Very easy experience. I would recommend this company without hesitation. In fact, I was so satisfied that I'm using Alaska Car Transport to ship my other vehicle .
I purchased my transport about a month before the pickup date. There was zero communication between myself the company or the driver until less than 24 hours before pickup. If I called there was a 3-4 hour hold time and the customer service would often hang up on me. Also my vehicle showed up almost 3 weeks late and was in TERRIBLE condition. I ended up having to sell my car and never got a call from Alaska Car Transport telling me my vehicle arrived.

To spare you the long tale here are the highlights…
- Estimator tool works to the nearest state capital so 10+% up charge to actual location.
- If you ask for a Monday morning pickup they will show up Saturday Night without a phone call or any indication of a realistic time via email.
- Your vehicle will be transported to Seattle via the cheapest transit so in my case my car was peppered with sand and gravel inside and out making it hard to identify damage.
- At the port there is a large stack of papers with the contact information to submit a claim for Alaska Car Transport and there are no other stacks for other companies... maybe a coincidence, but I think otherwise.
- A claim needs to be filed within 10 days and have 2 professional repair estimates so don't pick up your car around the holidays like me unless you preemptively scheduled appointments while you car was in transit.
So if you hate money and your car this is the company for you.

Gave me the impression they would have my car to its destination in 3 weeks. It hadn't moved an inch in that time. They are virtually impossible to contact. Unless you absolutely have no choice, I suggest another carrier. ANY other carrier. Worst experience of my life.

They had me over a barrel. I cancelled the second half of the transport
This is my second time shipping with Alaska Car Transport. The first time was great and I didn't have any problems. This time a $250 yeti cooler was stolen from my vehicle. Items inside the vehicle are not covered by insurance and obviously no one will take responsibility. So I'm out a cooler. At least my car came in good condition.
Great website and clear pricing. I really appreciate how quickly it puts the sailing date in, along with the easy booking.
So far very good, until entire transport takes place. It is hard to rate a 5 until everything is said and done.
THEY LOST ARE CAR THEN TWO WEEK LATTER THEY CHARGED US MORE MONEY BEWARE DISHONIEST RAN COMPANY VERY DISHONIEST

Attempted to ship a car with Alaska Car Transport in early April. After dropping my car off on April 14th (when we scheduled), the car was transported from Fairbanks to Anchorage on the 18th where it sat, forgotten about, until I made a facebook post calling them out on April 28th, the date that it was supposed to be delivered to Washington. Immediately after I made the post, a friend went to the port to check on where it is and found them push starting my car (After they killed a brand new battery). The shipping personnel drove my car to the inspection facility and around the port, all captured on video, then contacted me stating that my vehicle was non-running and inoperable, stating that they would not ship the car without an additional $1400 fee for the vehicle not running. I will update this review as updates come, but as of right now they are refusing to ship my vehicle and are holding it, as well as the money I initially paid, hostage until I pay this ridiculous extra charge.
Tip for consumers:
Absolute scam. Holding my car hostage unless I pay ridiculous fees.

I used Alaska Car Transport twice in the past and had great service but this last time was just ok. The driver picking up my vehicle did not show up on time so I had to reschedule all of my other moving plans. I was told I would be updated if any changes but I had to reach out to find out what happened. I didn't get a response until after the driver came and got my vehicle but the lady didn't have the status update on my vehicle when she reached out initially. Since my vehicle was late being picked up I had to pay extra money to rearrange my travel plans. I've called several times but the wait times are so long these days it's hard to get someone on the phone. I cant be on hold for a half hour while I'm working. I've sent a couple emails requesting some sort of compensation and have gotten no responses back. They were quick to take my money but can't be bothered to reply to emails. I need to move a vehicle next year and I promise you I will not be using Alaska Car Transport. They charge entirely too much money to receive subpar customer service.
Received our car damaged and never answer our phone calls about our complaint. Will never recommend this company.
Three things you can count on with this company. (1) Your vehicle will be transported as scheduled. (2) Your contractually agreed upon price will increase by 10%. (3) Communicating is impossible unless initiated by the company.
Tip for consumers:
Vehicle will arrive as scheduled but your agreed upon price will increase by 10% and customer initiated communication provided impossible.

They were supposed to pick up the car at designated residence in San Diego county. On the day of pick up I was asked to drop it off at a different location and take an Uber back. It was a last minute hassle having to argue with the driver. Alaska air transport was one of the higher quotes I received Hoping the service would be better. It was always difficult to communicate with them as well. The car arrived in Anchorage on time and retrieving it was simple.
If I had done my research and read the reviews beforehand I wouldn't have gone with this company. As most of the reviews have stated, their communication or getting ahold of them is horrific. It took 2 days to get a call back and then a second time I waited on hold for an hour to talk to someone. Much of the information I was given about dropoff, ship times, and pickup was incorrect. I was told several times I needed to have my vehicle dropped off prior to 1130 Weds to be on that evenings barge. If I'd have known the odds of not making the barge, which is what happened, I would not have gone to the considerable trouble and expense to change plans to have the vehicle delivered 1st thing that Weds morning. I get it that things don't always go as planned and out of ACT's control but misinformation or lack of information was abundant on their part. It would be so easy to improve what 90%+ of the complaints are about this company, communication and/or customer service, but either they aren't reading these reviews or just don't care. I will be shipping another vehicle next month but will definitely be calling someone else.
Called to get rate quote to ship enclosed trailer; was told they are only shipping cars and the customer support representative hung up on me. Very rude and unprofessional. I have no issue with them being unable to support my request, but do so in a professional manner.
Good except why do I have to call and fill out a reservation request online? I should either do one or the other, not both.
The time frame was great, everyone I was in contact with were pleasant and informative. I did have a couple of small car rubs, at pickup and I thought they were dirt spots until washing my car and trying to remove them. I will get them fixed when I get my oil changed. Overall, I would use Alaska car transport again. Except for the car rubs, everything was excellent, thanks!
During my research on best value, I found a reputable company that offered veterans and active duty military free shipping on personal effects in a vehicle. This made the cost of going with them significantly lower than the quote I received from Alaska Car Transport. As a veteran, I greatly appreciate their willingness to honor those men and women who are serving or have served their country. Therefore I called and cancelled my order.
Additionally, when I did make calls to discuss shipment question, pricing, etc., I found when I was able to get a person on the phone, the customer service agents were very terse and borderline impatient as if their paychecks depended on how quickly they could put customers on hold or hang up. For a specific example, I called *******828 and the call was promptly answered. When I inquired about an email address to provide "valuable feedback and customer insight to help improve their processes" per the email from Shopper Approved, I was quickly put on hold. After ten minutes, I disconnected.
Unfortunately my 2002 Lincoln LSE was damaged. The front bumper cover has been badly cracked. Whoever did it tried to cover it up by applying some type of black paste over most of the damage. The cover will need to be replaced. Also, the transport driver told and a witness that he picked up the vehicle in Seattle. That didn't make sense since the paper work stated Tacoma. Sorry but wasn't expecting to get a damage vehicle.
Shipping my Camaro was estimated to be 2-3 weeks. I am a month past the estimated delivery and can't get a strait answer when my car will get here. Over 4K for a service that hasn't come close to what they advertise. Called 2 weeks ago for an update and they "were working it" and would call me in a week. Called today and the supervisor was "on the phone with the carrier" and they will let me know when there is an update. Wish I would have picked another company. At this rate it would be cheaper and faster to fly in, rent a U-Haul with a car carrier and drive it home.
The star was only because 0 stars wasn't an option.
Don't waste your money with this company.
Tip for consumers:
Use a different company…
DO NOT use this company! A HUGE lack of communication exists! After initial booking is completed there IS NO COMMUNICATION! We shipped our car from Oregon to Alaska and seriously believed we would never see the vehicle again! We were not notified when the vehicle was put aboard the barge or when it left port. We were not notified when the vehicle was ready for pick up in Alaska, or even if it had reached Alaska, all of which was stipulated in the contract to be done. Several days after the scheduled pick up date I was determined to stay on hold on the phone until I got someone. Three hours later an indignant lady answered saying the vehicle had arrived in Alaska but she didn't know when we could pick it up. We had just driven 300 miles from Valdez to get the vehicle! The indignant lady said the company had been emailing us regularly to keep us informed, but we did not receive even one email! Arriving at their office, after negotiating the gestapo like security check points, we politely asked for our vehicle. A very friendly gentleman said the car had been there 5 days & he had been waiting for us to claim it! NEVER, BUT NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!
Tip for consumers:
The total lack of communication by this company
Shipping with ACT was a stressful experience and several things went wrong. All of these had to do with their team's lack of communication. I shipped my car in June. Calling them for a booking was quick, but trying to get a hold of them for questions afterwards was impossible. When I initially booked with them, I was told I could bring my car on Tue, one the the reasons I specifically chose this company as I had a big exam on Mon and wanted to pack after. When I called to clarify a different question, another rep told me I had to bring it on Monday, and so not only did I have to pack the day before the exam, someone else had to bring in my car. Drop off was fine, but I was promised emails about when the car was received/ at sea/ arrived and I heard nothing! I was initially told that my car would be available one day after arrival. When my car was supposed to be available for pickup, I called customer service and was told I would have to wait 1-5 days for final inspection and there was nothing they could do for me. I couldn't wait that long as I needed the car for work. Finally I squeezed out the direct number to the port but got no reply. In the end I just showed up and luckily Matson, their shipping partner, was able to get my car to me. I will never book with ATC again and go directly through Matson next time. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is because my car wasn't damaged.
I was extremely disappointed with my vehicle movement by Alaska Car Transport. My vehicle expeditiously moved from Alaska to Washington as discussed with the consultant I worked with. It then sat at the port for 14 days before it was picked up for truck movement to my final destination.
On the Alaska Car Transport website, the average time of movement from my departure location to my final destination, is 13 days. My vehicle sat at the port for more time than the total average shipment time.
When I decided to use Alaska Car Transport my consultant informed me delivery times are estimates. Because of that, we agreed to drop off my vehicle earlier than planned to ensure it was delivered by the date I required it. As mentioned, the vehicle sat for 14 days with no update from the company or the transportation provider. This caused me to have to change work / personal plans to accommodate the late delivery of my vehicle.
Alaska Car Transport's cost to move my vehicle was high, but the counselor was confident my vehicle arrival timeline would meet my needs. Had I known how slow the movement and delivery would be, I would have used another company. The service was most certainly not worth the cost.
I do not recommend using this company.
The online quote was nice and my car did in fact make it from Anchorage to Seattle for the amount of money quoted. However, when issues arose, we as the customer were never notified until the scheduled day of drop off. We had to problem solve on our own and were given significant attitude from the staff. Then I was contacted being told that my vehicle was ready, when in fact it wasn't, thank goodness I called the Port myself to confirm the information. Overall unimpressed. My advice, skip the middle man and schedule directly with a carrier.
It took 2 mobths to get my vehicle delivered from Alaska to Tennessee. I was told my truck was on the barge to Tacoma over the phone and I got an email a week later stating it had just been received in Anchorage. Why it took weeks to get to Anchorage from Fairbanks I don't know. It did arrive in Nashville Tennessee sooner than expected but the original destination was supposed to be my home 3 hours away....
