I searched to see whether the books I was interested in were available anywhere in your network. They were, so I carefully chose which edition and condition I wanted and put them into my cart. Your site reminded me to login, so I did (after a password reset) and everything in my cart had vanished!
I went back and searched again, and put items into my cart again. The site offered a change on two choices in order to consolidate and to save money. I agreed, and then once I clicked on "submit order", it said something had changed. I had to go back and look through the list to find that one of the books that had been consolidated was now unavailable. There was no easy link to go back to my search, so I had to begin again and choose another copy of that book.
No other suggestions for consolidating or reducing costs were made. The order was placed -- but at the last minute the time until item shipped had increased by 2-3 days on 2 of the books.
You post free shipping icons on three different books. In checkout they all had shipping charges.

The online shopping is great. My issue is with the shipping, both from Alibirs and independent sellers; people have gotten lazy and no care is made to properly wrap books. I have received brand new books, from Alibris, that come dinged and banged up because they were just slipped into a package without any wrapping. Please fix this!
I've been an Alibris customer for over 10 years. Overall, I have had a good experience, but there are a few things that keep me from giving 5 stars.
Some sellers don't do a good job of protecting the books before they are placed in the shipping envelope/box, and this causes them to arrive banged up and dented. This is especially infuriating when it's a new book. I think Alibris should insist to its sellers that they do better or they cannot sell on here.
On my last order, books that I purchased straight from Alibris, not from a third seller, arrived several days after the USPS tracking said they had been delivered. It was probably not Alibris' fault, but it's happened twice now. If this continues to happen, I will take my business elsewhere.
