Free sounds good but in the end this service will bring a lot of stress frustration, disappointment. Things that effect ur health an mood.
They gave me free service but rob me from happiness. Every day started with frustration an stress due to fighting with this phone. I have missed talks an messages from family that I can't get back. Lost jobs over it. U will fall behind in a growing world if you dare count on Assurance Wireless!
They give you a phone with such $#*!ty service that you are forced to pay for service, what's the point of issuing free service if it don't work, government is just wasting taxpayer money with this program.
The microphone on them is lousy, you can barely hear who you're talking to and they can't hear you. It takes almost ten minutes to receive texts from when you turn it on. Countless other issues. And I agree with another reviewer, the tech support person I talked to sounded like he was from India. Was promised a better phone, I got the exact same one in a few days. Switching to another free goverment plan.
I have used them for several years. The garbage phone they provide started to lose battery service while still under warranty. The division to replace the phone under warranty REFUSES to return calls to arrange the replacement. I must charge my phone several times/day to keep it working.I goes from 90% to 0% overnight in less than 7-8 hours. I use it very little each day. As a senior I keep it more for emergency contact and a few texts. It may not have life to make an emergency call. It won't load some programs that would benefit me, and is so loaded with their garbage that I have little memory to use anyway. Warranty requires a free replacement phone. Complaints to the FCC won't get them to honor their obligations either. They were required to respond by the FCC but silence reigns!
This co. Sucks. They have idiots in some other country that can't help you and won't give you a U.S. number to call. My phone cuts out as people are speaking to me. I have to shake the phone to get to hear them again. I BOUGHT 3 phones thinks Ng it was the phone. The last phone took 4 mo's. To get because they sent it to the wrong address. Now this one does the same thing. I've searched for a phone no. Here in the U.S. but they don't want you to get hold of them because their service is so bad.
I realize Assurance offers Free Cellphone Service however They have terrible standards I purchased Data and I meant to do it Once however The Site froze so not thinking it went through I did it again then when I discovered My error I phone Assurance after 3 Calls waiting 8 Days I got no refund so I am done with Them and I advise Others don't get them!
Offshore Representatives hangs up in your face. Lazy, don't do their jobs. If ask for a supervisor, they will immediately tell you one is not available. It is amazing how American representatives are held to a higher standard. Offer shore representatives are rude, disrespectful, and held to a lesser standard. This company should not have a Government contract. Why should the Government pay salaries to these people. They will flag your account as a " BAD CUSTOMER " and will not provide you service. Fire this company and put these sleazy, lazy offshore scum bag people back welfare where they belong. Pure Trash
They send seniors BROKEN USED CELL PHONES. Their phones set in the warehouse and they send you 4-5 phone which were all broken and calls were dropping everyday. Unable to talk on them as well. They use to be Virgin Mobil and were good than all hell broke loose. Free is not good sometimes.
I contacted Assurance Wireless for a replacement phone on July 25. The phone was supposed to be sent overnight. I called today spoke with Shawn a supervisor and was told the phone will not be arriving.Today was my 4th time speaking to this company about the phone and Everytime the information provided was different. This foreign company has proven their inability to assist USA customers!
Called again on 8/6/2023 to request a refund. A T- Mobile supervisor begin to email about providing her with a good contact number which seemed funny to me knowing that she should know that I don't have a contact phone number bc they NEVER sent a replacement phone!
Suddenly shut off my phone service because I had lost a phone accidentally under an elevator, into what they call the pit. Only quarterly inspectors could get it out. I was reliant on my apt. Manager to call them. Still, no phone for you was there mentality and I had to call in to find out. I could send the phone back, (uh it's under an elevator), or I could pay 65.00 per the rep. I tried to tell her I was a high risk senior and I am losing my legs. She didn't care, just reiterated what she has just told me about paying and then said goodbye to me! So bad. Horrible. It was my only phone. Free lifeline program.
Everything was great until mid-September. Then my internet started cutting off consistently, every 20-30 minutes. I called Customer Service repeatedly, and they kept saying they would fix the problem. But they didn't. As it is, I have to restart my phone, and/or reset my System Settings, over and over again every day. Why can't they fix this?
I qualified for an free service government phone. They sent me an very bad ANS smart phone with faulty battery life. Tons of reviews online relaying the same problem and even Assurance Wireless has said these phones are crap. Twice the representative has told me I qualified for an upgraded phone. Twice nothing has ever came in the mail. This phone is going to be tossed in the garage where it belongs and as for the cs of these people hey there's an lot of other phone providers!
I got this service middle of November here it is end of January my phone wont charge it kept draining( even turned off) now wont turn on tried to call customer service with no answer worse service ive ever had
I have a very bad experience with this company, they humiliating us just because they provide us with a very bad quality cell phones, also the representatives whom we talked to, are very good liars, they gave us false promises that they will send us the phone after we paid the money they asked & the device was stopped working within 3 months, in spite of that we paid, and received the worst device we ever seen, also it was dead after few months, and since two months we are waiting for the other new one which they said we'll receive it within 5 days, but in vain. Now they asked again for more money or they will not send us the device after 2 months waiting. Is it a company to help the poor people, or a company to get money from them? I am leaving this bad company, and I'm sorry to myself that I didn't do that from the beginning
I have only had this wireless insurance phone for a little more than a month, within the first week the screen started losing sensitivity and after it lost sensitivity it started randomly pushing buttons by itself. The back button stopped working about 2 weeks after owning it and I figured out how to get around that with being able to push the screen, but when the screen started not working it I can't even answer my phone calls. I've called customer service several times and was told I could get one replacement phone but do I want to is the question.
I have gone through 13 different phones from this company. Every single time has been because the phone battery either stopped charging or the charger on the phone just quit working. These phones are low quality and bad designed pieces of junk. One of the phones would heat up so much it shut it self off to cool down. On the other hand, the service is terrible. I would literally lose connection in my house. It didn't matter where I went or traveled, the service would always be terrible. Also many of the phones, at least 6 of them, would freeze up constantly! I had to take the freaking battery out of the phone to unfreeze it! Another complaint is the phones are very weak. At least 5 of the phones cracked from dropping it about 1-2 feet in the air. That just shows you how poorly the phones are designed.
I sent in THREE renewals for the government phone service, and they acknowledged NONE of them, they only kept sending applications saying I never re-applied. When I called to ask what happened to the application, they sent another, after telling me the phone would come in two weeks. Their English comprehension is only marginal. The last time I spoke with them, I told the polite representative that she should look for another job as this company will not last very long with the horrible service. The problem is, the other reviews for government phone companies are just as bad. You're better off getting the lowest cost service you can get from a reputable provider.
Avoid this company at all cost. They no longer have any care or compassion for their customers. I have been with assurance wireless for numerous years and they're good equipment has always been shoddy. I am on food stamps and Medicaid but get nothing but the company line of having to pay 40 dollars for another phone. This company has no compassion and does not care about his customers. I will go without a phone before I pay them a dime.
I feel severely taken advantage of I called they refused to turn on my phone it's a so called government phone free unlimited text, internet,and calls I'm not happy. This is the 3 or 4 time u called today just now. The company sucks not doing this ever. And its a fake if they are connected to t mobile or metro it's a fake. Im.a vulnerable adult. I just ordered a new phone too from the still nothing works.
These workers of representatives don't know how to do their job and fearing of contact their teamwork to process my phone. They have provided a FedEx tracking number but it delivered to a wrong state.

Answer: No they only have 1 phone, a UMX. They don't work you can't even call Costomer Service with it.
