Great Processing - Not so good servicing
March 29, 2022

We got our AmeriSave Mortgage loan about five years ago. It was a fantastic process. Quick and painless as mortgages go. Thing have gone generally well but if you ever have issues that is where the trouble starts. In this case we decided to make an extra payment and send the payment in as usual using the provided envelope and sent it in the mail. We noticed a few weeks later that while the check had been cashed the credit had not shown up on our mortgage account. We called and they could not find the payment and asked us to email the service department. We email the service department with copies of the deposit and proof of cash from the bank. We get a letter back a week later saying "we are researching the situation." The fact is we are not months into missing a payment and the service consists of we might get back to you someday. I pointed out that if I skipped a payment they would not be so understanding but apparently the demand for patience only travels one direction in this relationship. Multiple calls to the service center have resulted in the response of "I see an open ticket, you will just have to wait for an answer."

WALK AWAY DON'T USE THEM - LOOK FOR A DIFFERENT COMPANY. I am working with them now. I have been told my loan is in "processing". When I ask the representative when it will come out of processing, he tells me to be patient it takes 6-8 weeks. I am now 7 weeks into the process. I finally spent 35 minutes on the phone to reach Solidify Title & Closing. They requested a payoff ltr which I emailed on 10/6/2020, but since the email was from me not a company, they didn't review my email. I do not recommend this company and am highly disappointed in the people I have dealt with. They don't seem to care or have a sense of urgency. 6-24-21: I checked my credit score and it dropped dramatically due to a hard credit pull from Amerisave on 6-23-21.

I had cancelled a loan refi with Amerisave in May 2021 due to too many issues with getting the loan closed.

On June 22, an Amerisave rep, Jack Sullivan called me, I told him I was not interested due to my previous bad experience with his company.

On June 23, Amerisave pulled a hard inquiry on my and my fiance's credit without permission using our personal information they had on file from the cancelled application.

When I contacted Jack Sullivan, he lied and said I gave him permission, that he absolutely would not have the inquiry removed, forcing me to file a complaint against Amerisave with the BBB.

This company will tell you things to get your business, get you tied up for months, to where you feel at their mercy to get a loan completed. The feed off the fact that you have so much time and energy invested that its just easier to wait out their terrible service! We began a Refinance loan that they stated would take between 45-60 days but we are going on 4 months now. We are bailing! The same thing happened to our best friends. My advice is to NOT use this company. If this helps anyone not endure what we did then we are happy.
USE A LOCAL MORTGAGE COMPANY AND TITLE COMPANY instead!

STAY AWAY
March 24, 2023

Worst company ever, they lie, they change terms, make excuses, and no communication. They wasted three months of my time and money for an appraisal for the lock-in. In the end they made a mess of things didn't account all factors. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!' Loan officers don't call you back, you submit the same documents over and over again and then they ask for more. They claim they make sure they can help you before they let it go to far down the road. SCAM! NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE

Typical company to promise you one rate and loan up front for you to take a month to go through the process and last minute change your whole disclosure, and ignore the screen shot of the disclosure you send them, of what you wanted and what they promised. To them ignoring you, to eventually canceling because you wouldn't sign what they were essentially forcing you to sign, a disclosure you weren't promised in the first place. This like most company's they treat you like a number. Would not recommend especially for Veterans, because if you are the one like myself that they try to take advantage of then you will have wasted time and money. I only wanted a fair shake and this company only wanted to take advantage.

Poor Customer Service
August 12, 2021

VI would never do business with this mortgage company again. I spoke with an Amerisave Rep and applied for the refinance of my home on April 28,2021. I am a self-employed attorney with more than adequate income to support the requested refinance. This rep and the loan processor put me through weeks of requests for more information from me, that seemed totally unnecessary. I always provided it and they would ask for more. They would ask me to "wet-sign" some of the requested documents and would not accept electronic signatures. Despite several assurances that all that was required was a "little more" for approval they never gave me a straight answer. I called and emailed about the status of my application. No response. At one point the loan processor requested that I give her several days for closing on the loan, which told me that my application had been approved. I did and then never heard back from her to schedule the loan close. Weeks went by. I called the loan originator and loan processor but they never returned my calls. Finally, on July 26 I wrote them and terminated the relationship and requested my $500 application refund. Now, two weeks later I have not received my refund or any contact from Amerisave. Horrible, unprofessional experience!. I am going to complain to the regulatory agencies about AmeriSave. Judy in Washington State.

Like many of the reviews on here, we are trying to refinance mortgage for home we already are in, have money in bank, nearly perfect credit scores, etc. Started the process late August, provided everything they asked for, as quickly as we could. Were told we'd close in 2 months, mid to late October. Then they started making excuses, asking for more information (same stuff we'd already given), then we had to call them, now it's devolved to us chasing them, and last week we couldn't get in touch with anyone. Called and texted our loan originator 10 times on the cell number she provided, no answer. Called her this AM on my daughter's cell phone (I know, dirty trick) and she actually answered. Sounds like I woke her up, but she did talk to me for a minute - says she no longer works for Amerisave, can't tell me anything due to "legal reasons". I told her it was kind of crappy to not let her existing customers know she'd left so they'd stop calling, to which she said "I hope you have a great holiday". Well, me too, it certainly would've been better if we'd gotten this refinancing done by now. Now we need to start over it seems. I started a fraud claim against them with our credit card company (Bank of America) for the $500 loan origination fee, hopefully we can get our money back.

Wish I had paid more attention to the real reviews in this site. It should tell you something that in order to start the process you are required to pay $500 upfront. We ended dealing with Amerisave for a refi of our home. Months went by uploading hundreds of documents including month after month updated bank statements and financials, why? Because they wanted to drag the process forever. Even after getting the "final disclosure documents" they wanted more "updated" information. This was after the appraisal was approved, credit approved, etc. After more than 8 moths we decided not to play their game any longer and went with another lender. We were able to close in about 3 months. In March we send an email to our "mortgage processor" informing Amerisave we had decided to end the process; we still kept receiving their emails asking for more documents to be uploaded week after week. Loan processor finally told me they would close the application. All good until there. I finally get an email informing me that Amerisave decided a "credit denial" based on "insufficient credit files"; really? What a joke, waste of time, and waste of $500. Run as fast as you can from this company and look for a reputable lender.

Before you are even requested to upload any documents. They ask the routine obligatory questions, generate an estimate, log you in, very rapidly usher you to sign through a bunch of disclosures, and want a $500 nonrefundable lock-in after. I stood my ground and had to repeat numerous times" I am not going to give you a credit card today. I am going to compare side by side with my other estimates first." My originator belittled this and asked repeatedly, "Why is that? I can match anything anyone offers you. What other offers do you have?" I tell him, he challenges one, I tell him it is actually the one I locked already, he promises again to match. "OK. I am still not paying a $500 fee at this moment." "Well I can get my something manager to waive it something something," I had to repeat my refusal to pay 4 times to get off the phone. This kind of rushing and pressuring while attempting to initiate a major financial contract is so unprofessional and a huge red flag. Perhaps they will indeed match terms, but now I cannot trust them enough to give them the chance.

No Integrity
September 25, 2021

We received a quote for a refinance with no closing costs and accepted the offer less than 24 hours later. The customer service Rep confirmed when we called to apply that the rate was still valid. After applying for the loan he called back and told us they would not honor the original offer and quoted a much higher rate requiring money at closing. We had other offers that were comparable to Amerisave. I WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. THEY ARE NOT TRUSTWORTHY.

Veterans stay away
April 13, 2023

Veterans stay away from this Company, they lure you in with false promises, I cancelled a VA Home loan application, due to the fact my house is in need of repairs, after telling 3 people the shape my house was in they continued with the loan, even though it wouldn't pass a VA home inspection and charged me for a BS appraisal, then looking at the loan papers, the points and closing were insane, I'm filing a report to the Department of Veterans Affairs about this company

Wasted over 3 months with Amerisave on a home refinance. I have excellent credit and have owned my home since 2003. The loan amount was about 25% of the home's value. Despite multiple documents sent and re-sent since November 2020, no closing in sight as of end of Feb.

Update: I was eventually offered a loan with Amerisave - below is actual transcript of emails i received from the loan agent and his manager:
Mar 2,3:30 pm - from the loan agent to his manager at Amerisave " Hey cy this one is ready to lock and I really have no idea how to approach this one since she is already an escalation case and the difference in rate is just so high.
Original pricing at float was 2.625% with $208 in lender credits.
Pricing today is the same rate with $12,920 in discount points"

From: - AmeriSave <*******@amerisave.com> (manager)
Date: March 5,2021 at 7:22:08 AM PST
Subject: RE:
"we went to lock this in this morning for you and market has had another correction. Do you want me to lock this in at 3.125 with 6k off for you?" ($6k off the $12,920)

A 2.625% loan with $208 in lender credit was offered, but 4 months later a 3.125% loan with $7000 in cost was to be delivered (maybe -who knows? - tomorrow they may offer 3.5 or 4%)!
I declined their loan and applying now with Logix.

AMERISAVE WILL SCREW YOU OVER AND YOU WILL HAVE WASTED YOUR TIME. They will allow
Their loan originators/processors to treat you like crap and then back them up. I have NEVER seen anything like this in my life! I was talked to like a street thug and the manager didn't immediately back
Me up! THEY KEPT SAYING... YOUR BEING RECORDED YOUR BEING RECORDED... Then, they incite you. Now we have to apply at a different bank with a lower credit score, and the rates just went up!

Refinance
March 19, 2022

I'm not sure how anyone would rate Amerisave the number 1 mortgage company to buy or refinance a home. They are the worse company I've ever dealt with by far. We tried to refinance with them and of course when we started they promised a low interest rate and an amount the we can pull from our equity. After months of sending them paperwork they keep asking for they started to lower the amount of cash out. They then scheduled an appraisal after we've been asking several times when it's going to happen. Once the appraisal was done we heard nothing so again we called, granted they don't answer the phone or return phone calls promptly. I had to call customer service to get to our loan officer. When we finally got him on the phone all he said was our loan is with another loan officer and he gave us his name and phone number. Of course he did not answer or returned our phone calls so again I had to call customer service and still didn't speak with him. Called the old loan officer back again only for him to say they can no longer do the refinance without giving us a reason (loan officer is called Nishan). He had no empathy just we can't do the loan. I told him how disappointed we were and all he said was sorry. Told him we want our appraisal money back he said ok let me talk to my manager and I'll call you back. After 2 weeks no call, email nothing. I had to call customer service again. The customer service rep was very empathetic and she actually had our money refunded. I WILL NEVER use Amerisave again they are horrible. I gave them 1 star because I had to
Provide some type of rating I wanted to do no star.

AmeriSave Mortgage is a deceptive company. Friday my wife and I received information from AmeriSave titled "Notice to Home Loan Applicant." The documentation showed our credit scores from the 3 credit reporting agencies. The problem was that we had never heard of AmeriSave and did NOT apply for a Home Loan through AmeriSave (or any one else).
On Monday I called the number on the documentation and reached "Brett" (if that was his real name). He told me he was licensed in AZ. When I explained that we had never applied for a Home Loan and that I was concerned that someone had misappropriated our social security numbers, he kept saying "Well, this is like a menu. No one stole your social security number. This was only a soft pull." He explained that he did not have my social security number. When I asked how was he able to pull our credit scores if he didn't have our social security numbers, he hung up.
Again, we never applied to AmeriSave for a home loan and we certainly did not authorize Brett to use our social security numbers to pull a credit report, soft or otherwise.
BEWARE of this company. They are pulling "soft" credit reports without permission apparently as part of a marketing scheme.
