The initial estimate of shipping almost deterred me from ordering. The final shipping was reasonable, considering that I was importing books.
Due to shipping issues on US site for UK to UK purchase and delivery they provided the.co.uk link to try to correct the issue. It worked but only if a proxy is used. Given the choice I would have given at least a 3.5 star rating. Thanks.
Superb library and availability, both new and used. Very good website and efficient delivery
Excellent range, excellent choices and associated info!
Hello, When adding a book to the cart without entering my account and when entering the personal account it is no longer available. I imagine that the system saves the product in a non-existent basket without an account for 12 hours. Fortunately there was another copy at a similar price. Apart from this inconvenience, my buying experience will be good if the book arrives on time and in good condition. Thanks.
Alibris is easy to navigate and use, I can always find what I'm looking for with many options to choose from to suit my needs. I often hunt down used, more obscure books that are otherwise difficult to get my hands on, and I'm very pleased with how much easier Alibris has made this for me.
Poor website, bad service, have not received a refund from a book that I bought, which got cancelled almost immediately after I ordered it.
For future references - please ensure your stock is updated on the website as I needed this book (which can only be bought secondhand these days) for important training that I am doing.
Your software does not catch errors and it does not retain entered information when user makes an error. What I want is to be able to click PayPal which will seamlessly give you my contact details, without me needing to enter them, and allow me to pay simply and securely.
Books were "as new", good price before postage fair including postage. Delivery time just ok. Titles and contents were unusual, interesting and humorous but in my case were of novelty value and short-lived. BEWARE: Offer of a £3 voucher was stated, after my order had been placed, to be for orders of £30 or more! Overall: Good products at a fair price, but be careful.
(Order no. *******)
My second order placed with Alibris today. On both occasions I had a lot of difficulty moving on from the "Confirm card details" page. This eventually led to a text message from my card issuer requesting confirmation of my intention to purchase, etc. etc., followed by an instruction to wait a further ten minutes. More etc. etc.s. Threats to cancel my card immediately in case of non-compliance. All rather tiresome.
1. There was no opportunity to correct a mistake in the shipping address.
2. the billing address postcode would not accept letters only numbers.
3. I expected the 'review' stage to allow me to review and change anything that needed changing. But there seemed to be no Review stage, with opportunity to change anything.
Very poor shopping experience.
However, let us get the order; I'll see how well it arrives.
The system repeatedly refused to acknowledge that I had selected to pay via PayPal. I could only proceed by entering my credit card details. I can't understand why the option is presented if it's null.
1. The s/w is confusing (why have an auto-input of "Resident I...") inthe organisation field. There is no option to amend billing and shipping addresses directly during the check-out process; the user has to backwards in the sequence to do so.
2. The shipping information states that books will attract a charge of £2.99 for the first item and £2.19 for additional items, yet there is a charge of £2.99 for both if the suppliers are different. Misleading.
Created a small typo in my shipping address which I found it almost (but not quite) impossible to correct when it came to checking out. Going back was not an option, so I had to begin the process again.
Price increases will limit my continued use. I buy books for my sister, sister in law and myself.
I made a mistake in a previous order - notified seller immediately however several hours later the order was processes and shipped despite my request to cancel because I ordered the wrong item by mistake. I let you know immediately. I think it is appalling. Normal shops let people cancel if they made a mistake especially when shopping online not in person. Humans make errors. Your platform does not allow for it. I think it is poor service
The user experience in trying to figure out which books have ridiculous shipping costs compared to the price of the books is awful. I'm having to add and remove books individually from the basket to try to figure out which seller has exorbitant costs.
Please also advise sellers that they have lost sales today because of high shipping charges due to unnecessary "premium" delivery that isn't required (I would have happily waited a week or two for more reasonable shipping but could not select that option).
Search is good (better than many of the individual bookseller's own sites), but I found the "move to wishlist" process very laborious (I had to move each one individually), and I found the shipping estimates EXTREMELY opaque. Please show the shipping costs per book/company, so that I can choose which books to remove from my basket without having to add & remove each one by hand & recheck. Selecting books with a value of £40 and then the shipping turned out to be £50 is unreasonable.
Please give the choice of a reputable payment option like Paypal or Google Pay so I don't have to give my card details to a random website that's more easily hacked. Some ppl will not trust a site that doesn't give these options, I'm nearly there.
Search results are usually very complicated to understands, specially if the books that are searched consist of more than 2 volumes.
Shipping cost is still high compared to amazon.
I had problems with the shipment last time, the books never arrived and I had to take a refund.
I used your service for the first time in December and it was fast and efficient. I nearly gave up today. You constantly refused to accept my email or card, You kept repeating that the details did not match your records. That was this morningL I have now tried again this afternoon and entered two different cards as you suggested.
I was shocked to see the last four numbers of both of these were already displayed on a list of alternative numbers that came up. I used one of these and it worked and the order has been accepted by your system.
How can you have these existing numbers already stored when my previous order in December went through without any problem and would have only needed me to use one of three different numbers and why did you tell me that my details did not match your records.

Website would not let me check out as guest, the only option once it recognised I had an account was to log in to that account. As I didn't know the password, then I had to go through the whole loop to reset the password, by which time my shopping basket had become empty, necessitating start again from scratch. Very annoying.
