Marci Clines was wonderful in assisting us with places to visit once she discovered our needs and what area we were interested in. We were undecided and would put looking on hold but, Marci always stayed in touch. Sending property web pages made it easy to decide if we wanted to visit in person. The property's were accommodating and easy to tour.
I didn't know what to look for in Phoenix when I had to find a place for my friend. They helped me find the place we moved her into.
I had success finding a place for my mom but felt that this time I didn't get as much guidance. I did most of the work myself but appreciated a list to go by.
It is very helpful when you can speak with someone who cares and has tons of resources.
I had several very nice discussions with Maricel over a two or three year Period. Initially, I was just gathering information for future use. Recently, I settled upon Legend in Lancaster Pennsylvania. Planning on moving in that facility in July 2024.
Were very polite knowledgeable and prompt/professional
Jonathon was very helpful in finding and setting up appointments at various facilities in my area. Everything was setup for me with just a phone call. Highly recommend A Place For Mom!
Everyone was attentive, clear and helpful in our needs. We booked a place a few days after contacting your service- mom moved in a week later. Great transition.
Christina Smith s a real keeper. She was knowledgeable but even moreso supportive as I worked to place my brother in a more suitable facility closer to home. The whole process was more challanging due to the fact that he was coming from another state, had a medical plan that didn't transfer and many details of his finances that I knew nothing about. I needed that listening ear and encouragement when I didn't think I could manage this transition. She worked with me every step of the way. Your emails from A Place for Mom also helped me to better understand the decisions I needed to make and better understand his disability. He is now a resident at Braemar at Wallkill.
Tried to access the system. The automated answer set up is a nightmare. It just runs you around in circles. I am a retired tech support engineer for commission products. I have set up or redesigned hundreds of these systems. I have never seen one that was this screwed up.
This has to be a scam. You reach out to them and get nothing bit spam. If you're looking for a position with them they have incredibly long (2-month+) hiring processes with several needless interviews. You will get partway through the process and they will cease contact with you.
Do not trust this company.
A Place for Mom does not do any vetting of any of the community they refer to families. They only care about getting a referral fee from the communities. They will only refer you to place they know they can get a referral fee from and that they are contract with. These lists are not bases on the quality of each senior living community but rather those they contract with. Purely about profits and not seniors.
Furthermore, your information will be sent to many communities with or without your consent. Often times you will receive dozens of phone calls from them; PUSHY! Do not go to A place for Mom they offer no services to the senior. Go directly to the community you are interested in do not click on A PLace for Mom. Often times A Place for Mom is paid 100% of the first months rent from whatever community you do decide to move into, for doing NOTHING. Do not use this ponzi.
I typed a specific ALF into google, and thought I was on a specific ALF website, yet the phone # listed ended up being the phone for A Place for Mom. Only after giving replies to many of their questions, I found out that I was not speaking to the ALF who I thought I called, so I excused myself from the call saying that I would call the ALF directly. They, in turn, blacklisted me. Two weeks later, I was reviewing info for a different ALF and the same thing happened...and once again, I was connected (inadvertently) to A Place for Mom. When they asked me my info, I was informed by the Assistant who answered the call, that I didn't qualify for their services because they were unable to assist me with my previous call. I tried to explain that I didn't request, nor receive any assistance but her answer was that her " notes said I did". Conversation ensued but she wasn't interested in me. Suffice it to say that she told me to have a nice day and hung up on me! Being a caregiver myself, and dealing with many ALF's throughout the Bay Area, I'm truly disappointed in the way I was treated, and I'm saddened to know that they would be that uncaring to the hundreds and thousands of people who genuinely need help for a loved one. If they mistreat one, they'll mistreat many! They lost my initial impression of them and I would urge anyone to think twice before using the services from A Place for Mom. Thank you, Debi
Meds are all on time and never missed. Food prep done very neat and clean and also on time. I was lost to find a good place and i am greatful that i found the Residence
A facility person told me A Place for Mom gets paid if they send the facility the name of someone who enrolls in the facility. She said if you're with A Place for Mom, the facility can't offer you the breaks and incentives they would if you came on your own since they have to pay A Place for Mom. A Place for Mom did NOT select places that fit my needs or help me with what I didn't already know. They sent me a list of pretty much every facility in the area that they get money from, so no matter where I went on my own, A Place for Mom would get paid. I never meant to enroll in A Place for Mom. I think I clicked on what looked like a specific facility but it was APfM. And they won't let me go. I asked to be released long ago, but for years now, I get email from them and am still ensnared in their clutches. Once I clicked on them, I was trapped apparently forever. If they email me and I reply a plea to let me go, I think I may be re-enrolling because I replied.
I have been working in this industry for almost 9 years. A Place for Mom is the worst organization any family member could possibly use when starting their search for senior living options. Prospects that are on the internet looking around, typically will stumble upon their site unknowingly because of the amount of money apfm dumps into internet searches ("sponsor") tag beware! They will barely get info from the prospect or family and then blast it to any and every community they have an affiliation with. They schedule preset tours without confirming any community schedules and causes a lot of headaches for the prospect, their families and each community. From what we've heard lately, they tell their web inquires to not take calls or talk with any community directly, any and all communication should go directly through apfm. Their style, lack of integrity and compassion speaks volumes. Do not work with or through a place for mom. You are better suited to contact local senior organizations, PCOA.org for Tucson, AZ and any local advisor specific to your search area.
A joke, we spent 3 days calling every memory care provider within 100 miles, no beds available, they said no problem we will email you a list, they emailed 2 places we know have no open beds and two assisted living places, which we need memory care, had a phone conference set up for 9am-10am, no call, it's now 645pm, thanks alot for nothing, don't waste your time
I made simple request to have some information sent to me via email and instead of have been inundated with push, annoying telephone calls.
They only care about the fee. They send you all over the state and do no leg work themselves. They have no clue of the demographic area you have asked for. Many of the intake people are from other states. They then just blanket ever Assisted Living that has a contract with them to make sure they get their fee. They have no idea what some of these facilities even look like. The families then receive multiple calls from all the facilities. Go with a local referral agency near you.
I called the company and indicated at the very beginning of the call that I did not want my relative's full name given out. At the end of the call they admitted that they won't do business with me unless they spam my relatives full name and age out to an array of assisted living facilities in the area. I asked them to delete all the information they had just collected on my relative and me and they refused to say delete it. They merely said we will close the file. Also please know that these Representatives don't have contracts with all of the places in your area so they are only going to refer you to places where they make a big referral fee. Rude agent. Robotic script. Do your own legwork. I would not trust any recommendations that this company makes

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
Dear Tom,
We take community quality assurance extremely seriously. We vet communities as part of the onboarding process, including verifying their licensing status and conduct a twice-yearly licensing review and violations audit of each of our communities. To our knowledge, we are the only senior living referral service that conducts these audits.
Our advisors are not compensated based on which community in our network a family chooses. They are simply incented to help each family find the right solution that meets their needs.
