The phone I received from Assurance wireless without a doubt is the worst phone I have ever had in my life.
The phone does not charge properly. It can have a 100% on the Battery and still not turn on. Sometimes it doesn't charge at all with a good charger and cable. It's Russian Roulette of whether this phone will work or not.
Last week I called Assurance about the phone. I spent a long time on the phone with someone who's English was hard to understand. They wanted to charge me $59 for a new phone at first. However after speaking with the guy I found out my older phone I had with Verizon would work with their system. After going over a bunch of things; the guy told me I needed a new simm card to work with that phone and that they would ship it to me in 4-5 business days. It's been over a week and a half and still no simm card.
I called Assurance back to find out if there was a problem. I spoke to a girl this time who's English was way worse than the guy last time. After checking, There was no record of my conversation with the other person. Then she wanted me to get the simm card out of the Assurance phone that I have. This phone is sealed in a way that there is no access. She then tells me the phone I want to use is locked and that I would need to call my old carrier to have it unlocked. Then I can call back and go through the whole process again.
This is a joke of a company. I guess this is what you get when you need a free phone. Trash from top to bottom.
Assurance wireless is letting someone create accounts using my personal information. On 1/2/24 I was told that there were 4 open accounts in my name using my public aid information. They were supposed to cancel those accounts and put a warning on my information in the system to Not allow any more accounts to be opened. 1 week later I received another free phone (I now have 3). Another account was allowed to be opened. They are letting someone commit fraud which makes them an accessory to a crime. This is our Government allowing companies to defraud the Government. Never deal with this wireless provider. They are offshore and are complete idiots.
I've had almost every cell carrier especially the free government phones and out of "ALL" paid or free assurance is the ONLY one that is TRULY unlimited including hotspot and WiFi never slows down never drops calls phone service is perfect only thing they need Lot if improvement on is their outsourced customers service thT is poorly trained and speaking to a supervisor is 100% impossible! But still it's worth it cause of service

I just got off the phone a little while ago with some outsourced Indian customer service guy because I'd upgraded my Internet Connectivity in November because the regular android phone they provided me is so slow and crappy I hate using it, and all the correspondence I've received regarding the upgrade clearly states that the government subsidized upgraded service INCLUDES a new Smartphone, and yet I've not received one a whole month later! This guy acted smug, stating that is for new customers only" and said in 7 days I'd "get an update" from their "legal department" as if this "legal department" had a leg to stand on (which they don't). This is clear-cut breach of contract. Nowhere in the numerous marketing mailings previous, nor the two letters I received AFTER I upgraded did it state this is for new customers only. I did say to him that if people were to file a class-action suit Assurance Wireless would lose, and that I'm sure I'm not the only customer who has noticed this bait and switch they are trying to pull off. I said it would be best if they just honor the promise they made in writing numerous times than to suffer the humiliation of having the government conduct a probe and rescind the funds from them and possible legal action from customers. I told him that maybe some customers would fall for his lame excuse, but not me, as I know enough about the law to understand that they are false advertising and breaching an agreement. Attached are two letters I received both dated November 20th promising the new smartphone as part of the new upgraded package. One letter even goes so far as to remind me to activate the "new Smartphone" when I receive it and tells me instructions for how to set it up.
I think we all should call our members of Congress and report this, and file an official complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the FCC (Federal Communications Commission).
I'd be happy to go with another company that does honor their agreements and have the government do a chargeback of all the funding they issued Assurance Wireless.
I am an oxygen dependent, disabled senior. I have been with this service for 2 years. My lifeline phone is awful. Lags, drops calls, and now it is not functional. Customer service has been horrible. They won't replace the phone, leaving me without a lifeline. Told me I have to purchase a new phone. And the price changes each time I call assurance. I live on less than $409 a month. Can't afford to buy a phone. Can't answer calls or dial out. Will definitely go to a new company when I find one. If something happens, I have no way to contact 911. Horrible for someone in my health. For a TMobile company I expected better. DONT USE THIS ONE.
I got a phone last year because the part that charges broke. They charged me $20 to get another phone. Now my phone is broke again. It won't hold a charge and the charger won't stay in the piece that charges again. So, two weeks ago, I called, explained the problem, and they said I had to pay $59.95 for another phone and a $20 shipping fee. I said no, because this is a government phone through Life Line and why should I pay $59.95 for a used second hand phone? So, they said they would send me another one and I would get it last week, on Tuesday. Because I never got it, I called and this supposed CSR comes on the line and acts like I never called in and said I have to pay $59.95 and another $20. I said no and explained what the other CSR said and he said that I have 2 options. I either pay $80 or they could cancel my account today, wait for 24 hours, and give me a new account but, I wouldn't get a phone until March. I asked why and he started yelling at me and then said if I borrow a phone from family or friends, they could insert their simm card and I could continue with service until March. I said my family is dead and I don't have any friends. So, now I have a broken phone and no way of getting another. So, I wrote the FCC. I feel like they are extorting poor people. I don't know who is over them. I know T Mobile is the parent company. I called them last year over what happened and they had no clue Assurance Wireless was even linked to them.
I can make+send calls and txts no issues or delays. What I love most is that I can watch the reels on Facebook, Instagram, snap chat etc. and no lag or waiting for loading. Literally this is the best FREE government phone experience I've ever experienced (thank God) and I've been getting my government free phone for about 6 years and have been bouncing from one service to the next for 6 YEARS. Man as long as they keep this up I'm never switching
I I would rather have a lobotomy performed on my brain before getting back to insurance wireless again- I would rather have kidney stones everyday for a year then deal with insurance wireless again- people let me tell you this is misinformation and the worst system that is completely broken all the time you're in you're out- be sure and take your blood pressure medication and your heart medication before you start dealing with these people nothing ever works it gets real real bad

I call them about this cell phone alot of time and wants to say it's my fault not there's.and they told me.they have the headquarters office to waive the fee for the cell phone and have not heard back from them yet. And the girl on the phone telling me no notes I call them in told them what's going on the phone. Sam today 247pm.i told her to close it today.make a complaint on this company what they did and what the employees said too me last week about the order of the phone. I told her I gave it back to them she said no no Sam employee.
Nothing problem since the beginning of October. After being a customer for 10 years with little or no problems they sent me five phones in a row that did not work. I didn't want to change my number but I had to. They also lied to me about returning the $40 that was on my account. I called one day and was told that the credit was issued on November 17th call the week later and was told it was issued on the 18th. You do not want to deal with this company
We need a lawfirm to represent all that have been emotionally abused by the practices of assurance wireless and t mobil they are continuing with the practices that got them a ******* million fine.I want to sue for the emotionnal distress they have caused not to mention the loss of service and complete disregard for the settelment reached with the fcc in 2021.they need to be held accountable.
When I switched to a new lifeline acp service provider the company assurance wireless cut my phone off so now I have to wate 7 to 10 days without a phone also when my service was active call would cut out and I would have to use Speak phone also they dont no how to update a address and they are not will to help I would give them zero stars if I could I won't be going back to assurance wireless ever again

The customer service is the worst. They don't help they just hang and when you try to talk to a supervisor they blow you off and put you on hold. I have an unlocked thats compatible with any phone and they refuse to let me use to. If it wasn't for the customer service I would be happy but the company is ran by nothing but Asian people that can barely speak English.
I recieved a ok from lifeline to get assurance. They sent phone that you couldnt type on just talk to. The recieved a letter from them stating i could recieve another program. Called them was approved. Three days later was told I was cancelled and I would have to pay $10 to get back on and it would be 10cents a minute., How can I be approved 8 months ago, then approved again for updated program then shut off and owe money.? I am on Medicare, Medicaid and very low SSA. Other reviews will tell you they did same thing to them. FCC and Feds need to look into this co. Can not put screen shot as phone turned off.
I received a broken phone, I called I'm told because device works they will upgrade it. I wait two months no phone I called they said the updated phone costs 35$. I said I don't have it right now I thought because my phone was damaged I got it free. No that phone is no longer available. I'm upset as all hell phone is broken. Two months ago phone was available I ordered it. Now I'm told I have a balance of 35$ to receive it but it's no longer in stock. Ok well where can I go get a phone today I do not have two months or 70$ to wait. My attorney calls this phone my doctor's and so forth. I'm told only options are to purchase out of date phones for triple the amount of the actual cost of these phones or don't have one. I know I can bring my own phone it's on y'all's site. I say this and asked what network can I use. I'm laughed at told this bring my own device is a lie. I said I literally googled it on the phone with you and it's on your damn webpage. I am a senior citizen living on social security and on a strict budget and have to contact my doctor daily to give them the readings on my diabetic machine. I have ordered and paid for a new phone well over two months ago and first time waited 14 days when i called said tech incorrectly processed phone. I then sent a copy of my drivers license which dmv and social security both have accepted since it is a PO Box since i live in a high crime area where mail is stolen daily. The associate said that wasn't a problem and even stated that in a email and today i called yet again and they gave a bull$#*! story it was rejected. They have 0 problems taking the payment for the check and do that immediately and you can't get someone that knows what they are even talking about. This issue will be corrected and have plenty of people willing to help me change how this company treats people first thing they should do is training on customer service and speaking English. Hang up on someone else. They deserve a 0 across the board
