaction. Also, eash call has taken at least 45 minutes and still no results.

Protection plan
September 11, 2020

I bought a washer and dryer at Home depot Hatillo PR in 2015. I added the 5-year protection plan. I wanted to renew the plan but couldn't. I was a week calling different numbers. *******400 Home depot Hatillo PR. *******232 Home depot global. *******922 Protection plan. *******337 protection plan. *******403. Protection plan. *******701 protection plan. *******555 asurion. This telephone is damaged. The policy of home depot is that with a month to expire the protection plan they send you a letter so you can renew which never arrived. Now they tell me that since the plan is expired they cannot renew it. When I bought the protection plan in Hatillo they didn't tell me this. Misleading advertisement. I do not recommend home depot and less the protection plan of asurion.

They will go out of their way to not help you unless the deductible is less then the phone is worth. They say 9 eligible phones but once you use one its locked in for good. Complete scam.
