Having read some of the reviews, it doesn't surprise me in the least. When I first started working there, I encountered so many quality individuals. As time passed, the quality took a nosedive. This isn't every department. I met a lot of great ppl. The issue is up top. The company treats many employees like a necessary means to an end and not really as valuable assets. Therefore, there's been a ton of turnover and they've lost a lot of great ppl who were replaced by ppl not so good or who didn't really care. 401k reps can't answer basic questions and would transfer the calls. It was embarrassing. I moved my 401k as soon as I left. We often voiced client concerns (and our own) about the website, only to see some update to the website that made it even less user friendly. It got to be comical at a certain point. I don't really believe Alight is dedicated to ongoing improvement. Alot.of our concerns were categorized as complaining when we were just trying to help improve the customer experience. I'll finish by saying this... Alight is a LOW COST PROVIDER which has translated into inadequate customer service.
Throughout my career I have used many HSA/FSA companies that process claims. This company is by far the absolute worst. MONTHS after they have reimbursed you they come back and ask for receipts asking for more information and receipts. Why do they even approve and pay receipts in the first place if after several months later they are going to deny or ask for more detail? And the customer service is horrible as well.
The worst web site functionality AND phone support I have ever experienced... PERIOD! I just spent over AN HOUR just trying to set up an appointment and the web site DID NOT WORK AT ALL and after another half hour on the phone found that the only appointment I could get was a Friday night or Saturday! DOW, the company where the "human element" is so important, picked another WINNER!
Customer service 401k "specialists" can't answer simple questions. Three reps each gave me a different answer to the same questions. When escalated to the "experts" the questions still remain unanswered after more than a week. Abbott should be embarrased after selecting this company to represent them.
Phony. They rip you off secretary. They charge you fees without letting you know. The most unethical company I have ever experienced!
At the outset when I was purchasing insurance through this company, it was a great experience. But when there was a problem, I became involved in a tangle of "we don't provide that service", "we can't reimburse from your account because". I've been working with them for several weeks to get the issue resolved, but the hoops a customer must jump through are numerous, time consuming and frustrating. I understand if your company has chosen this firm to handle your retiree services, you're stuck with it. In my opinion, there must be a better way.
- I simply needed to reset my password, you can only do this through the customer service number. No chat, no ability to reset your own password.
- Available hours are 7-6 Central time, no options over the weekend when I can commit to 90-120 minutes of hold time to speak to someone. I am not sure how a company can get away with this type of service. I am not sure who I can report this company to... maybe the BBB?
- I feel bad for any company that signs up with this company.
- My company utilizes them for our HSA plan.
The Federal Government Thrift Savings Plan recently contracted out services to ALIGHT SOLUTIONS a few months ago. Numerous complaints are coming in from plan members who are former retired military and civil service employees. The Thrift Savings Plan, aka TSP, is where current and retired Federal employees participate in respective agency 401k plans and many send their life long retirement investments to. Since the transition to this so called servicer, the TSP system has all but collapsed. Why TSP failed to research this company's awful ratings including BBB D rating is bewildering. This matter should be brought to the attention of the Thrift Savings Plan Inspector General Office for investigating either gross mismanagement of the TSP plan or worse. The first question should be who allowed this to happen.
It is horrible that my employer bought these morons' sales pitch and went with Alight. This is a disgusting corporate benefits provider, UNLESS your objective is to punish your employees and send them thru rings of hell.
This disgusting Alight website would not know the first thing about website design. Login is broken, homepage is WARNING me with a damn popup of crap I have completed two years ago, and they LITERALLY wiped out entire "Contact Us" page. That means NO PHONE CONTACT, NO EMAIL, NO ONLINE CONTACT FORM, NO CHAT WITH A HUMAN. IT IS AS CLOSE TO SAYING "GO FRACK YOURSELF" AS THEY COULD. CAN I RATE THIS JUNK AS NEGATIVE ONE HUNDRED STARS?
None of the chat, phone, or feedback functions work. Unable to change investment allocations. Phone hours only during work week when clients are working.
Should be a zero star!
SO DUMB! My team and I have spent half the year doing their job for them. No one in their customer service helps. They have sent callers back to us so what is the point of them?!?
No solutions. DO NOT USE THEIR HSA FSA - they are not compliant and do not understand compliance.
They are cheap because they are CHEAP! Will end up costing you $$$
SAVE YOURSELF - DO NOT USE!
Cannot share pics of personal information - but do your due diligence before hiring this company!
Company provides a service to employees to use Alight Financial Services' Edelmen Finacial Engine for Free and use Alight as a for Fee Advisor with access to the 401k Savings plan. BUT when in the Free Engine you can inadvertently sign up for the For Fee service which will allow them to manage your 401k investments WITHOUT your input. They send an email welcoming you and other emails prompting you to provide goal input. If they don't receive a reply in 30 days, they will reallocate your assets without your input AND charge you a substantial FEE. Welll,,, their email address will get caught in most spam fliters are your email providers server, ie you will never know you got it in your Junk file. Turns out their reallocation is a simple alogorithm based on your age alone. They reallocated my total Stable Income fund which I had for an emergency fund into core bond, large cap, and emerging market funds. So in one month instead of earning 1.5% APR I lost over 8% AND paid them $1,000 for that loss! I called and expected them to at least refund all or part of their Fee as it was an obvious oversight. But no! They said sorry and tried to convince me reallocating my Emergency Funds into Core Bond funds (which are plummeting) is OK in the long run. They did not understand Emergency funds are to weather the short term. They really did not care.
Just like others, my husband's employer uses Alight to manage health insurance and HSA accounts. He has been trying to enroll me for benefits for over 3 weeks! It is frustrating dealing with this company. We have chatted with customer service representatives and all they do is create a new ticket number. We have called and they also create ticket numbers. What is the point of having customer service representatives who cannot fix simple problems. This company needs to seriously fix their system so their employees can have an easier time fixing problems with their website. The closing window for benefits is right around the corner for us. This should not be happening.
We are a healthcare company of 300k workers. Alight is awful. They delete data instead of changing and updating and it takes forever to get them update. Definitely avoid.
Phone call after phone call after phone call, email after email after email and still nothing. My former employer, garbage UPMC sent my money here against my wishes. It's ben the biggest hassle ever to try and get this so called company to roll over my IRA to my new IRA. No matter how many times I email them the proper paper work, to the email address they gave me, they never ever seem to get the paper work. Even though the people I cc in the email receive their copy of the email, Alight never seems to get the paper work... fishy much. If they try to tell me that they didn't receive my paperwork for a fourth time when I call them today I will be calling the BBB on them.
I live in the UK and a former employee of RJR American. I have tried 8 times to get a response from Alight in the USA. Each time they ask for my Social Security number, date of birth and then tell me that there is 50- 76 minute wait time to get a response. I tried asking my question through their secure messaging system but no response after 3 days Appalling, Europe it would be closed down permaently
My former employer, Raytheon, has chosen this incompetent company to handle their benefits center. This month, March 2022, I was charged more from my pension for my health insurance. After making 3 calls, someone finally was able to tell me what happened. Without telling me, they deducted payments for vision insurance for my spouse. The problem is I don't have a spouse. How can this company make these changes without my knowledge? Who is this benefits center benefiting? I have made seven calls to them in the last two weeks concerning this issue. I just got off the phone with them and I am not confident that this will be resolved.
I have tried 3 different times in the last 3 weeks to get a customer rep since i was unable to set a phone PIN or log in on line to access my frozen pension account. The first 2 times no one returned my call (as promised). The third time i sat on hold for 2 hours and no one ever did pick up. They did thank me for my patience every 10 seconds! Hopefully by the time i retire (11 months) they will answer the phone.
Feb. 7,2022: My Annuity was to begin in Feb. 2022 (turned 65 in Jan 2022) and the payment & "servicing" of the annuity was transferred from Brighthouse (BH) to Alight Solutions (AS) in October 2021. This annuity was from an FDIC bank takeover from the early 1990's, so how the heck does the US government choose this incompetent company to administer my annuity? Shame on the US Government! I recvd my retirement annuity papers from BH in late Sept. 2021 and completed & sent back in mid Oct. 2021 (fax and mail). I called BH/AS in late Dec. 2021 only to - AT THAT POINT - be told the BH annuity papers I sent were no longer "good" since AS was now in charge of my annuity. They had these docs for two a half months and never contacted me that any paperwork was wrong or had to me completed again! I had to complete all the same docs, fax the 16 pages to them on Jan. 28 and contacted them again the next week. On Feb. 3 and 4,2022, I spent a total of over 5 hours (several different call) on the phone with AS employees, transferred numerous times, only to get their unprofessional runaround. I was promised each day that someone would "look into this issue" and call me back, and yes - NOBODY AT AS CALLS ME BACK! My next step is to provide this info. To my Virginia state insurance bureau, as well as to my US Congressmen and two US Senators so maybe they can look into the shady business practices. This AS company should be replaced and their inept and incompetent employees should be fired since they are not getting their jobs done.
I put in a request a month ago to take out money for a down payment for a house and I keep getting the run around and saying the 35 pages of paperwork is not enough. I was supposed to close on this house on Friday and will basically lose it because their carelessness.
Answer: It's a legimate scam company. It has offices and many employees, but fails on adminsitering benefits, wrongdfully denies claims,. And has no effective customer service. Whatever little they are paid by the company that hires them is a ripoff.
Answer: They are often imposible to reach in a sense because the computer system has limited topics, none related to Alight screw-ups, and if you pick the least immaterial choice, the rep you reaches is not emplowred to solve problems, only to report them to the indifferent Alight higher-ups in the U.S.
Answer: They weer picked by the company from which I retired - has to be bacasue they work cheap - but are not worth what they charge. Who hires a BBB D- rated company?
