My daughter got this doll for her birthday after wanting it for a long time. She played it it twice when right leg broke off. While trying to fix it to keep it in the sitting position for decoration the other leg broke off as well. It was horrifying for my daughter to watch the doll she wanted for so long without two of its limbs. Extremely disappointing for the Price it costs. The final blow was finding out that there is a clinic that can fix a doll's limbs for a steep price. It's the most ridiculous toy for the price.
I have called american girl 3 times and had to wait 45 to 50 minutes each time. I talked with two people and nothing resolved. My granddaughter didn't get her custom doll, nor did I get a refund. Tracked the package and said it couldn't be delivered, and then it updated and it was delivered to Larado, TX send back to the company. I will never order another doll from them.
I purchased a $200 gift card which I ended up never using. I have the purchase receipt still. My daughter outgrew her interest in AmericanGirl, and since I'm not going to be buying anything with the gift card, I called to have my money refunded. Apparently they feel they are entitled to MY MONEY because they refused to refund it. I am the purchaser of the gift card, and I have the receipt. I could have purchased product and be able to return it. How is it ok for them to keep my money and refuse to refund it? I'm shocked and disappointed by this. AmericanGirl didn't sell me anything... the card itself doesn't cost more than 10 cents. Why would I be forced to take product that I don't want? How is this fair?
I ordered 400.00 worth of stuff for this coming Christmas for my grandkids. Their website said it was all in stock except for two things and they would be shipped in 2 weeks.
I've called and customer service is out of the country and you can't understand what they are talking about and all they do is give you the yes oh, yes answer and nothing is every done.they are reading a script and have NO ANSWERS! I have not received the points, the backordered stuff and there are no answers to my questions. This is called American GIRL and there isn't a thing AMERICAN ABOUT ANY OF THIS OVER PRICED STUFF! NEVER AGAIN! I ordered online

Have been waiting for merchandise I ordered on December 15,2019. Still not here. Will have 2 disappointed granddaughters onChristmas Day. It shouldn't take 9 days to have an order delivered. I tracked the order, first FEDEX picked it up, then sent to various Fedex places. Fedex then delivered it to a US Post office to be delivered. Still haven't seen the merchandise. Other stores that I ordered from On 12/15/19 came before 12/20/19. Never buy anything from them again!
American girl is nice but the money to buy a doll is so much I do not like to buy a thing but I might buy some outfit but you have to have like 200$ just in your bank account I mean probably have that but do you want to spend 200$ on a doll and a book and some outfit
I needed to change my cc # because it was compromised, and they had to back order one of the pieces, When they went to recharge the card it was declined. So I called their customer care line to give them a new CC. First I called in the am and opted for them to call me back in 140 minutes. Well that never happened so I called again around 3 pm and same thing, requested a call back and never got one. So I called in at 7 pm and have been on hold for 2 hours already, being forced to listen to the same music riff over and over again. I think they picked it so you would hang up. One would think our business is important and have adequate operators to handle the Christmas rush. The hold times are ridiculous and is a sign of how little they care for customers. They also produced a new sugar plum fairy doll for $250.00. When I went to look at it on the site (early December) it is sold out. How many little girls are asking for this doll and won't get it, it was on the front cover and marketed heavily to little girls. And then they don't make enough of them.
I ordered a doll, realized it was the wrong one. I immediately tried to cancel the order. It was after regular business hours so I had to call back in the morning. I also filled out a customer service request on line to cancel my order (which has gone unanswered). The next morning I called to find out it was to late to cancel. There is a one hour window. (which I tried to do) I asked for a tracking number to prove it shipped or a refund. I spoke to a supervisor who was going to try to cancel the order and call me back which never happened. It did not ship until 3 days later. They could have cancelled it. I am disappointed in American Girl Doll!
Their would not be a book if you use information that is actually guided to young girls. As most of the information is gender neutral you are making the issue of difference between sex even worse. By making girls think that most of the stuff in the book only happens to them your making it look like things can't happen to men. This was written by a female.
I continue to be disappointed that AD continues to ignore the market of little Asian American girls. The one doll who perhaps looks biracial/part Asian is a smaller Wellie, Emerson. For 4 years I've been looking for a full sized AG doll who looks like my granddaughter. Yet the only diversity AG shows are African American and Arabian (Jasmine). American Girl Dolls, get with the program and use some diversity that resembles our American culture!
I ordered an expensive accessory for my granddaughter 2 days ago. Said limited quantity but was not on back order. After 2 days still no information though said would receive next week when i ordered. So call them over 45 minute wait for call back. Then they tell me it is back ordered and won't be in stock till April 30th. Really over 2 months for an item for the doll of the year which we purchased for her birthday, Who does the stocking around there and why an over 2 month wait for an item? Made in China maybe. You would think they would have items available for a doll that just came out! Very poor service all the way around! If i hadn't contacted them don't know how long it would have taken to receive this information. Automated, really! Try hiring some real people to keep your business running! Expensive to buy from people who are cheap about running their company, no regard for the children!
I love American girl because they have memories and they are really nice dolls also the food is really good because you can get a milkshake or even decorate a muffin or a cookie I love theses dolls even though i am 9
I ordered the Julie doll on 10/10/21 for a birthday on 10/21/21. The company immediately took my $ and I never received any more updates. I emailed customer service on 10/19/21 with no response, contacted customer service by phone on 10/20/21 and was told that the item was still in the warehouse. I explained that the gift was for a birthday on 10/21/21 and I wanted a refund since nothing had been done the whole time. The customer service agent then said American Girl has a policy that I needed to wait until l10/22/21 and if I hadn't received the doll by then I could call and have my order refunded to me. I then emailed customer
Service right sway and reiterated that the American Girl policy was garbage and a bad business practice. Customer
Service never responded to me but instead supposedly shipped the doll at 5:25pm of the birthday. Pure laziness and terrible business practices for a place that charges $153 for doll. Stay away from this place, other vendors put them to shame!
Long story short, They will lie to your face to keep your money. They will all but rape you with their prices. And then you can't change or cancel your order. If you do, they will not refund you any part of shipping. You pay to have it shipped for you and then you pay to send it back! You better make sure that you don't accidentally buy some thing! Because I accidentally bought a duplicate items! And then I was in the hole! And they were scumbags. Literally the most trash company. They said they would refund me, then said they couldn't, then said they wouldn't BUT they would give me a $10 credit to buy more stuff from them. That is absolutely laughable. I will not be purchasing anything else from them and I would highly recommend for others not to either.
Ugly dolls. You used to send your photo in, and your doll was made by that, but now you pick one of 10 (?) dolls. Dolls are creepy and look wanna be high quality cheap quality. Magazine sucks! Stupid magazine! Ugh! Also, the site layout isn't good. AMERICAN GIRL, ALL IN ALL, SUCKS, IN MY OPINION. I WILL NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.
I had a delivery problem whenever I bought something from here. It usually arrives later then they state but still I think that’s fine as long as I get them cheaper and not damaged.
As someone who used to live and breathe "American Girl" as a young child, I was thrilled that my girls were finally of age to purchase them their very first AG dolls. Ordering the dolls was annoying as the website kept failing and adding items twice for no reason. After an hour of trying to place the correct order, I was so excited! Then the disappointment came rolling in. I got an email a week later saying the custom dolls had been shipped and after yet another week of sketchy shipping details (or lack thereof), it was determined that they slapped the shipping label on incorrectly and it was unreadable aka lost. So I picked up the phone and tried to figure out what the issue was. I sat on hold for an ungodly amount of time. Had to hang up and tried again later that day. Again--sat on hold forever and eventually hung up. Decided to send an email instead. Sent a VERY strongly worded email and never got a response! I kept checking the shipping status of the original package and a week later it magically makes it to my city. I mean really? I have yet to even get a pity response from their company, can't get them on the phone. This will be my absolute last purchase from this company! Highly undependable, their customer service is pitiful at best, and their prices are absurd. What is to like? Bye.
I ordered 2 bitty babies and 2 diaper bags with accessories this evening from American Girl to set back for my children's Christmas because they were offering a 20% off total order coupon which I felt like was a great deal, so I went ahead and ordered to take advantage of the coupon. Immediately after getting my order confirmation email I noticed the price was higher than the original cart price that I thought I had purchased, so I start looking over my order details and notice that an extra bitty baby had somehow gotten added on during the ordering process, so I immediately called customer service to either have the extra doll removed or just cancel my order entirely and I will reorder the correct merchandise. I waited 25 minutes for a representative, and was told that my order could not be modified because my order was already processed. It had been 30 minutes! Am I supposed to truely believe that in 30 minutes that my order had already been packaged and was on its way to delivery and could no longer be modified?!? I was told that my only option would be to just return the doll after it was delivered to me, and pay a $6.95 fee for return shipping. Why can you just NOT ship it in the first place snd save us all the trouble?!? Poor customer service speaks volumes about a company, so needless to say, I hope my girls enjoy their dolls because this will be the last purchase with American Girl.
This book, directed at young children, is shameful. Do not let your child go to a toy company for Body Image advice.
I bought my granddaughter, who is 9, the American Girl "Kira" Down Under book written by Erin Teagan. Trusting that American Girl is innocent & helps keep our children's innocence & walking a clean path as they are young & growing in this constantly changing world! This story intentionally has information (but NOT any vulger details) about 2 aunties who are gay and has gotten married. It mentions they finally got married since the law changed. AND a visual wedding picture to boot! Not quite sure what their agenda is here but I really don't appreciate this author & AG company planting those types of seeds in children's minds... as well as my little granddaughter. Fine, if it's a true story, but this is not necessary to add that into children's books. Keep people private life out of it let our children have their innocence! I am not a hater. If people are gay let them live their life. I am so disappointed in American Girl for allowing this! I am done with this company I will never buy another thing! You've lost a great customer!
