The staff is excellent with the residents. Everyone in the facility is highly trained for dementia.
I worked with Cindy Best and she was WONDERFUL. So very helpful and full of ideas and suggestions. She was available to talk with me not just during "business hours" and that was a huge help as well. I actually used this service twice and was incredibly pmeased both times.
I spoke with a place for Mom twice. They sent me a list of places. I am pretty sure it was googled. But anyways, they did nothing for me besides send me a list of places to look at. Then they never followed up with me to see how things were going. They sent out a mass email per requirements. But never followed up on any of the questions or concerns that were posted in the emails. When I spoke with my worker the second time I asked about it. Her response was she just does not have the time. If I need something I need to call her. When I spoke with the assisted living facility they had no idea that I was working with a place for mom. I spoke with APFM and explained that I did all the work and the worker did nothing except send me a list they told me I was wrong and that there are lots of notes. So basically because APFL was involved my father lost out on a move in sale that they were having. I would never use this type of program again and would recommend that you do the google search yourself and ask people. You will get better help.
I spoke to them by phone and they gave me 6 care home names to visit. I had to visit them myself and 1 claimed they had no vacancy the same day I received the information, so they obviously were not vetted as I was told. 1 home did not accept medicaid as payment, as I had requested, 1 home could not handle the level of care my Mom needed and another was so scary that I walked directly out as soon as I saw the conditions. Only 1 home was acceptable and then I learned they had to give the entire first months cost I paid to A Place For Mom. That was hardly earned for providing me with bad information one 2 phone calls. I recommend people do their own internet search of homes near them and skip the gift to this referral agency. They didn't earn it.
In a very stressful time APFM was very helpful and supportive. They very quickly found several options to meet my mom's needs.
Lindy Culbertson was my advisor when I was searching for assisted living and later for Memory Care for my mother. Lindy was extremely informative, knowledgeable and an absolute joy to work with. She understood my parents' needs and was very helpful in finding the most suitable community. Very easy to talk to, Lindy made the whole experience much easier to navigate.
A Place for Mom did a good job providing a list of options based on location and pricing models and provided good background info on each community. We were very pleased with the service and my mother is quite happy with the choice we made, now comfortably transitioned into her new surroundings.
A Place for Mom was everything portrayed in their commercials and more. Nancy found us the right place, the best place for our Mom at 3-4K a month less than places we found on our own not as good as Capitol Ridge wanted to charge us. Nancy followed through answered all outlet questions, and clearly told us what to expect. What a great supporter at a stressful and confusing time.
The Brookdale Care Center is a clean and inviting place to live. The staff is very friendly and caring to all residents. There are plenty of activties for all residents to participate in. The rooms are like their own apartments. Our mom looks forward to her meals in the dining room. A very nice place. Would recommend to anyone looking for special care for their loved ones.
Our representative from A Place For Mom continues to work and reach out for us to help my husband find a place close to his doctors and family. It is rare that she doesn't check in with me and recommend places for him. She continues to be a valued friend
A Place for Mom was extremely helpful recommending senior communities for me to look at for my mom to live in. My mom is very happy in her new home. We are grateful for the service.
Filled out a web form on Senior Advisor and barely hit the "submit" button before APFM was calling me. 1st phone call they left a voicemail with a name and number to call back for more information. They proceeded to call me EIGHT more times in less than 24 hrs, up to 9pm at night. The next day the "If you don't want to talk to us, how about we do it by email" emails started. Each one more pushy than the next. "We're concerned we haven't heard from you... blah blah". Finally read the fine print on the emails and realized they are salesmen pushing for their commission. WORST hard sales experience of my life! I've emailed them to lose my phone number and email, cease & desist, and that I would be finding a place to leave a review.
Kristen Parker, my adviser, is super. Kept me posted on different Assisted Living Places for my brother and what would fit his needs. He is a bit younger (60 yrs) and a lot of places wouldn't take anyone under 62 or 64. When she told me about The Concord Place in Northlake, IL, I checked it out and he has now been there just about 2 months and loves it. Have been talking on and off with Kristen for almost 2 1/2 years when I first had to move my brother and the first place he was in was not for him. She would check in with me every so often, which was great and just wanted up dates. Can't Thank her enough.
My adviser Amanda was wonderful. She was a counselor in every sense of the word. I was so distressed when I called. I had been trying to locate assisted living facilities on my own. I felt I had limited options for meeting my father's financial needs. Everywhere I looked was beyond my financial means. In minutes, Amanda gave me so many options, I never considered. I'd forgotten my father was a veteran, that he had an additional life insurance policy, that his pension allowed for a hardship benefit. Amanda scheduled all my tours for me, and discussed what things I might want to ask questions about. Amanda followed up with me, and gave me encouragement, when I procrastinated. When I was too busy starting a new job and attending to my dad in the hospital, Amanda called the assisted living facility I'd chosen, to let them know to hold a unit for us. And after all the paperwork was signed, Amanda called to congratulate us. She was wonderful and this service was invaluable. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you!
A Place for Mom provided reassurance, comfort, and guidance into the complex world of long term care. I wish I had known sooner.
Check out "A Place For Mom". I have forgotten just where I came across A Place For Mom.It was probably Google.
Carol sent me to the St. Joseph Senior Apartments in Salt Lake City because it was, unlike all the others in Salt Lake City, within my financial reach. When I saw it as just an Old Folks' Home, Carol asked me to think of it as a place where my life's endeavors and skills could add value to both my life and the lives of my future neighbors. It was magic! I am now performing again as an actor and singer, making money doing what I love most. This new vision on life came as a result of my decision to listen to Carol at A Place for Mom and find my home with a loving family at St. Joseph.
David Albert was a perfect guide thru the maze of options and facilities. He was very knowledgeable, but NEVER pushy. Available, but NEVER even close to nagging. I'm extremely thankful for the assistance I received. Mom is now 10 minutes away and HAPPY! Thank you, David!
I asked a few questions and you continued to bother me for months with phone calls. We did all the leg work and investigation of homes and you want to charge them and take credit. I have let everyone I know in this situation not to call you
My aunt's resources were limited, yet she needed to move into a senior living apartment. I had no idea where to start. A Place for Mom put me in touch with several places and we were able to find a nice place my aunt can afford.

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
