I was in the market for a new motorcycle. I had looked at 3. I ran reports on all of them. The first one had been wrecked and not disclosed by the seller! The second 2 were clean. Helped me make my decision!
Americanvin ig great for the price! I ran a few cars I was looking at (I am in the market for a used car). Some came back good, some did not! Moral of the story? Its worth the $20 if you are spending that much money on a vehicle!
I am selling my car and a friend suggested I add a vehicle report to my online listing to attract buyers. It worked! My car had no issues and the report showed that! Plus, it was only 20 bucks. Can't beat that!
Got an e-mail from person named Sam to sign up for discountvin.com vs Carfax. Don't respond like I did - if they are legit the Craiglist e-mail relay will work. "Is your ride still for sale? I'd like to talk to you. Not all of my CL messages have been making it through for some reason.
If you can, please email me direct at my personal account -
SamRuck53(at|Gmail)
Talk to you soon.
Thanks.

Im currently selling a car, and a prospective buyer (*******@gmail.com) first wanted to contact me via his gmail address rather than using the Craigslist messaging method, claiming he was having problems with the Craigslist method. He then asked about a vehicle report, and referred me to a site claimed to be cheaper than CarFax. The site (discountVIN.com) redirected to AmericaVIN.com. I checked both websites, and found they were less than a month old. This scam directs you to a website created by the buyer to get your credit card info. Dont fall for this one!
I don't know for sure if this is a scam or not but I'm suspicious because I received an email inquiry to my For Sale add on Craigslist which implied that the sender was interested in buying my truck. I replied with phone # and address info and the sender replied by asking if I had a DiscountVin.com report on the truck, and then went on to tell me how great DiscountVin is, how it's less expensive than CarFax, blah, blah, blah.
I almost fell for it but before I ordered the DiscountVin report I searched for reviews and found that others had had exactly the same experience. Viewed in that light all the 5 Star reviews sound like they came from shills.
Whether this company is legit or not they certainly engage in very questionable practices. You'll get a legitimate sounding email from someone on Craigslist asking you questions about a car you have for sale. When you respond with an answer you'll get a reply that says, do you have a VIN report? If not try these guys (Americanvin) I've used them before etc... This wastes consumers time and is just straight unethical. I can't imagine why anyone would do business with a company that engages in practices like this when there are so many others that provide the same service.
These guys troll auto trader and Craigslist for business instead of paying for legitimate advertising and building their business on good practice. Who cares about how it compares to Carfax if you're cheating your way through.
Received an email saying somebody was very interested in the vehicle we were selling in craigslist saying that they needed a vehicle history report from this company to move forward. Totally bogus after reading this review confirmed what I thought.
A friend told me about AmericanVin as an alternative to Carfax. I ran a report on a motorcycle I was going to purchase to verify it didn't have any issues. I got the report immediately for $19 and it definitely helped me make up my mind. Well worth the small fee.
I added an americanvin report to my for sale listing online for my car. People told me they really appreciated that aspect. I think it helped me sell it quicker to be honest. Best $20 investment I've ever made.
A friend suggested getting a vehicle history report from Americanvin for a motorcycle I am selling. It was cheap, came fast and was super accurate. Good choice.
You people are so stupid. Every legit website can be a scam bc a scammer use it?
NO, the website works as well, i paid for one report and get it in not more than 1 minute. So, the website it's ok. The problem it's with the people who use and request report from there.
Jesus
Selling my vehicle. I was able to get an accurate VIN report from AmericanVin for only $20. It was a really good deal. It showed no issues with my car. I added it to my listing for sale. Fingers crossed that it sells quickly!
I had a similar experience to Mr. John C. Below... if your buyers ask you for a report, suggest you get it from a reputable site not from the one they suggest. Or if you're comfortable sharing your VIN then you can suggest that they get the report themselves. Here's another one that probably is a scam too (stay away): carvinleaks.com this was suggested by another "interested buyer"
I was in the market for a motorcycle. I ran a report (which was inexpensive by the way!) on a Honda CBR I was interested in. Guess what? It had been stolen! Saved me from a big mistake. And for $19 how could I argue?
The report was fast, inexpensive and had all the details that you would expect from more expensive companies. I had no issues and I would use this service again.
I almost bought a car that had been in a major wreck. I ran a report from Americanvin and it said it had been in an accident and the airbags had deployed. Saved me from a huge headache! Best $20 I ever spent!
What a great service. Super affordable and the report was very accurate. 5 stars! It is definitely a good thing to get if you are buying/selling a vehicle.
The report was inexpensive. Only $19. It was very accurate. Came quickly. What more can you ask for?! Thanks.
Answer: Yes! I was scammed the first time, the report had barely any information on it and the person who made the appointment never showed up. They pretend to be interested in your car, once you buy it, they disappear. They also don't sound like they're really interested, they ask a bunch of questions first, then suggest you buy it and give you a hard sell. This is totally a scam. I have a worthless report and someone else just tried to get to buy it again. Go with Carfax. This isn't legit.
Answer: Yes paid 19.99 plus they charge. 60 cents international charge. And they sent email
