Bait and switch

I booked two rooms in Japan for June. Turns out they were non-refundable, though it didn't say so on the payment page. I called the next day to try to reserve it and was told if there's a problem entering the country, it'll be no problem getting a refund. Well, that was a big lie. In addition to not getting a refund, they cancelled the reservation so I can't try to sell the rooms to someone else.

I am writing this as a warning not to use agoda to book hotels. When you book a hotel and they make a mess of it I dare you too try and contact them though email on their app. I challenge you to even find how to email them on their app impossible. Had to pay hotel admin fees and room once I got there as they had no booking in my name even though agoda took the money. STAY WELL CLEAR.

Not An Honest Company!

I booked a hotel through Agoda and the hotel ended up not being AT ALL as described, super shady, scummy and there was no way to cancel reservation directly. The hotel wouldn't answer the phone and had no answering machine. Agoda couldn't reach the hotel via phone either to cancel then the hotel refused to credit $145 charge because I was a 'NO show and didn't directly contact them.' I tried to contact them, Agado tried via phone and email. They were unreachable. Easy for the hotel to scam guests who realize they own a dump but want to take their money anyway. Agado took. I responsibility and didn't hold the hotel responsible either. My credit card company is disputing the charge but Agado should not be selling rooms online if they refuse to handle a simple dispute accordingly. Go through a more recognized site like Expedia/Trip Advisor etc if you want more security and customer service.

My partner and I decided to book a romantic hotel while in toronto for a night and went through agoda. We never recieved a confirmation email and when we called the hotel there wasnt even a reservation booked! We then had to go pay for a night anyways and Agoda still charged us 400 dollars! We called and called again and kept getting transfered and finally got told we had to wait 30 days before claiming. We waited and called again and have gotten transfered, disconnected, and horrible costomer service by their support staff. We now have to send our bank statements proving that we never got a confirmation and that we got charged and might not even hear back considering all we had to go through. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! Even the hotels told us to try to get our money back as this has happened to multiple people.

Not helpful with bad stay

I would avoid using Agoda for bookings. Booked thru them for a 1 night stay while traveling to my final destination and when I got to the hotel, we were placed in a room that was not cleaned. At 1230am you don't have many options, so I got linens from the night manager and made the bed myself. She noted the issues for the gm and when asked for a refund gm said he could not do anything because I used a 3rd party. Agoda is not going to do anything because I waited 2days to contact them, even though I replied to the booking confirmation with the issue upon arrival. Looks like I will get my cc company involved and never use this org again. Suggest using another booking agent for your needs.

I was quoted a price on the phone. Then when I got my bill I realized I was charged too much. Tried to get a refund and just getting BS about "special private rates" That special private rate is higher than the rate available to the public based on my experience. Do not use them!

Got to hotel booked on Agoda. Asked about internet, clerk said it's not working and no idea when wifi will become available I waited 5 hours in the lobby hoping it would come on in that time. Meanwhile I asked Agoda for full refund because I need internet for my work and it's not available as advertised on their booking website. They said they might give me partial and they will send message to another department for my request. I said no, you should give me a full refund because I'm not getting internet as advertised to be available. I said I would give them the lowest review and take my business elsewhere which I did.

LOOTING MONEY.

This is an unreliable application. No facility to connect with the customer care team if any issue faces other than automated replies. ******* Booking confirmation received money deducted from my account and after that booking was cancelled without any reason. When contacted the property, rude behaviour and asked me to contact the application provider which was impossible as mentioned earlier.

The place i booked for a week, i could only stay one night as i came late and had no other option, this place was advertise as a luxury room but looks like a drug house with a shared bathroom, they offer refund of 10% as point at them this is unexpectable, dont book with them they crooks

This is a scam company! Easy to book, it they will NOT cancel your reservation OR refund you at all. They came up with 8 reasons in a 5 hours period. This has been draining. Money hungry company.

Conned out of £1650 by AGODA -AVOID

Wife looked for Seville hotel, £630 3 nights…. Nope, that was per night.
I saw the Amex bill flash up, so I contacted Agoda to use the cancellation policy, but …. THEY DONT HAVE ONE!
I could have booked direct with the hotel for £330.
This company AGODA are cowboys, I emailed and phoned, was ignored and cut off, eventually I spoke with a broken English girl Vian, she sent a request to cancel. Instantly rejected!
DO NOT BOOK AGODA, THEY WILL CON YOU

DO NOT TRUST AGODA

I have booked HENANN PALM BEACH RESORT BORACAY from Agoda, they've processed and approved it week before our flight. We came to the hotel thinking that we already have a room, the receptionist told us that Agoda did not reserve any room for us and their rooms are all booked. They even said that I should be the one to contact Agoda about this because it is not their fault. They gave me an email address to contact them and Agoda did not respond promptly. Both the Henann and Agoda should communicate since they are the ones gaining from our payment and yet they did not even bother communicating with each other. In the end we booked with another hotel and just left without Agoda even fixing our probem. Should have been a nice vacation but Agoda and Henann ruined it for us. The only solution that Agoda gave is a refund but never even bothered how we wasted our time, effort and even money to book another hotel for us to stay. Never book your hotel at Agoda, THEY NEVER CARE.

Even though we faced so many struggle on getting a booked room due to hotels fake address and name misunderstandings eventhough the property (TREEBO ADRAK SUMMER SAND VAGAMON, KERALA) just Abandoned us even we paid the full amount where AGODA atleast helped us to get back the paid money even it delayed to take decision by agoda. And the lady who helped to get back the money for us was really a good employee and an asset for AGODA

Agoda is a broker and don't verify and validate their suppliers. We paid 30% more for room with breakfast and ended up with room only. Customer service offered no help and support, at the end they didn't even bother to respond to our written complaints. We cancelled our subsequent reservation with Agoda and used competitor instead which turned out to be much more efficient and transparent process. I'll never use them again!

Never book through agoda cheating site

Agoda given name of Hotel in their site which actually have no tieup with agoda. I booked at Hotel Shalimar metro kochi and paid to Agoda. But when i called hotel to confirm my booking they said they have no tie-up with them. They already asked manytimes to remove their name from agoda site but they are still taking money from customer and not giving that to hotel. So Technically hotel not getting money. And we are not getting refund from Agoda too.

Customer Support: Very Poor
Pricing: Fluctuating prices
Cash Back: This is just an eye washer. They are deducting more amount from you in advance, and offering your cashback. Cashback is also not flexible.

My experience has been bad. I would suggest to compare the competitive prices on other portals before booking.

Do NOT book with Agoda! Left us high and dry on a trip!
Wanted to share my terrible booking experience with Agoda this past weekend as a warning!

My partner and I plans this weekend to spend the night at The Plaza Resort in Daytona Beach with some friends. I booked the room through Agoda and got the confirmation a week in advance. We drove over on Saturday morning, and I went to check in. The hotel had NO information about our reservation in their system. They called their reservation team. The team said Agoda must have not sent it over, and they told me to call Agoda's customer service.

I called their customer service, and the man on the line said he needed to reach out to their "booking partner." And after being on hold for 15 minutes, he said he could not reach the partner and was going to escalate the issue and someone would call me in 30-60 mins.

Two hours goes by, and I haven't received a call. I called them back, and talked to another man. He said he was going to try to get a hold of the booking partner, and again could not. I ended up asking them to refund me because I had spent well over an hour on the phone with them, probably half of that on hold, with no resolution. I asked The Plaza if they could book us but they were entirely full. Every hotel that had availability was double the price we originally paid.

We ended up just going home. Thank God we were only an hour fifteen minute drive from home and not a plane ride away. I'm never booking with Agoda again.

After all of this, the next day Agoda emailed me and asked me if I ever could check in. After telling them no, they gave me $18 "Agoda cash" for the inconvenience. They said it would take 15-30 days to process the refund as well.

Anyways… ALWAYS call the hotel and make sure your third-party reservation went through before traveling. I usually do and forgot this time and it bit me in the behind.
