This is our government giving us these free phone's. God forbid you ever have to try to use it in an emergency. If you can get it fully charged it will freeze or bombard you with ads. It never charges enough because the charger port is bad to begin with. Service is terrible. Doesn't ring through and can't call out most of the time. This phone is supposed to be for people that can't afford a cell. Guess us poor people are screwed. Can't even make a simple call or text when you need to. Like I said in the beginning, God forbid you need it in an emergency, you'll DIE. In these times most of all, I can't even communicate with my loved ones. Thanks to the government phone... assurance wireless...
The worst experience ever! Going on a week with no phone, no help, and no way to port my old number to a new service. All any representatives do is paw you off to someone else with no resolution! On hold for hours just to get another person who doesn't seem to care at all. Worst experience I've had with humans- truly a company that needs to be take out back and shot. They are doing more harm than good!
The only reason I gave 1 star is because the phone was free! This is the worst phone company in history! I've been waiting a month just to get my service switched over to the unlimited plan. No one ever calls you back and the representatives are useless! They all tell you the same thing but never really help with your issue. I hate this service and will never use it again!
I've had this service over 5 years. I upgraded to a smart phone and the horrors began! They changed my top up date, asked for another application, I mailed it in three months ago when I got my new phone. Christmas Eve morning I have no Service and they said I don't qualify anymore! Mind you nothing has changed with my income either! Horrible customer service, three phone calls in and as I write this I'm still on hold, going on 15 minutes while they "check my account"
I've had this pos Android phone a little under a year. I absolutely hate it. It does whatever it wants to. Pop ups, shut downs, the phone rings but the screen is black so you miss your call. I called them wanting a different phone. They wanted $50 with no guarantees it would work any better. Scam. Now they want to sell me a phone that works for $140?
In August of 2020, I complained of assurance withholding my 33 dollar and 3 cent payment for added data. After two weeks they called me back and restored my data. Saying it was an "error" in their system. After that, my phone is swamped with spam calls, scam calls, and unwanted text messages. So my advise to future customers of assurance is don't complain or you will be punished.
I say beware. Not the lifeline they advertise. Just received my assurance phone. Making a call is a roll of the dice Everytime. One out of five calls make it. Text app always crashing. Have to remove battery in a average of 3 times a day. Phone just completely freezes up won't do nothing
I lost my phone and tried to get a new one, first person say they ordered it. I called few days later to check up on it, they told me my account is not active and never has been. What?! Third person said to contact the police what?! For a 30$ phone that was given to me. Long story short nobody knows what they are doing, I would not recommend this service to anyone because god forbid they need a replacement! -0 stars.
The CS team is not reliable and will cover themselves with lie upon lie! They do not provide the service they promise only excuses. I do NOT recommend anything about them. Cheap phones that are easily hacked on a constant basis. CS that changes their story everytime you talk to them! Been waiting on phone for over 60 working days.
They are thieves they took my 60$ and refuse to give me a knew phone they are saying I never paid when the money definitely came out of my bank account and went to them. Don't get this company doesn't matter if it's free every month they will rob you

Do not go with this company. They say acp accepted but after a few months it gets screwed up an d you get 250 minutes a month. 3 times, over an hour each call to fix this. Not fixed 3 weeks later. Useless representatives. Company lies.

Tried to make a call today and assurance has cancelled my service for some unknown reason. It seems impossible to get through to an agent. I just hot the phone last month and they say I no longer qualify for lifeline services.
I have had their service twice now and it really went downhill when T-Mobile took over from sprint. I have had to replace dysfunctional phones multiple times and today they refused to replace an even crappier dysfunctional phone with my new service citing I had gone beyond the three month warranty and would have to pay over 39 dollars to probably get another crappy phone. They are a joke. Misleading ads, poor customer service outsourced to foreign countries, no accountability to government they probably get a lot of money and concessions for providing this pathetic service to poor and disenfranchised people. There is no excuse for it! Going with a small company when I can afford it.
Assurance wireless is letting someone create accounts using my personal information. On 1/2/24 I was told that there were 4 open accounts in my name using my public aid information. They were supposed to cancel those accounts and put a warning on my information in the system to Not allow any more accounts to be opened. 1 week later I received another free phone (I now have 3). Another account was allowed to be opened. They are letting someone commit fraud which makes them an accessory to a crime. This is our Government allowing companies to defraud the Government. Never deal with this wireless provider. They are offshore and are complete idiots.
Don't bother trying. These people refuse to fix their defective products and then charge you $50 for shipping only to get the same defective devices. They don't speak English when you call so you can not communicate your issues. Everyone single receptionist claims to be the supervisor. Nothing but lies from this company and the workers!
The worst customer Service I experienced. They always given me a wrong information. Lack of training including their supervisor. Im asking about the letter I received about a new cellphone phone. They given me days when it doesn't come on that day I called again and another days. Now I received a letter Im requesting to switch to ACP and I don't. Assurance wireless should move their company to different call center. While writing this review no answer and continues waiting and already 1 and 15 minutes waiting. I will write the company in IL about this.
I I would rather have a lobotomy performed on my brain before getting back to insurance wireless again- I would rather have kidney stones everyday for a year then deal with insurance wireless again- people let me tell you this is misinformation and the worst system that is completely broken all the time you're in you're out- be sure and take your blood pressure medication and your heart medication before you start dealing with these people nothing ever works it gets real real bad
These people have had the audacity of colonist liars. I've lost my phone and they don't want to talk to me. They pretty much call my husband a liar. They sent to people to my place of business to give out phones. Those two told us that if we lost it reported a phone stolen that it would get replaced. I got the Motorola In which I had to pay $70 for. They also told me that every time they received an upgrade we will get one in the mail. We've had nothing but issues and they don't wanna deal with it. Instead they call us liars and act like we're a burden. Definitely not a way to conduct business. And this is not helping people. You're taking their money and then walking away. I'm also reporting this to Better Business Bureau. Yes I have proof and no I'm not showing you.
