My 1st time with Alibris: I bought a book which the description clearly said "language: english". Got a book in German. I returned the item, got a refund. Decided to give them another chance.
2nd time: Bought the same book, this time with another seller from Alibris. Again, the description said "language: English". Received a book in German again. Their lack of disorganization is insane.
After 2 failed purchases I will never again lose my time with Alibris. Never buying again.
Fantastic, unable to obtain these books anywhere else in the UK other than from ordering from the US with ridiculous shipping prices. Can now get them from a UK supplier at an affordable price, only wish i knew about it earlier.

I added several items to my cart thinking the shipping would be combined and it always showed the same shipping amount but at the last step it was revealed that shipping is paid per item. I had to remove items. There should be a disclaimer about it before checkout.
Easy to find the book I wanted. Had to update my card details and forgot to correctly select Visa or Mastercard, and instead of just flagging this (or automatically detecting the correct option) the system reset the form, so I had to re-type my card number. Which is not the end of the world, clearly, but is irritating. And explains why there's no fifth star.
I accidentally sent the order to the wrong address, because I did not see that I had to select a delivery address separately from the billing address: there was a list of addresses in a box to scroll through it seems. I have not seen something like this since the 1990s – please consider updating the way your checkout procedure looks to make it easier for users to understand. As it is, the person I knew at that delivery address has moved away, so I now need to figure out what to do next.

Book listed as being in French and yet name of translator into English given in description. Publisher's name confirms it should be in English, but a bit hazy.

I think range of books is great but cost of shipping is too high
You need to correct your website. It would not let me pay with PayPal, only card which I don't ever do. And it would not let me enter a postcode with letters for an English address which is what English postcodes consist of.
Nice and easy to find stuff, great quality selection, feedback and reviews on the independent shops. But a total nightmare checking out? Do not like using my actual real information would much prefer PayPal or Klarna or google pay, Samsung pay or amazon pay. I would feel much more secure
I went round in a circle several times because changing the shipping address automatically changed the billing address. However, I was not able to select the billing address even though your system already had it. Sending a gift should not be so complicated!
It's really bewildering that, when I'm on the screen for typing in my payment card details, you don't show my FULL shipping address! You miss out the first part! That is SO worrying! LATER, on the placing-my-order screen, my FULL shipping address appears - that's wonderful. But WHY put me in a panic earlier by not showing the full address? I was worried my books would not arrive! I nearly didn't continue with my order!

The address fields do not take into account that Finland - and many other countries - do not have counties. There is a sort of voting ares that I have used, but this is totally unnecessary in an address.
I thought to use the voucher you sent me (unsolicited) for £3 off a purchase of £25. But now I am told that the £25 does not include postage, which amounts to nearly 40% of my order. I am disappointed.
Having searched for a hard-to-find book for several weeks I finally found it on your store, which was easy to navigate, the guyest checkout was simple and efficient, and the shipping prices were fair.
Sit just wasn't working at all earlier. Finally placed my order name after umteen mistakes in filling in credit card details (some of which mine btw). Anyway 2 stars just so someone knows the website was down earlier and it did impact people.
A lot of the books I am interested in are sourced in the USA. The postage seems to be for USA recipients only. I would like to see faster delivery time and would be happy to accept more costly delivery. Also, a more secure and better delivery scheme for these expensive and valuable books. I live in the UK. Otherwise an excellent service and fantastic source of second hand books.
Good service, hopefully you will use a distribution courier that gives a dam.

I have always enjoyed my shopping exoerience with Alibris. There is an excellent choice between used books and new books, depending upon which I am seeking at the time. Also I do not feel hasselled or misled into other choices.
I don't like there's no posibility to track the shipment... But other than that, excellent customer service, and book are in very good state (taking into account the ones I bought were second hand, just a few pencil notes but pages and cover were as new).

I had complained about postage not being quoted accurately on the final screen before an order is confirmed.
By contrast, ordering a different book on alibris.co.uk today, *******, it was quoted correctly.
It seems that you have an issue to sort out. Please do it without further reference to me; it is not my job to re/build your website.

You twice took an order for a book then later refused it and this is now the third bloody attempt.
You owe me the standard admin charge from this end of £25 per occasion on which a retailer fouls up on an order for one book (every occasion after the first, which makes £25 due. This is in cash not kind)
