The company's reputation is significantly marred by overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding its educational platform, which customers describe as ineffective and frustrating. Many users express dissatisfaction with the program's design, claiming it induces stress and confusion rather than facilitating learning. Common complaints include poor explanations, a punitive grading system, and a lack of engaging content. Additionally, customer service experiences are often characterized by delays and unprofessionalism, particularly concerning billing issues. Overall, the sentiment reflects a deep frustration with both the product and the support provided, indicating a need for substantial improvements in both areas.

Legit one of the stupidest websites ever made. My teacher makes me do 20 topics a week and it makes me really depressed. The fact that I have to take my Fortnite time out of my day just to learn stupid topics is outrageous. I can't believe there could be a person so stupid that they would want to make kids lives so miserable. If people say that they like this stupid website they should honestly jump off a cliff. The idea of learning and not playing Fortnite makes me so mad that I punch a wall for every minute I have to do Aleks instead of grinding out Fortnite with the boys. I just want to say a sorry for the boys that I can't play Fortnite so much because of this dumb website. :(
This site has to be the worst teaching site I have ever seen in my entire life. People do not learn from computers and they never will. This site is just plain awful, good luck to anyone who has to use this for school it should not be a requirement whatsoever. I have learned nothing from this and neither will you. Everything should be done on paper.
I hate this, I hate it, hate it, hate it, hate it. My teacher makes us do 12 topics every single day, the structure of this program is sub-par AT BEST I would not recommend this.
This piece of website garbage has literally taken a mental toll on me and many others. It has caused depression in many students and has caused there to be several hundred dollars in repairs for broken laptops over the years. I have wasted about a total of a bajillion hours trying to solve math problems no one will EVER need to know, and principals and equations only a literal rocket scientist will need in their life. I don't understand why we need to know this and not actual things that matter. So PLEASE take down this broken-$#*! website and leave it to rot in hell.
I've been doing Aleks for around 4 years. Last night I spent an hour just screaming at my phone because I couldn't get it done, and if I don't finish 10 topics each week my teacher gives me an F. I freaking cried over this, I don't usually get upset over homework but this actually kills my brain and will to live. I should be learning not being tortured.
I had to use ALEKS for my Chem 101 course in college, and I can honestly say beyond a shadow of a doubt that this thing has given me more hypertension headaches in the past three months than I've ever had in my entire eighteen years on God's green earth. I generally consider myself to be a pretty calm person, but using and interacting with ALEKS has put me uncomfortably close to throwing either my laptop or my body out the nearest window. The progress bar mechanic is pedantic and irksome; whenever you make the slightest bit of progress, it's ripped from your grasp like a kite in the wind as soon as you make the tiniest mistake. And when one goes to seek help when one does not understand the problem, the explanations are roundabout and condescending, as well as outright confusing. It's like the bastard lovechild of Common Core Math and that petty Chemistry major who only agreed to tutor you so that they could strengthen their own God complex. I will concede, though, that it did help me to understand some of the things my prof didn't bother to teach, but that's another story. ALEKS might be better suited to individual homework practice instead of a homework requirement (like what I used it for), so perhaps it's the context in which I used the thing that's driven the vitriol behind my feelings toward it. Anyways, if you want some extra practice, ALEKS is just fine, but if you're actually trying to make some progress, be prepared to know what it feels like to want to rip your eyeballs out of your skull.
I very much dislike Aleks. I find that their failure to tell the student what is being done wrong before resetting the problem is just sloppy and lazy of the creators. The point system if just something that needs to be removed all together. You gain points by getting answers correct, and lose points when you answer incorrectly. It does feel great to get a correct streak, but it feels like garbage when you are on a tough problem that you answer correctly, only to lose a point after incorrectly answering the next one. I also think that the explanations of how to do some of the problems is just to complicated sometimes. Math is not my strongest subject, but Aleks doesn't help me learn that much. From an emotional look at things, I have cried over Aleks. Being on a wrong answer streak made me absolutely lose my cool.
The few pros of Aleks is that the website looks nice. When you initially enter the Aleks homepage (After signing in) it looks nice. It's a change from boring wore-out math textbooks that I look at normally. Another pro is the nice feature of the pie chart showing what you've mastered/learned.
Conclusion:
Do NOT force your students to partake in the Aleks application.
Thank you for your time.
ALEKS is a cheap substitute for actual student-instructor interaction that makes it impossible for students to get real help with concepts. It lacks the uniquely human ability to think critically and explain WHY an answer is incorrect beyond the simplest of algorithmic logic.
My high school algebra teacher makes us use this, i almost lost my sanity and made me wanna die, in fact if the algebra classes had a contest on which class can answer more questions, ill not do any questions cause i have more important things to do than aleks (like READING A DAMN BOOK!) i don't recommend this to ANYONE unless you are gifted or have grades over Cs, its worse that this is by the big textbook guys themselves (mc. Graw hill) they really should stick with DAMN BOOKS!
My daughter Ella has become very unsure about math. Sometimes she will put an answer to get it wrong and see that is exactly what she has put. I would not recommend.
ALEKS is a waste of time and effort, I never take any time when doing ALEKS because it is incredibly stupid. ALEKS seriously needs to be banned, because the way the questions and general website is set up; it makes the website seem like a joke. Instead of teaching middle school through high school math with ALEKS, teachers just need to do their $#*!ing job and not be so lazy. I'm actually writing this review instead of doing ALEKS. Please kill this website.
This site $#*!ing sucks were dose Aleks live cause I want to kick down his door make him do algebra then beat the $#*! out of this mother f****r program sucks it's so bad f u aleks
Absolute waste of time and effort. I cannot express how much this website stressed me out and made me waste my time and effort: the material and questions aleks asked you and makes you do barely relate to the class material. The knowledge checks set you back and are absolutely a waste of time. The question layout is horrible, and slows progression. The questions they ask are so mich more complex than what is necessary for no reason. Biggest waste of my time, absolutely ruined my semester BUT ITS MANDATORY SO YOU BETTER BUCKLE UP AND KEEP WASTING UR LIFE ON THIS JOKE OF AN INTERACTIVE MATH COURSE
I hate it, my child hate it
I don't like aleks
This stupid nonsense don't let your child use aleks
ALEKS. The peak of mathematical teaching technology (which isn't saying much). 9 out of 10 teachers recommend this site (so they can kick back and relax and do nothing). Before you ask for a tutor, consider ALEKS for your future math teaching needs. Side effects may include, depression, suicidal thoughts or actions, constipation, anger issues, ovarian cancer, bubonic plague, black plague, loss of appetite, disconnection from family and friends, heartburn, acid reflux, and death. Before using ALEKS, consult your doctor and rethink your life and try to determine the actions that lead to you wanting to use this website. ALEKS, F!@# you!
Whoever created this site needs to be in prison. This website made my life a living hell. My tests had nothing to do with what was on aleks yet i spent multiple HOURS A DAY finishing my aleks assignments.
This is the worst thing I have ever encountered in my entire life. If I kill myself it is ALEKS's fault. Whoever made this was not thinking through the possible ways to write chemical formulas. 0/10 do not recommend.
My Algebra 2H teacher decides she hardly needs to teach because this awful website is practically our primary teacher, and it sucks. Just an excuse for teachers to get lazy! Would give zero stars if I could.
Answer: Because the ALEKS program is literal hell and we people are just showing our hatred for it
Answer: Most likely.
Answer: Yes deal with it
Answer: Because people want to commit suicide in an original way, and ALEKS is the best way.
Answer: I don't think so but believe me a class action suit would be an improvement
Answer: I paid over $150 for this sumbi**h, I expect it to work
Answer: No i do not think the website owner has issued one but I think the feelings for aleks would be "down the toilet"
Answer: I realize this reply is very late but in case for anyone who needs it: -Let's say you're learning how to use long division. They have 3 questions in it. You master the first one, then go on to the next one. You get the second one wrong, guess what? They punish you and take back your first answer so now you have to answer it again. -How fun! And don't forget the useless knowledge checks!
