After paying my premium for 18 months they denied my claim for my hot water heater. Out of hot water for 4 days waiting on their plumber to come only to be denied! I've never made a claim. They will not get another dollar from me.
This has to be the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a company. We purchased after moving into our home as a security net if something went wrong, we faithful paid for almost 2yrs with no issues until our AC Unit went out we had a service guy come out and he said it needed replacing, that wasn't good enough for them so we used the cuy they recommend and paid another service fee and he said same thing. So few days go by and they call us with a resolution of $186 to go towards a $6-7K unit! Talk about a slap in the face, that doesn't even cover our service fees we paid out. They explained it was due to age of unit and I totally didn't expect them to buy us a new unit but $186 is a ridiculous resolution (as they called it). They stated that these policies are only good for new homes so be fully aware if anything in your house is more than. A couple of years old they will give insult you with a resolution! I recommend opening a savings account and putting that money there for a rainy day because now we are out over $1200 in insurance fees plus two service fees and now will have to purchase the AC unit ourselves anyways. So buyer be very cautious when purchasing insurance from these guys, oh and by the way both services techs (in the business for 30+ yrs) told us these companies never pay out for AC units and it's a complete waste of money! Wished I knew before this happened but now you do! These companies should be put out of business! I'm in the middle of a dispute with AFC Home Club now. Called in a service request on a malfunctioning toilet on July 18th. Paid $100 service fee. Repair was done and closed out on AUGUST 12th. Had nothing but problems and toilet was still leaking water down outlet tube. Requested they send someone out to check it. AFC wanted to send original plumber, which I turned down, as I don't think they knew what they were doing. Finally had to put another request in October 4th. They sent another company out who inspected first repair and said it was wrong part. Paid ANOTHER $100 service fee. They also told AFC that the toilet was 50 years old, had other issues, and best option was replacement. TODAY I am told by AFC that they will generously offer me $109 for me to go to Home Depot to buy and shlep home a cheap builder's toilet that is white (to go into a sand colored bathroom). They further offered to pay a plumber of MY choice $100 to take out old toilet and install the new one. I nearly died laughing. Plumbers in New Jersey won't leave their shop for less than a $150. I'm sure they expect me to pay this mythical plumber who works for fantastically-low rates ANOTHER $100 service fee.
Bottom line here: I had a broken toilet in JULY. I'm out $200 dollars in service fees and STILL have a non-functioning toilet. I got a lowball offer to buy a cheap replacement toilet and a laughable offer for plumber's labor. Wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.
Even on the Platinum option, the coverage is very minimal and when you cancel your account, they will try to get away with automatically billing you. If you check your credit card statement and catch it and call them on it, they will try to get you to sign up again so they dont have to refund your money. If you dont catch it they will just keep billing you. Serious shysters! Would do your research and go with another warranty company. No integrity and their morals are seriously lacking. Arrogant and will argue with the customer and turn everything around on their customer in order to not part with a nickel. My advice...

I made the mistake of choosing this company and all they have done is work to find reasons NOT to cover ANYTHING that I paid to have insured. On the AC unit, they don't cover 'valves.' Next service call, the serviceman talked to them and was told because he could not give a 'specific' part number, they would not cover it. I wasted $460 having for 10 months. They are not reputable.
Hello. Please. BUYER BEWARE! We purchased 3 year AFC Platinum for $1375 to cover appliance in a new house once the manufacturer warranty ended. AFC is a complete waste of money. We needed the coverage twice and both times were were let down. Their coverage is so limited that you would be better off donating the membership costs to a charity. Or saving the money to cover repairs yourself. There is a ton of fine print, so they protect themselves, but they don't cover the electronic chip based components, such as touch screens, upon which most modern appliance rely.
Our microwave went out, and the policy offered us the cheapest possible replacement and did not cover delivery, removal or installation costs.
Save your money…. This "coverage" is useless.
WE HAVE AN 8 YEAR-OLD WHIRLPOOL RANGE THAT AFCHOMECLUB WILL NOT COVER A FULL COST REPAIR DUE THEIR DEPRECIATION RATING. HOW CAN THEY DEPRECIATE A RANGE? To replace the range is three times the annual fee for coverage. I will not be renewig / in fact i am going to get out before renewal date.
Purchased this warranty with confidence that it would meet all of my needs. We recently finished our basement and ensured we obtained a plan that covered our sump pump should it ever fail. 5 months into the warranty the sump pump did indeed fail and flooded the basement we just had finished. As an emergency situation I immediately contacted my insurance and mitigation team to remove the standing water, however the mitigation team would not come out until we fixed the sump pump so I immediately called a plumber that came out and replaced it quickly and efficiently. The next day I contacted AFC to advise the of the emergency and realized I should have called them first but they advised me all should be okay they just needed the make and model of my sump pump which I gave them. They then indicated they would call my plumber to obtain all needed info. Fast forward a week and AFC indicated on my claim that the plumber would not call them back. I called the plumber and asked them to call AFC which they did and let me know all should be set. I received notification that the claim had finalized only to have them tell me they needed the model, make and serial # of the failed pump in order to reimburse me. Had they told me this a week earlier we may have been able to obtain, instead the plumber had disposed of long ago. Needless to say I asked for an appeal and they I indicated there is no appeal process. I asked to cancel my policy and they called to say they would reimburse me $140 on a project that cost $719 as an act of goodwill. Thanks but obviously this is an organization looking for ways not to pay a claim. I have since cancelled my plan (charged no additional $75 early term fee) and thought if that's what it takes to leave this extremely poorly managed team behind it is worth it. Save your money and look elsewhere.
AFC Home Club, after 2 years coverage, provided me the worst service and customer relations that one could imagine. Just to get in touch with someone requires multiple calls and waiting on the phone for their pitiful customer service. Upon getting someone to provide help, I found out that their "policy" did not cover an integral part of the "icemaker" and thus was not covered. Upon inquiring about cancellation and a refund found out that that requires a $75 fee as well. They've had my business for the last time. I'll find a company that actually provides a warranty that does not have all types of loopholes. Tyler, TX
Do not go with these they took over my apartment block early this year will not return deposit that I paid myself will not return my emails and will try do anything not to pay you what your owed I would never recommend this company please stay clear, iv no choice but to take them to court with all emails shown I'm not in the wrong they took 28 days or more to fix any problems in my home while living there and I'd a austic little boy there just so laid back

Service: Not friendly or helpful. The service reps don't listen. It sounds like they respond from a script. They just don't seem to care at all. They only care about the money you pay them.
Coverage: AFC will do anything they can to not pay for something related to your service request. They won't pay for labor, fees or any other components required to make a proper repair. They will only pay for the failed part itself. They also look to pay as little as possible for that failed/covers component, not a reasonable amount.
Terms/cancellation: AFC makes you cancell in writing to an address in Marietta GA. You can't cancel online or over the phone. They make it as difficult as possible.
Overall: You don't get the service or coverage benefits for the premium you pay. I'll never do business with AFC again.
Bought a 3 year warranty from AFC Home Club and now 10 months into the term I am faced with a SECOND denial of coverage. This one will cost me $3000+. They are completely worthless. Don't waste your money! STAY AWAY~~ you have been duly warned.
Originally I was with AHS ( this location is my Rach House) they had just replaced my water well pump that I had several years, but it was hard for them to locate contractors in that area and AFC home Club tells me I can get my own contractors and they can directly pay them or I can get reimbursed and i was sold by a sales manager he gave me his direct phone line well ok, a few months later my AC unit to the upstairs went out so I located a AC company at a nearby town and he went by and diagnosed the problem the compressor sorted out so he called them and told them and they asked him if there there thunderstorms near by and he said yes, so them they call me and tell me it was an act of God not covered and I told them they were crazy the storms were 10 days ago and so every time there was a storm all the AC's would go out so they said will waive that but the unit was also old so by the time we take depreciation you wouldn't get any thing so in essence in a house that is 9 or 10 years if anything breaks down you wouldn't get anything, so I then tried to call the sales manager by the name Patrick and another one Dave their recording now said their box was full and it could not take a message this sounds like scams and I am now in the process of my lawyer finding out who is their legal rep in Texas to accept Process Service " Will meet in Court" BEWARE

I called thrice for service, but they never send any technician. They paid $200 for ac and removed coverage from plan. So, I cancelled the plan, they charged me for service paid out. They didn't mentioned that when I had signed up
I have 4 properties under warranty with AFC Home Club. Had a claim for a $7000 heating system replacement denied due to the unit being too old. Defeats the purpose of having a home warranty if the age of the unit plays a role in payout. After various discussion with the customer service team and AFC Home club legal department, a $500 payment was made. Buyer beware. Better to go with another agency that doesn't discriminate against the age of the unit but has a yearly claim limit instead.
I am only giving a one star because there is no negative option. When I went with AFC a year ago, I was told they work with many companies/technicians in my area. I was also told they follow up quickly and resolve issues. All of this I found to be total lies with the very first time I had to use them. After having service for year, I finally just now needed to use them as my dryer stopped working. They said they could find one tech in the entire state who works with them and they couldn't come for a week. That is simply not acceptable. Now I have to do their job to find someone. I should be paying them for my time. They are so horrible. STAY AWAY!

"Forgetting" to share a key piece of their policy is still a LIE!
I never received their contract and was not directed to it before purchasing the policy. That one is on me for not making sure that I read the fine print before signing the dotted line. I should have known that these people are as greedy as all other Insurance companies out there.
My advice is to go somewhere else for your policy as this company is as unethical as their key competitors. They are all a scam. The funny thing is that i came to them because they were supposed to be the better choice than the company i left.
To say that i am disappointed would be a severe understatement.

Terms of service are sent once the agreement is made along with your Declaration page specific to you and confirming the sale. If you wish to view these terms prior to purchase, you may do so on our website or request them to be sent directly to you via your personal account manager. During this review time, we ask that you look at your coverage and if you have any questions you may call or email your account manager directly.
The initial limitation is to protect against any persons who may be purchasing the coverage with the intent of getting an item covered which already failed prior to having an active membership, this would also be deemed as fraud. This also protects the interest of our current members to ensure their coverage will never be denied for pre-existing conditions as that limit is placed only for new members and not renewing members.
We are confident that you can understand these caveats and hopefully, this helps to answer any concerns you may have on what the Home Warranty Product is. Please be aware as we are rated top in the industry for our services to our members, but we do understand your frustrations, once again this is simply a layer of protection for our members.
We purchased a $500 1 year plan with AFC when we first purchased our house a year ago. 2 weeks ago, our AC spontaneously stopped working. We called AFC customer service and they told us they'd send a technician the next morning. Next morning came - and nothing. We called them and they told us it would take 48-72 hours to send a technician. That's the first red flag. Who takes 2-3 days to send a tech for a broken AC in 100 degree heat?! They told us we could call a technician of our own and they would cover the cost, so we believed them. We got a tech from Hiller that came out within an hour. He found a damaged wire in the crawl space and ended up installing a wireless thermostat system instead of pulling a new wire that would cost us way more. We paid $700. After an entire week calls back and forth with AFC and being on hold for about an hour each time, they came to a resolution. They told us they'd cover $80 out of $700. We called and argued w them and they kept finding loopholes and getting out of lies. Why pay $500 a year for them to cover damage when they won't?! Moral of the story, they are a SCAM. I am in contact w my lawyer to sue this company. They need to be shut down.
AFC has to rank among the most difficult companies to work with I've ever encountered. They categorically denied service based on their narrative of a false warranty claim and after repeated requests with 2 supervisors to put their denial in writing they have yet to do so. You'll find yourself dealing with uninformed customer service reps with an apathetic mentality.
Answer: DO NOT USE THEM, THEY DO NOT COVER NOTHING THEY CLAIM TO COVER.
